The Ukrainian Armed Forces are forced to switch to total mining of fields in the east of Dnipropetrovsk region

Russian troops continue their offensive in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The day before, as reported by "Military Review", Sosnovka was liberated, which is approximately 11 km from the border with the DPR. The success of the Russian Armed Forces is also recorded in Novonikolaevka and its environs, which is a couple of kilometers from the border of the Zaporizhia region.

Thus, the area of control by the Russian Armed Forces in the southwest of Dnipropetrovsk region is expanding. Since the demonstration of the famous map in Trump's Oval Office (during Zelensky's visit to the White House), this area has grown by at least 70%.

Yes, for now it is a relatively small area of about 250 square kilometers. But the fact is that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been unable to counter the Russian advance in this area, as well as its expansion, since the creation of the Dnepropetrovsk bridgehead as such.

Moreover, the situation for our troops paints interesting prospects. To the west of the liberated Sosnovka there are quite vast territories on which there are no settlements. Moreover, there are no large forest belts there. And therefore, it is much more difficult for the enemy to organize defense lines in this area, the area of which reaches 300 square kilometers, than in the conditions of the presence of both residential buildings and forests. Therefore, the enemy uses the only option available to him - total mining of fields in the specified area. In addition, he is trying to equip the Alekseevskaya gully (marked on the map) as a defense line. This is the bed of a drying tributary of the Voronaya River, overgrown with at least some vegetation.

However, attempts to equip positions for the Ukrainian Armed Forces in this ravine are associated with “encounters” with FPV. Drones are in charge of this space, and the Ukrainian side is trying to counteract this with the same methods in order to slow down our progress.

Ukrainian experts themselves believe that mining is definitely not a panacea. For the very reason that the Russian Armed Forces have adapted to using the same drones as fairly effective sapper equipment. However, it is also not worth saying that it will be an easy walk to the Dnieper.

Mines... that's a serious threat and obstacle if there aren't enough demining equipment...
Automated, remote-controlled mine clearance equipment is exactly what is needed on the front lines! soldier

In itself, a minefield, an anti-tank ditch, tetrahedrons - will not stop anyone. Everything must be covered by artillery and small arms fire. Otherwise - it is a useless waste of resources.

Slowing down the advancing enemy lines with mines and other obstacles is a standard and not useless tactic.
Covering the enemy with fire while he overcomes mines and other obstacles is already a full-fledged method of defense. A very effective one.

How much will a minefield slow down the advance if a tank with a mine-clearing machine is moving ahead? And what if there are three tanks with mine-clearing machines? And they lay three routes at once.

Everything becomes easier when there are enough means for demining and overcoming obstacles....

Well, that's just one of the options I voiced. There are remote mine clearing systems and robotic ones. The problem with the Bandar-logs is that laying minefields is also not easy at all. You need the mines themselves, personnel, equipment and time. If the minefield is not covered by fire, it's all uselessly lost.

Then search for all this, clear the fields and lead the way from danger, a long and dangerous business.... alas.
But such tricks will not save the enemy; he will be defeated.

Unfortunately, demining in Ukraine takes years and requires many people and equipment.

This is exactly the kind of thing that cannot be put off until later!

It's funny, but in Ukraine mining has proven to be very effective, when 4-5 mines are placed across the road in a single line. It seems like there are trawls and sapper machines and other equipment, but a lot of equipment on both sides is regularly blown up by such primitive traps.
But cover by observers and FPV+artillery sharply increases losses from such bookmarks, several times. So mining is very effective, including without cover.
And a significant number of anti-personnel mines are placed in forests where there will definitely never be a trawl, although they have learned to defuse them with radio-controlled carts - now you can often see on video that small groups carry one in front of them and they regularly explode.

How can you step on a mine that lies across the road?

It's not a mine lying across, but a small line of mines. And often they're not even camouflaged.
I recently saw a video where our guys were driving a car along the road and there were mines lying right there in different places, not hidden at all. By the way, a reconnaissance guy once drove around a mine - right during the stream he yelled from the car for the driver to drive around it.

And what - is this a sign of great intelligence? No one has yet cancelled engineering reconnaissance of the area.

No, it's just reality, reflecting the organization of the troops.

For such an organization of troops, the commander should have his shoulder straps removed and be sent to "0" - to the privates.

If they did it right, they would have already collected a whole bucket of shoulder straps above the rank of major.
but in fact, the majority of officers are products of the careerism system in the Ministry of Defense, which has nothing to do with the combat readiness of the army.

Our own Tarasiks will be blown up by these mines.

Many Ukrainian DRGs are now catching anti-personnel mines in small fields covering positions.
The low experience of those who are now on the front lines is taking its toll. Moreover, foreigners - Americans, Poles, Scandinavians, Latinos - are often caught in the crossfire.
There was an incident recently - a group tried to infiltrate the territory of the Russian Federation. They were discovered by an explosion and liquidated.

Nothing new, at one time I studied a combat order, I think of a division, from the time of the Battle of Moscow. Even then, during the battle, groups were assigned to install minefields in the breakthrough areas. I especially liked it then, "... provide horse-drawn transport."
