Microsoft confirms underwater communications cables damaged in Red Sea

International submarine communications cables were damaged in the Red Sea. The damage affected the Azure cloud platform.

Microsoft, the company that owns the service, confirmed the cable break.

As a result, this has affected the operation of the cloud service, which is used by more than 700 million people worldwide. Of course, not all of them will be affected by this problem, but for many users in Europe and Asia, the speed of Azure may decrease significantly.

The disruption affected communication routes connecting Middle Eastern, Asian and European countries. The deterioration in connection quality began to manifest itself yesterday at approximately 8.45:XNUMX Moscow time.

Microsoft has rerouted traffic and warned users of potential issues that may persist until the damage is fixed. The company's technicians are doing everything they can to mitigate the damage to the cables as much as possible.

At about half past one in the morning, a message was received that the cloud service was operating normally.

There are currently no issues with Azure.

- Microsoft stated at the time.

However, nothing was said about eliminating underwater damage.

The Red Sea is a strategically important region for global communications. International cables connecting Europe, Asia and Africa run along its bottom. At the same time, there is instability here due to the actions of Yemen's Houthis, who, among other things, make it difficult to repair and maintain underwater communications.

In the Baltic, cables and breaks are being blamed on us, and in the Red Sea, naturally, on the Houthis.

Well, yes...it's so convenient to blame all the screw-ups on the machinations of the Houthis...like the "floods" on the Kokhls.

If you don't get confused in the cables on the map, 17 communication cables pass by the Houthis, along the bottom of the Red Sea. And the Houthis are definitely to blame. Or is it high-key - like-key. bully

You know, our Iranian forum member, in the modern world everything is interconnected.
For some reason you don’t write where the US is and where the American base is across the gulf from Iran - in Qatar and “is it the US’s business - the Persian Gulf, is it the US’s business - the Gulf of Mexico?”
So, the answer is yes, we must both know about it and take it into account.
And don't forget - Russia is now confronting the entire EU (~30 countries), the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Turkey, Israel, some of the Arab satrapies, Japan and Korea. It's not like one 10 million Israel is hiding with the entire 100 million country.

Yes, I was a bit sarcastic. Of course, Israel chose a good time for itself to strike Iran (when Russia could not help in any way, because it itself was fighting, and China was far away). But Iran, before and now, has always been somehow strange in its dealings with Russia in the military sphere, and at the same time blames us for its failures. Although right now and after Russia's victory over the "so-called West" is a very good time to improve relations - both economically and militarily. In addition, it would be good for Iran to enter into alliances where Russia and China are. Improve relations with India for the future possibility of creating a common naval defense against Western enemies, and not only with Muslim Pakistan, with which India and Russia do not have very good relations for various reasons. And this is not to mention China. In general, less of the Islamic factor and some incomprehensible pride in King Cyrus, more diplomacy and business.

I am well aware of the ups and downs of the Islamic Republic. My views are completely in line with the views of the Leader. I must say that your words are like Vasily Zaitsev's shots. Right on target.

Yes, there is such arrogance. Unfortunately, inside Iran, the views are more oriented towards the West. Politicians and even Iranian society do not fully understand the difference between East and West. They think: if America sold so many F-35s to its allies, why doesn’t Russia do the same? Although the format of cooperation with a country like Russia is fundamentally different. I think if we get rid of this thinking, the situation will change. East is East. West is West. But, unfortunately, we have not yet completely gotten rid of Western thinking. After the revolution, in many cases, the monarch’s crown was simply replaced by the turban of the clergy. Much of the infrastructure has not changed yet. Of course, this will happen. As Khamenei said: “Our Islamic Republic is actually semi-Islamic.”

On the other hand, it seems to me that Russian politicians view the Islamic Republic as a country similar to America, which wants to establish its own monarchy, only replacing American liberalism with Islam, and again, according to the same global pyramid. Iran also has similar ideas of globalization, but this is wrong. Islam is not like that at all.

                Absolutely not.

If we look at the background of the conflict, it is WW2 and the introduction of USSR troops into Iran in agreement with the Iranian authorities, to prevent the entry of troops and sabotage groups from the countries of fascist Europe - Germany, Italy, Finland, Romania, Hungary, Croatia, Albania, etc. (almost all with the exception of Greece, Serbia, Poland and Britain). These territories were populated by ethnic Azerbaijanis. After WW2, the USSR observed a strong influence on the Iranian Shah and the government of British services and companies - and the USSR had well-founded fears that now British and American troops would be in Iran at the borders of the USSR (later, approximately the same reason served for the entry of Soviet troops into Afghanistan). Therefore, a not very smart "response" was born - to carry out a "socialist revolution" in South Azerbaijan and among the Kurds, so that later they "asked" to unite with the Azerbaijan SSR, which was part of the USSR. But the "rebellion" was suppressed, and the USSR withdrew its troops and did not help the "rebels". Accordingly, first the Shah's authorities, and after the Islamic revolution, the Islamic authorities treated the USSR as an enemy (a small devil, and the USA was a big devil). The USSR treated Iran - a country of Islamic fanatics - in the same way. Therefore, the USSR helped Iraq, which allegedly took the path of "socialist transformation", in the war with Iran. But Iraq was simply playing the "socialist card" to receive help from the USSR. In fact, the USA, France and Britain sold weapons to Iraq - since they were also against the Islamic authorities of Iran, who took away their oil fields in Iran, which they had received under the Shah.

