Zaluzhny spoke out against opera singer Anna Netrebko's concert in London

The Ukrainian Ambassador to Great Britain, General Valeriy Zaluzhny, has spoken out against a concert by opera singer Anna Netrebko in London. It is scheduled to take place this week at the Royal Opera House.

The former commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces expressed his opinion in an article published in the British newspaper The Daily Mail.

The general recalls that during the election campaign in 2012, Anna Netrebko was one of Vladimir Putin's trusted persons. And two years later, during the "Russian Spring", her photograph appeared with the flag of Novorossiya.

Zaluzhny called the opera diva a "cultural instrument" justifying Russia's policies. Despite this, he notes, she will soon appear on the London stage, and the audience will applaud her with admiration.

I am not calling for censorship. I am calling for memory and honesty.

- declared the general.

He equates the Russian singer's performance in the British capital with betrayal and expresses his deep disappointment about it. According to him, holding Netrebko's concert in London will be a test for Great Britain, which is one of Ukraine's closest allies.

The ambassador is incredibly disappointed and has tried to discuss the matter with both the government and the Royal Opera House, but no one seems to be listening to him.

- The Daily Mail notes.

Despite numerous protests from Ukrainian politicians and officials, the magnificent Anna Netrebko continues to shine on the best stages of Europe. And on September 11, she will perform in London's Covent Garden.

It's strange... Zaluzhny seems to have been born yesterday... Netrebko has already renounced today's Russia, and Russia has renounced Netrebko... Her concerts were cancelled all over the country... Oh well... Let them cancel in London too... Although maybe I don't know something...???

        - Zaluzhny stated.

To memory and honesty to whom? To his beloved Bandera, against whose background he takes pictures of himself on his phone as a keepsake and whose follower he - the narrow-minded Ukrainian Nazi careerist and war criminal Zaluzhny - is himself!

Well, in Russia, she's not even a prima at the Mariinsky, but a genuine, honored Diva at the Vienna Opera. So Zaluzhny went not to Russia, but to Austria. An ordinary soldier.

While paying tribute to her talent, it is still surprising how one can demonstratively forget one's homeland for the promised high foreign fees. It is known that she was pressured and threatened with refusal to perform, but she had a choice, and she made it herself.

Netrebko's concert in Novosibirsk was cancelled, Europe and the US tore up generous contracts with her and threatened to tear up others. Nevertheless, Forbes calculated that Netrebko earned over $2017 million in 7. Her participation in a concert in the West costs about $50. It should not be forgotten that the beginning of her career in the West coincided with the terrible years of Yeltsinism for Russian culture, when the attitude towards Russian artists and, in general, towards girls engaged in intelligentsia work was like potential concubines of businessmen and officials. Netrebko does not seem to want to break with either Russia or the West, distancing herself from the Ukrainian ideology of Nazism and racism.

      Not so easy.
On March 30, 2022, Netrebko published a post on Facebook in Russian and English, where she stated that she is against the war, is not an ally of any Russian leaders or political parties, and that her previous performances had been misinterpreted... On March 1, 2022, the Bavarian State Opera ended its cooperation with Anna Netrebko, and on March 3, 2022, the Metropolitan Opera severed all ties with Netrebko.[15][50] Despite statements condemning the war, Netrebko's concerts were cancelled in a number of cities, including Liechtenstein, Stuttgart, Tallinn, and Prague.[15]

On April 1, 2022, the Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre announced that it was canceling Netrebko's scheduled performance on June 2, 2022, due to her "condemnation of the actions" of Russia and "renunciation of her homeland."

Anna Netrebko continues to shine on the best stages of Europe. And on September 11, she will perform in London's Covent Garden.

She shines in Europe, but is in no hurry to come to Russia with concerts. After her statement of disapproval of the SVO in March 2022, she still lives abroad. While paying tribute to her talent, it is still surprising how one can demonstratively forget one's homeland for the promised high foreign fees. It is known that she was pressured and threatened with refusal to perform, but she had a choice, and she made it herself.

Can poems, books, music, songs and opinions of those we read, listened to and admired 5-10 years ago be attributed to history?
Let him be undesirable today, or a foreign agent. Let his accounts, his current statements be banned, because he is now against the country in which he took place.
But in the past he (she) was both popular and, more importantly, approved of by us.
Or did we all come out against Yeltsin and for Parliament? Maybe everyone voted for the Communist Party of the Russian Federation? Well, maybe everyone can have their own personal opinion without calling for a change in the constitutional order and the overthrow of the existing Government? Or can one have one's own personal opinion only in silence?

So they remained in history, no one rewrites books and no one remakes films. Here we are talking about something else, when a person has formed a "personal opinion" because of high fees, and is ready to renounce his Motherland, although he understands perfectly well that he will never become completely one of them for strangers, and will be constantly under surveillance - what if he accidentally writes or says something good about Russia somewhere? They will immediately remember - aha, a Russian woman screwed up, get her! This incident about Zaluzhny's reaction is just proof of that - for him she is still a "damned Muscovite", even if she is against the SVO.

Entre une superbe chanteuse d'Opera et un joueur de piano "sans les mains" contrairement à Zaluzhny je préfère la voix de la première plutôt que "l'instrument" du deuxième... winked

Between a magnificent opera singer and a pianist "without hands", unlike Zaluzhny, I prefer the Voice of the First, and not the "instrument" of the second...

"magnificent Anna Netrebko continues to shine on the best stages of Europe"

The editors would like to read what she said about SVO
And where has he lived since he was 22?
And when was I in Russia last time?

Are you suggesting that Pushkin should be considered only as having souls? What he scribbled there with the pens obtained by serfs, we will not take into account?
Who should Ulyanov be classified as? A revolutionary or a terrorist?
Kobzon, Pugacheva, Grebenshchikov, Magomayev... Where to send them?

    You can write.
    Can you sing?
Listen to how he sings. Praise him. Or sing better.
And without opposing the voice on stage to the voice of personal opinion, tear to pieces what you don’t agree with.
Otherwise, you end up saying, “I won’t even listen to what this witch sings.”

It seems that Zaluzhny has nothing better to do than to persuade his English patrons to ruin Netrebko’s performance on the London stage at any cost.
If this is so and Zaluzhny has become the Minister of Culture and part-time censor abroad, then his new position should only be approved, which, however, does not relieve him of responsibility for previous war crimes.
Goering also tried to pass himself off at the Nuremberg Trials as a collector who had preserved masterpieces of fine art for future generations from the encroachments of crude militarism and as a generous patron of the arts, but he had to answer for other things.

Netrebko has been living permanently in Austria for many years now. As they say, learn the ropes.

And, accordingly, her ears are not filled with the chaff from the idiot box on Channel 1.

Anna Netrebko is a Kuban Cossack. The Kuban Cossacks were the first to come to defend Crimea from Banderovites, crossing the Kerch Strait. Netrebko is an opera singer for centuries, because she has many high-quality audio and video recordings, unlike Caruso and even Shalyapin. In the West, they began to harass and blackmail her. Unfortunately, our compatriots, who are very far from classical music, being fans of pop, also took part in this blackmail. Victory in the SVO will put everything in its place. Unlike Shalyapin, she will return to Russia, where she has many fans.

Let Netrebko decide whose side she is on. Otherwise she will change her shoes as she sees fit.
