Swedish authorities intend to confiscate AR-15 rifles from hunters to send them to Ukraine

Following the school attack in February, the Swedish government is introducing additional restrictions on owners weaponsIn particular, civilians are now prohibited from owning AR-15 semi-automatic rifles for personal use.

This was reported by the portal Bulgarianmilitary.com.

Currently, the Swedes have seven thousand units of such weapons registered in their hands, which are mostly used for hunting. The Swedish authorities intend to confiscate AR-15 rifles from local hunters in order to send them to Ukraine. There, these weapons will be used against the Russian army.

Such a step could be taken immediately after the country adopts the relevant amendments to the law on firearms.

Thus, local hunting enthusiasts in Sweden will remain unarmed, but Ukrainian militants will receive additional firearms. Apparently, they are more important to the Swedish authorities than their own citizens.

However, this is already becoming a common trend in most European countries. Their leadership often surprises with its decisions, helping Kyiv to the detriment of its own Armed Forces and population. And among these countries, Sweden stands out in particular.

In February, there was an armed attack on the Campus Risbergska school in the Swedish city of Örebro. During this bloody incident, 11 people were killed. The attacker was armed with a semi-automatic rifle.

    Confiscate or ransom?
It is clear that they shoot from time to time, just like we do...
To take away or to pay? that is the question

They simply revoke the licenses, after which ownership of the AR-15 becomes illegal, with two options - voluntary surrender with payment at market value, or confiscation with a fine.

Yes, but only for two years, after that only confiscation.

Well... Is it also possible, for example, that the guns could suddenly be lost by their owners? what

A small note - the AR-15 market is becoming illegal, as is ownership, and therefore they will be bought at a price that pleases the official who sets it. That is, the price will tend to zero. For example, in our country, an illegally handed-in traumatic weapon costs as much as 1500 rubles, a Makarov costs 5000 rubles, and a Kalashnikov costs 8000 rubles. Specifically, for an AR-15, you can get rich by as much as 4000 of our full-weight Russian rubles. Do you think it will be different in Sweden?

P.S. The data on payments is from five years ago. Probably, it is much more now. laughing

Somehow they pay very little... especially for the Kalashnikov. what
and the trauma is almost free.

so why then buy golden pistols and watches worth 27 million dollars?

IMHO, differently. They'll pay more. Prices sometimes slip through on the site.
After all, officials and employees there don’t shoot golden pistols on the street, and they don’t show off watches worth 27 million dollars abroad.

And there is no question: if in Russia, then confiscate, in Sweden, compensate for the cost of what was confiscated.

Also stole money. The rifles need to be serviced/repaired, return automatic fire, and be equipped with what is needed. What kind of money can be made on such an order!

Insignificant compared to the planes, tanks, hundreds of armored personnel carriers and other goods worth tens of billions of dollars that have already been delivered to Ukraine. In such a stream of muddy water, seven thousand rifles are not even a small fish, not even a tadpole. They are infusoria, not worth attention.
I don’t feel sorry for Swedish hunters at all, I feel more sorry for our own.

On 7 thousand rifles, which new can be bought for 700 bucks?). Even if someone bothers with this, it will take about five minutes of work for a specialist who serves in the army.

We'll have to offer the Swedish hunters "Kalashnikovs", otherwise they'll be left without game and start starving. lol

This is probably disarming the population, so that there would be fewer problems with firearms and at the same time, it would seem, to help the 404th. There is logic.

        Right!
The AR-15 is a military-style weapon. The population is only allowed to have civilian types of "barrels" with manual loading (not automatic or semi-automatic).

Reminds me of the situation after Dunkirk.
Then the allies abandoned their weapons in France and fled to England.
In order to somehow arm the soldiers, the hunters' guns were confiscated.

I don’t fully understand the logic of such decisions.
And if a stoned idiot in a Lada Granta hits pedestrians, will all citizens of the country have their Lada Granta confiscated? Or a Saab, if we are talking about Sweden...

As a hunter with 25 years of experience, I can say that the resource of the AR-15 barrel on our cartridges is 1000 shots, I think that NATO has now switched to the production of 5,45-39 cartridges, the entire Soviet camp stamped them out in the 80s and perhaps they began to stamp steel 5,56-45 using USSR technology, what is this for, that all their weapons are shot in two or three months and there are no resources for producing weapons, it is known how the Yankees went crazy when their patrols shot at their RPKs from 800 meters, and they had nothing to respond with, the M-60 did not work out for them, and if the Mujahideen were given a hundred Pechenegs, it would be interesting to see, so thanks to Mikhail Timofeevich for our AK soldier hi
