Azerbaijani media reacted painfully to the news of the imminent start of Russian-Iranian military exercises in the Caspian Sea CASAREX-2025

The Russian Caspian Flotilla, together with the Iranian Navy, are preparing to begin joint military exercises in the Caspian Sea. We are talking about the CASAREX-2025 military exercises, which will start in a few hours.

The maneuvers will last for three days. Their purpose is to increase the level of security in the Caspian region, as well as to strengthen military cooperation between the Russian Federation and Iran.

The exercises will involve combat ships and support vessels. Among others, missile boats from both countries.

Despite the fact that the decision to hold such exercises was not made “yesterday,” the very fact of the imminent start of CASAREX-2025 is causing obvious nervousness and a painful reaction in Baku. Azerbaijani media write that such exercises are being held “against the backdrop of tensions in relations between Baku and Moscow.” Moreover, the fact that Azerbaijan, a Caspian state, is not directly participating in the CASAREX-2025 military maneuvers is causing negativity in the media space of Azerbaijan.

The “wave” is also picked up by the Ukrainian media (where would we be without them), which write that “the Russian Caspian flotilla has repeatedly been used to launch missile strikes on Ukraine,” and now almost “threatens Azerbaijan.” Although, if we proceed from the latest statements by Ilham-Pasha, no one threatens Azerbaijan more than the course that the political leadership of this Transcaucasian republic has decided to take.

Recall that the day before, the President of Azerbaijan "advised" Ukrainians "not to put up with the occupation" and threatened to sue Russia in an international court for the crash of the AZAL airline plane. Today, Mr. Aliyev accepted chevrons from the national battalions from a Ukrainian journalist, calling on Ukraine "to continue in the same spirit."

It is important to note the fact that Azerbaijan, as well as other Caspian countries (Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan), will participate in CASAREX-2025 indirectly - as an “observer”.

A signal to our enemies - the Anglo-Saxons, including the Azeris - the Caspian is under control, as is the Persian Gulf with Hormuz, if anyone didn't understand.
Beijing is aware and does not object.

The Caspian Sea is becoming the only direct and strategic route of communication between Russia and Iran. Through Azerbaijan... The Zangezur corridor running along the Armenian-Iranian border and given to the Americans is blocking another route (the route through Georgia and Armenia)...

They haven't received it yet, but they are really trying - US Ambassador to Turkey Tom Barrack
"They [Armenia and Azerbaijan] are arguing over 32 kilometers of road, but this is not a trivial matter. This has been going on for ten years - 32 kilometers of road. And what happens is America comes and says: 'Okay, we'll take it for ourselves. Give us 32 kilometers of road on lease for XNUMX years, and you can all use it,'" Barrak said at a briefing in New York.

.Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who said that the US proposal is being actively discussed. “We are interested in it, but so far we have not reached an agreement on this issue. Can such an agreement be reached? Yes, it can,” he emphasized and added that similar initiatives from other countries are being discussed, although the American option is still considered the main one. https://iz.ru/1922779/igor-karmazin/bura-v-koridore-amerikancy-vryvautsa-v-borbu-za-uznyi-kavkaz

The noticeable activation of the US is interesting here. Previously, it was self-evident that the corridor would be given over to the supervision of EUMA, the European observer mission; in fact, it was pushing around in Armenia for this very reason, and for this very reason it disgraced itself by driving around with binoculars at a distance from the border line. But literally recently, the Americans have been closely engaged in the fate of the Middle Corridor, of which the route from Azerbaijan to Nakhichevan should also become a part. Emissaries of the US Department of Commerce are traveling around the region and probing the positions of local players. In the fall, from September 4 to 11, 2025, the Trump administration has already planned a mission called the “Study of Trade, Energy, Infrastructure, and Logistics in the Middle Corridor Region” in Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Georgia. It is assumed that by this time all issues with Armenia will be resolved.

