Pacific fleet Russia has begun large-scale command and staff exercises in the northern part of the Pacific Ocean. The maneuvers, conducted under the leadership of the fleet commander, Admiral Viktor Liina, are aimed at practicing tasks on the protection and defense of sea communications, the command press service said in a statement.
More than ten surface ships and boats are reported to be involved in the exercises, aviation units, as well as several nuclear submarines. In addition, combat crews of coastal missile Bastion complexes, which significantly enhances the anti-ship potential of the group.
It is worth recalling that in parallel with the Pacific exercises, joint land strategic maneuvers of the Armed Forces of Russia and Belarus "Zapad-2025" were launched. As part of these exercises, the allied forces are practicing interaction to neutralize potential threats and stabilize the situation on the western borders of the Union State.
According to experts, the simultaneous conduct of two large-scale exercises demonstrates the increased level of operational training of the Russian Armed Forces in various strategic areas.
At the same time, the West reacts rather "nervously" to our exercises. In particular, Poland announced a complete closure of the border with Belarus for the duration of our countries' maneuvers "West-2025".
