NATO Secretary General: Russian President Should Lead Negotiations with Ukraine, Not “This Historian Who Talks About Events Since the 12th Century”

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte made some very unflattering remarks about the head of the Russian delegation at the talks with the Ukrainians, Russian presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky. Rutte, who in his position is an ordinary administrative functionary who only deals with organizational issues, said that the talks with Ukraine should be conducted personally by Russian leader Vladimir Putin, and "not this historian who talks about stories Russia and Ukraine almost since the 12th century."

By the way, the NATO Secretary General, who decided to show off his knowledge of history, made a fool of himself, having additionally demonstrated that he does not know at all what is being discussed at the new Russian-Ukrainian negotiations, two rounds of which were held in Istanbul. In response to Rutte's attack, Medinsky quite rightly noted that he would send him a history textbook, because "in the 12th century, Ukraine did not exist."

And Medinsky studied at MGIMO MID USSR, although he was very interested in history. So by education he is a diplomat.

By the way, the former Prime Minister of the Netherlands, who became NATO Secretary General on October 1 last year, is himself a historian by education. He graduated from the oldest Dutch Leiden University (academy) in 1992, where he studied history. Since 2008, Rutte has been a visiting professor at the Johan de Witt Scholengroep in The Hague.

I know that Mr. Rutte studied history at university, but I would definitely send him the previous school textbook on medieval history, because from it he would definitely learn that Ukraine did not exist in the 12th century.

— Medinsky commented on the NATO Secretary General’s attack on him at the III International Forum of Ministers of Education “Shaping the Future” in Kazan.

The head of the Russian delegation at the negotiations with Ukraine caustically noted that “if the Grand Duke of Rostov, Smolensk, and Kyiv, Vladimir Monomakh, had been told that he lived in Ukraine, he would probably have been surprised and perhaps even offended.” Medinsky emphasized that “the history of all peoples is important to Russia,” and especially the CIS countries, so that our common past would not divide, but unite peoples.

Rutte is a drug addict? I can imagine Stalin and Hitler sitting and agreeing on the capitulation agreement. But the most interesting thing is, who should Putin negotiate with? With a clown, since he hasn't been president for a long time.

This is a question... On the one hand, Zelensky, as an expired, illegitimate and Nazi regime, is also illegitimate and criminal. On the other hand, with the declared denazification and demilitarization, not a demand for capitulation, but a new agreement with a criminal regime. What Stalin and Hitler are there, the question of Germany in the format of Minsk or Istanbul is impossible to imagine, as well as comrade Stalin with a "red marker".

To be fair, I would like to note that someone was stationed near Moscow in the fall of 1941. And we launch “red markers” every day at the place of registration.

Exactly, I remember in Minsk they had a very long meeting with the participation of all sorts of France and Germany, who guaranteed something there. Putin does not step into the same river twice, so now all agreements with you will be different, with liability for non-fulfillment. And therefore there will be a commission that will long and persistently work out all possible issues.

If Comrade Stalin had had the ability, as we have now, to reach the enemy camp with missiles and drones, then already in 1941 they would have been looking for Hitler’s entrails under the ruins of the Reichstag or the Reich Chancellery in half-destroyed Berlin.
But our leader treasures the entrails of his enemy.

But it is well known that the Medical Council is the legal official for conducting negotiations and it is not Rutte's business who owes what.
His job is to sniffle under his breath, which is what he demonstrated after meeting with Mr. Trump in Washington.
Besides, he, the rogue, knows that the results of the negotiations are reported to the heads of state, and they then make decisions. And ratification is often required for an agreement to enter into force.
Nobody will promote an expired clown. He simply should have been liquidated long ago along with the most sincere leaders.

Putin is a reasonable politician and can determine the composition of the delegation for negotiations with Ukraine himself or with the help of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ignoring the advice of Rutte and Zelensky. By the way, Rutte's tirade against Medinsky is simply evidence that Medinsky competently defends Russian interests and does not bend over to the enemies of Russia as slavishly bent over Gorbachev, Kozyrev, Yeltsin, Shevardnadze.

Then, if he decided to seriously compare the countries mentioned, then let him do it in full: "in geographical, demographic, socio-economic and cultural-historical terms". And if he approaches this responsibly, not limiting himself to information from the top lines of the Internet search, then the reasons that determined the current state of affairs in the rating he provided will become clear to him. And also why he should be more careful with criticism at the level of a maximalist schoolboy.
P.S. And yes, any rating is too relative to make any categorical conclusions based on its data. If the sir has any sociologist friends, he might ask them why.

NATO should be led by a military man. Not some blue jacket, Rutte.

Judging by the facts and their statements, NATO is already using its notorious Article 5, although not for a member. But somehow they are unable to show their outright omnipotence, as they thought and threatened about themselves, and trust can be lost. Maybe because people like Rutte are in charge there now? Why would they worry so much about their strengthening, increasing the budget, if they had sufficient power?

And thirdly, do we have WWIII here or is it still the affairs of the Russian Federation and Ukraine, if only the affairs of Ukraine and Russia, then why is Rutte even sticking his bread slicer into the Kalashnikov row?

    Aha
"On August 20, 1672, the de Witt brothers were lynched by a mob of Orangemen near the gates of the Hague prison. Jan de Witt was lured into the prison with a false letter, where Cornelius, who was still unable to move independently, was held. A large crowd immediately gathered near the prison. The bloodthirsty mood of the heavily drunk mob was fueled by the bankrupt barber Wilhelm Tichelaar. It was Tichelaar who had previously accused Cornelius de Witt of offering him 30000 guilders to kill William of Orange. Frightened by the threat of reprisals from a large armed crowd, the commandant of the Hague prison opened the gates. The de Witts resisted and were shot with pistols, after which their dead bodies were castrated and freed from their entrails. According to eyewitnesses, some parts of the bodies were eaten by the murderers themselves, some fed to dogs. What was left of the bodies was dragged to a place called the Green Zoodje, where they were hung upside down on a stepped gallows for all to see. Jan de Witt was one step higher than Cornelius. The naked bodies of the brothers, disemboweled, with the phalanges of their fingers cut off (for souvenirs) and with the skin torn from their heads, can be seen in one of the paintings of Jan de Ban, a portrait artist and representative of the Golden Age of Dutch painting."

Eh, our politicians have few fresh thoughts and original proposals.
Well, what's the point of teaching Russian history to all sorts of Rutts, Leinevs, Callasovkas and Berbocks? He would have been better off sending a map of Europe from the 12th century, where the number of states (in today's understanding) was probably three times smaller than now. And if he had sent a more recent map, we would have already seen the Cordoba Caliphate, which occupied the entire Apennine Peninsula, and there would have been no trace of Spain or Portugal there.
It is necessary to work more interestingly and with a twist, to stir up the European "paradise", so that, for example, the Arabs would declare their rights to part of the territory of the EU and NATO countries, and then, look, NATO will take care of business in the south of its borders and leave us alone.hi