Now they will come in and try to convince us that this is a purely commercial and peacekeeping project, but the time will come and... the masters of provocation will find a reason, although recently they have been without a reason...

Politicians of South Azerbaijan are simply separatists, all the bright and successful ones have so far been awaited not by the presidential chair but by a noose on a crane, a firing squad of the IRGC or exile.

As long as Lavrov is at the head of our diplomacy, not even a hair, or even a flea, will twirl around our necks.
Is there even one area that he hasn’t failed in during his 20 years as head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs?

The Russian Empire included Armenia and Azerbaijan as a frontline against the then Ottoman and Persian Empires, which were trying to invade Georgia and the Caucasus. Soviet power came there as the implementation of the "world socialist revolution" and as a counteraction to the intervention of Great Britain and Turkey. Now, with the capitalist restoration, the Armenian and Azerbaijani power groups are hoping for the EU and NATO. Does the Russian Federation have the strength and means to restore influence in the region?

A much more important question is whether Russia has the political will for this?

The maneuvers will last for three days. Their purpose is to increase the level of security in the Caspian region, as well as to strengthen military cooperation between the Russian Federation and Iran.

Good news. Kind. However, we must understand that in connection with this unmanned aircraft, our fleet must be modernized and seriously. The danger to ships is extremely high. This was demonstrated by the events in the World Cup.
Danger lurks both above and below.
A new strategy is needed. Perhaps a UAV carrier ship (strike and reconnaissance)!
Reliable means of protection are needed.
And the calibers in weapons are not really a plus now.
The calibers in SVO have not shown themselves to be particularly effective. Expensive and not always effective.
We need to install something else. Maybe a marine Iskander or Zircons.
The main thing is a powerful naval reconnaissance system. And for this, both UAVs and AWACS!

      A new strategy is needed.

new IDEAS are needed, and strategy is only the implementation of new ideas...
but new ideas are not expected: because new personnel are needed...
      etc. by the list

These ideas form the core of the strategy, and to separate one from the other is pure scholasticism.
How do you know that there is no new strategy... maybe there is no money for implementation?

IMO, you're confusing Goals and Objectives...
and the questions are not in the "strategy" the questions today are in - Personnel...
as it was said there: "personnel decides EVERYTHING"

No, you are confusing it. What do goals and objectives have to do with it? This is a system where there are parts and a whole.
And what about personnel? You need to be able to find and promote personnel. I think we have them, but not where we need them!

But Russian ass-kissers Markin and Gusman went to the forum in Baku.
Our "response" to Azerbaijan's Russophobia. Two Russian representatives spoke at Aliyev's forum.

In video #1, Sergei Markov showers Aliyev with compliments (he watches with delight as a Ukrainian journalist gives Aliyev Ukrainian Nazi chevrons, and Aliyev thanks her and says "continue").

The second representative of the Russian Federation at the forum, Deputy Director General of the TASS news agency Mikhail Gusman, was even allowed to ask his own question:

"My question is a little broader. Today, Azerbaijan, in my opinion, is pursuing a completely unique foreign policy. And I don’t even know what other state can compare it to.

There is some phenomenon in this that not everyone in the world understands, and not everyone in the world, it seems to me, appreciates it.

In this regard, I have a simple question. I understand that asking you how you manage to do this is like asking a virtuoso violinist how he plays the violin. He will say: "I take the violin, the bow and play." But your policy is based on certain, it seems to me, very clear, very well-considered political principles that allow you to pursue this multi-vector policy.

Could you please tell me 5-7 basic political principles of President Aliyev, who can conduct, as it seems to me, such a successful foreign policy? Thank you."

At this time, our journalists are sitting in Azerbaijani prisons, taken hostage. Not to mention the unique foreign policy of Azerbaijan, filled with Russophobia since the 90s.

Russia differs from other countries in that it has the largest number of neighbors. Whether you like it or not, you have to get along with them.
