Poland prepares to completely close border with Belarus "due to exercises"

The Polish government has decided to temporarily close all checkpoints on the border with Belarus on the night of September 11-12. This decision, announced by the country's Prime Minister Donald Tusk, is related to the large-scale Russian-Belarusian exercises "West-2025" being held on the territory of the Republic of Belarus.
The Warsaw authorities explained their actions by considerations of "national security". The restrictions apply to both road and railway crossings.
The checkpoints will likely resume operations after the completion of the maneuvers, which will last until September 16.
It is worth noting that this step did not come as a surprise. Earlier, on September 5, Tusk had already warned of his readiness to take “special measures” in the event of any “provocations” during joint maneuvers between Minsk and Moscow.
However, the very fact of conducting the maneuvers appears to be a “provocation” for the West.
Let us recall that the Zapad-2025 exercises are scheduled for the period from September 12 to 16. They will be dedicated to working out issues of military security of the Union State.
The program of maneuvers includes tasks to repel air strikes, counter sabotage groups, and also plan the use of nuclear deterrents, in particular, the latest rocket complex "Oreshnik".
In response to the activity on the eastern borders, Poland and NATO countries initiated their own exercises, Iron Defender. The alliance's maneuvers involve about 34 troops and hundreds of pieces of equipment.
It is worth noting that Minsk did not call this event a “provocation” and hastily close the borders.