But in the 21st century, Russia's opinion of Iran has changed. The only thing that remains is dissatisfaction with the incomprehensible and capricious behavior of the Iranian authorities. And Russia views Iran as a potentially friendly state and as an ally in the confrontation with the Neo-Colonial West. But the reliance on "Islam" rather than "patriotism" and a "secular state" is certainly alarming. But here the position is this - live as you want, no one is pestering you to "build socialism", but don't pester us with your "Islamic dogmas and orders". We are simply cooperating to obtain mutually beneficial profits.

In our country, too, there are people who are worried about (Islamic rulings). This is a short-term problem. In the long term, of course, Islam has everyone's best interests at heart. I have experienced this myself. Let's say, for example, that you are upset about the collapse of the Soviet Union. Islam was anti-Soviet, but it is also anti-American, anti-NATO, and anti-English. (The slogan "Death to the Soviet Union" has now been removed, but "Death to America" and "Death to England" still exist.) In my opinion, one should not judge too quickly.

In any case, there is no need to impose anything. I think both sides will definitely find a common language. Just as the religious community of Iran will eventually find a common language with the non-religious. Khamenei told Putin that the interests of Iran and Russia are mutual. Well, no one doubts that. Sooner or later, that's for sure!

Now that you have tried all sorts of governments for so many years and the only results were bloody wars with the West, bloody internal repressions and economic crises, both at the end of the Soviet era and during the Tsarist era, why don't you try Islam? 😉 Of course, I'm kidding, yes, you definitely can't force everything on people.

Christianity in the form of Orthodoxy is the original choice of the Russian people, back in the 800s (they invited and listened to Christian, Muslim and Jewish preachers and after some deliberation they chose the Christian one, well, and the Kyiv prince's mother had previously accepted Christianity herself - this was also an argument in favor of Christianity).

Changing religion is a sin, apostasy is like stopping respecting yourself, your principles - because of this, people have accepted death, but have not renounced Christianity since the time of the Roman Empire.

Moreover, Religion is not only about God, but it is also a cultural, behavioral code of a people - what to do in what situation.

Russia has been living side by side with Muslims in one state for over 700 years (Kazan Tatars, Bashkirs, Caucasian peoples). And generally living peacefully. And Muslims ended up in Russia because their states raided Russia, robbed, killed, took people into slavery (and slavery is prohibited in Christianity). And Russia was forced to stop this - by destroying such states as the Kazan Khanate, and especially the Crimean Khanate and Turkey. But Muslims were not exterminated, they were not forced to convert to Christianity under pain of death (as was often done in Islamic states). The top of these khanates (murzas) were offered - convert to Christianity, so that you would be the same as us and loyal to us and the Tsar, receive Russian "nobility" and all your privileges will remain. If you do not convert - then you will be like the common people. Some of the Tatar murzas went over - thus families with Turkic pedigrees appeared among the Russian nobles - the Aksakovs, Yusupovs, etc. Others simply became rich Tatars, merchants, but without privileges. And no one touched the common people - they remained Muslims as they were.

It seems that the Russians, having conquered a region, do not treat its inhabitants as former enemies. ((Surrender to us, you were never enemies)) Like East Germany after World War II. I remember the story of the Spanish invasion of Islamic Andalusia. There, Muslims were brutally killed. I think it was in the 8th or 14th century, I don't remember exactly. You are right.

Christianity is also a good religion, but I think it is not implemented very well in the West. As far as I know, some of its rules, like zakat and fasting, have been distorted or forgotten. You know, for example, in Islam there is a hadith that says that no property can be destroyed until zakat is paid. Whereas in the Christian West there have been so many wars, killings, robberies, etc., and in Islamic countries too. It seems that people are not very interested in zakat.

Good or not good, but the modern world and progress are the result of the actions of Christian countries and the Christian worldview. Especially "Protestant" countries (Germany, Britain, the Netherlands, Sweden, etc.), where they claimed that "God is not only in the Temple. God is in you too. It is not necessary to go to the Temple and show how you love God. But it is important to live and act according to the precepts of God every day. And the most important commandment is to work" (because "ministers of the cult" with their Churches, Monasteries and other riches, the power to decide and accuse people of "sacrilege" and sentence to death, etc., have become more "sellers of the cult", violating the tenets of religion. This also applies to Islamic ministers of the cult - there are many stories, tales about Muslim judges, qadis (kadi) taking bribes from the rich and making decisions not according to sharia against the poor, etc.)

And now, indeed, in the West they have moved away from Religion and now there is bedlam and devilry. And this was facilitated by rich people, who benefit from people being a crowd without principles, And among the rich people, as well as those who developed these theories and methods and implemented them in life, there are many Jews, that is, not all of them are Jews, but the majority are Jews.

Well, Islam is the youngest of the three religions - Judaism, Christianity, Islam. Islam was invented by Mohammed, who was a merchant and an intelligent man - he knew both Judaism and Christianity, understood their correct thoughts, supplemented them with his own ideas applicable to his place of residence and the traditions that were there, and this went down very well with the southern people.

And so all 3 religions are quite similar, but with certain features, like "circumcision", "halal", etc. - which is necessary for hot countries, but not so much for northern ones, etc.

In turn, Christianity also arose from Judaism, as a result of the people's dissatisfaction with the actions of Jewish priests, who were already "making money on religion" and rethinking some postulates, removing nationalistic postulates - because Judaism was originally the religion of the Jewish tribe and they considered other peoples hostile. And in Christianity, first, and then in Islam, all believers were declared "brothers". And the first Christians were precisely the Jews and other tribes living nearby - Palestinians, Syrians. Then the Greeks joined in, then the Romans, and through them all of Europe for various reasons - and not only spiritual ones.

As I wrote above, there will always be people who will start teaching you how to believe correctly, force you to believe in what they say, and sell you religion in one way or another.
