'Relations are great': Trump announces trade deal with China

US President Donald Trump has announced the successful conclusion of a trade deal with China. The document now awaits final approval by the leaders of the two countries.

The head of the White House wrote about this on his page on the Trust Social social network.

Trump announced the deal with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The parties agreed that tariffs for China will now be 55 percent, and for the United States – ten percent.

We get a total of 55 percent of the tariffs, China gets 10 percent.

- explained the President of the United States.

It is also important that the Chinese side will resume supplies of magnets and rare earth metals to American consumers. The Americans will also give Beijing what it needs. Among other things, this means providing students from China with the opportunity to study at US universities and colleges. At the same time, Trump noted that he has always been satisfied with the education of Chinese in American universities.

The relationship is great!

- this is how Trump described the dialogue between the leaders of the two largest economies on the planet.

US-China high-level talks in London lasted for two days and ended yesterday. Representatives of both sides announced to the public that they had reached an agreement.

Earlier, American media noted that the cessation of rare earth metal supplies from China puts the US defense industry in a very difficult position. The US automobile industry has also suffered greatly from this.

Trump's plans change more often than our weather, although it has been throwing up more and more surprises lately... But not as coolly as Trump does...

I wonder if the Chinese are aware of this or if Donya is living in the virtual world again. The deal is considered concluded from the moment of signing and ratification, if required.

      It's somehow strange - 55% and 10%....
Are the Chinese happy? Or are they not aware? Or has Trump gone crazy, as he often does? Yes

I think Trump said some nonsense, journalists multiplied the nonsense by a coefficient. And this is the incomprehensible news. Maybe 55% is a duty on Chinese cartoons or Chinese bananas, in general on something that China doesn't supply anyway.

Time will tell... initially, when Trump went on a rampage with tariffs for all countries, the Chinese side came out with the position of removing all barriers to trade because they contradict WTO rules, interfere with friendly American-Chinese relations, etc. Then long negotiations began, the result of which is unknown.

But if the information about 55% duties for China and 10% for the US is true + that China has lifted restrictions on rare earth supplies to America... this is a complete victory for Trump. Not only did the Chinese fail to achieve the removal of barriers, but they also sold them on such a sensitive issue... there is probably no need to even ask about chips, sanctions against Huawei, SMIC, etc.

The only plus for the Chinese is that they were allowed to remain on the American market, but if the duties are 55% (even on some individual items) - 40/30% - then European/Asian companies will have an advantage over companies from China... a trade defeat, pure and simple.

Trump has a holiday today, some kind of - Los Angeles, Comrade Xi, the Supreme Court confirmed the legitimacy of duties and tariffs, Miranda Divine has a very interesting podcast with Trump. And who voted me down - a fan of the Democratic Party? wassat Trump is making the US great, not Russia and certainly not Ukraine and Europe. Only two countries have made a deal with Trump - England and China. The EU needs to hurry - Ursulka needs to get younger and wear a knee-length skirt and stop being cheeky. They were actually hoping for a Trump-Xi Jinping battle in the EU and were throwing mud at Maximus, being cheeky. Welcome to the Oval Office for a spanking.

There is simply a new president, a democrat Lee Jae-myung, who advocates dialogue with the DPRK. The previous conservative president was arrested and is under investigation for a military coup. Since the Republic of Korea has been a democratic country since the 80s, conservatives and democrats take turns taking the presidency, and the policy of relations with the DPRK changes accordingly. Before the current president, there was Lee Myung-bak (15 years and a fine of $11,5 million) - a conservative, then Park Geun-hye (20 years and a fine of 20 billion won, pardoned) - a conservative, Moon Jae-in - a democrat, Yun Sok-yol (arrested, under investigation) - a conservative. Depending on who was president, a democrat or a conservative, relations with the DPRK changed, since there was stability in the North in this regard.

With China, everything is ahead, all the American high officials say - China is enemy number one in the twenty-first century. You can look at the Asia-Pacific region and see what kind of deal was made there.

Plus, grandma is already in good contact with the US, especially against the backdrop of the militarization of the EU and the purchase of military equipment from the US on a gigantic scale. 700 F-35 fighters, as an example

He really was a warrior. It's a pity that everything turned out this way. Through the prism of time, those events now look different. And the dead servicemen are not only on Prigozhin's conscience, much less Utkin's.

In the march of the so-called "justice", ordinary Russian servicemen should not have died. More than 20 pilots who were on board the 7 downed planes and helicopters died. In addition, an Il-22 plane and Mi-8MTPR-1 electronic warfare helicopters were lost, which complicated the situation of our troops, essentially blinding them, when repelling the "counteroffensive" of the summer of 2023, increasing losses.

They died because they were conducting a combat operation against a column of Russian troops that was marching. On foot. With all the proper attributes, including air defense.
Or, more generally, they died because someone very short-sighted and fearful sent them to the column.
Here Dmitry Valerievich Utkin has completed the combat part of the march as required by the regulations.

Utkin and Prigozhin simply repeated the Kornilov mutiny of September 1917. My acquaintances from the North Caucasus were very skeptical about Utkin. If Prigozhin and Utkin had managed to reach Moscow, then Russia would have had problems with separatists, both Chechen and Tatar, and Mordvin-Finnish.

If Prigozhin and Utkin had reached Moscow (they could have, but they didn't), then the political elite of Russia would have faced very serious changes and reshuffles. This would be a minus for a certain percentage of the population - for example, for migrants.
But, with a high degree of probability, as a result of such a “change,” the capitulation in Kyiv would already have been signed - possibly in 2024.

China does not have aviation technologies for civil aviation, some important microcircuits, some important components for pharmaceuticals. Russia is not able to replace the US in this. And it seems that Putin is holding back cooperation between Russia and China in knowledge-intensive industries. At the beginning of this trade war, both the US and China overestimated their capabilities and underestimated their dependence on the supply of products from the other side. China will partially reduce exports to the US and is unlikely to reduce prices for its goods for the US.
