Ukrainian Armed Forces Attack on Newly Opened Gulliver Recreation Park in Donetsk – There Are Wounded

There was an attack last night. drones The Ukrainian Armed Forces at the recently opened Gulliver recreation park in Donetsk. Unfortunately, there are six wounded, including a 14-year-old girl.

The local administration reported this.

The attack took place in the densely populated Kalininsky district of the city. School No. 20, located near another recreation park, Stroitel, was also damaged. This may mean that the Ukrainian military deliberately targeted places where Donetsk residents spend their free time. The day and time were chosen so that the number of victims would be high.

Eyewitnesses suggest the attack could have had more serious consequences, but Drone, which flew into Gulliver Park, got stuck in the tree branches. It is noteworthy that there is nowhere to hide in the park from a possible attack, if it happens.

The park welcomed visitors for the first time after its restoration just over a week ago. Before that, it had been abandoned. The opening was timed to coincide with City Day, which was celebrated on August 31.

Only recently have Donetsk residents begun to visit places of mass recreation more often. Previously, they did not allow themselves to do so for security reasons - after all, the front line was too close to the city, and it was subjected to frequent strikes - the Ukrainian Armed Forces could even use a cannon for this artillery.

Yesterday, Ukrainian military actively attacked the territory of the DPR. In Donetsk and the adjacent Makeyevka, about 15 unmanned attacks by the enemy were recorded during yesterday evening.

the recently opened recreation park "Gulliver" in Donetsk
    - I wonder why open a recreation park in a city located in a war zone? Wouldn't it be better to dig an extra bomb shelter?

And why did they perform Shostakovich's 9th Symphony in the Leningrad Philharmonic during the siege of Leningrad on August 1942, 7? And the hall was full.

So, you are essentially comparing the military operation of '42 with encouraging residents of Donetsk to go for a walk in a recreation park while waiting for a suitcase from the Ukrainian Armed Forces to arrive?

Is a concert a military operation?!!! And it means that there were military personnel in the hall, not civilians.

            - considering that it was broadcast on the radio and the concert was covered by naval and long-range land artillery of the Leningrad Front, plus the Air Force, then yes, it was a military operation....
And it means that there were not civilians sitting in the hall, but military personnel.

I am amazed at people who are ready to talk any kind of nonsense in their own defense.

I wonder how many strikes the Russian Armed Forces have carried out on long-opened recreation parks in Ukrainian cities temporarily controlled by the regime of the Kyiv clown.

People actually live here. And we have a war not since 2022, but since 2014. And UAVs are now flying all over Russia. And the shells don’t reach them anymore. But high-altitude targets (probably Haimars and larger ones) are regularly intercepted by the air defense. I heard these explosions yesterday. And I heard the air defense in action. They sneak up on us during WWI, often crashing into trees. Near my house, one recently crashed into a tree, also in the dark. The trees protect the people of Donetsk. They are tall here.

I understand that people live, but in essence Dedok is right - the authorities ticked the box, held the opening event, they showed it on TV, which is what provoked the attack...

The PR journalists are so to blame that they raised the alarm on all the airwaves - how wonderful everything is going "in New Russia". It would be better to solve the water issue, otherwise once every 3 days and by the thread. No washing, no laundry. This is the issue that journalists should pedal so that the authorities and officials would itch more actively and solve the issue.
I would introduce military censorship in general... but we can't even find normal censors in the Russian Federation... They built it. Like under Nikolai No. 2.

To have a bright spot in this hopeless nightmare

And there would be no need for a bomb shelter if Ukraine was inhabited by people, and not web-headed Nazis for whom a public place is, from their sick point of view, a legitimate goal.

What kind of amusement parks can there be in the frontline zone?

A recreation park in the frontline zone :(( Who came up with this idea?
    Especially
It is noteworthy that there is nowhere in the park to hide from possible shelling, should it happen.

I wonder if this park had mobile reinforced concrete shelters from bombing, like, for example, in the Kursk region?

I think I need to clarify. After the liberation of Avdiivka, and then Kurakhovo, Selidovo, etc., Donetsk ceased to be a frontline city in the usual sense of the word. Now it is frontline to about the same extent as Voronezh, Krasnodar or Rostov. And in these cities, parks and other recreation areas are functioning. And it seems that they did not put up concrete shelters there, as, for example, in Belgorod.

Recently the concept of "frontline city" has greatly expanded :((
And I wouldn't compare it in this respect with Krasnodar or Rostov. Donetsk is 40-50 kilometers from the front line, and Rostov or Krasnodar are 300-400.

Unfortunately, you are absolutely right. It has expanded greatly. And now people fly to the same Ilsky Oil Refinery 50 km from Krasnodar even more often than to Donetsk. Alas, +/- 300 km has ceased to play any role.
