Colombian President Calls on Regional Countries to Unite to Fight Back Against US
7 53524
Colombian President Gustavo Petro said Latin American countries need to unite to be able to jointly fight back in the event of a US invasion of Venezuela.
The Colombian leader called on the leadership of the region's countries to discuss the possible invasion that the US is threatening Venezuela with. At the same time, Petro notes that he would like to believe that this time Washington will limit itself to threatening statements.
The president of the Latin American country promised that Colombia would not provide the United States with its territory as a springboard for an invasion of the neighboring country and its troops for participation in this. According to Petro, despite some political differences between Bogota and Caracas, under no circumstances should the Americans be allowed to invade Venezuela. Internal political conflicts should be resolved through dialogue between the Venezuelans themselves, and not rockets, as in Palestine.
What kind of madness is this in the land of Bolivar the liberator, who was born here, as Jesus was born in Palestine?
— asks Petro rhetorically.
The leader of Colombia also notes that political changes have always taken place and will continue to take place in the region, sometimes accompanied by some radicalization of the ruling regimes in some countries. But revolutions in Latin America inevitably ended with dialogues. Petro called on all Latin Americans not to support foreign intervention in the region under any circumstances.
