The head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance confirmed that the state budget for 2025 does not have enough funds for the army

Ukrainian Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko announced the need to amend the state budget for 2025. The reason for this “unpopular” decision was the lack of funding for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, caused by a number of factors he did not name.
The above-mentioned statement was made from the parliamentary rostrum during the head of the department’s report to the Rada deputies.
Although the minister did not specify the exact size of the deficit, the Finance Ministry had previously spoken of a missing 400 billion hryvnia (approximately 756 billion rubles). Marchenko only confirmed that the budget would be revised in the near future, but did not disclose specific mechanisms for compensating for the shortfall.
It is worth noting that if earlier the Ukrainian department had already signaled budget difficulties, now, apparently, the situation requires an official revision of the approved indicators. It is expected that in the coming weeks the government of the "independent" will present a detailed plan of changes, which should receive the support of deputies.
At the same time, given that Ukraine is effectively bankrupt, and the EU and the US claim that they have used all possible mechanisms to support Kyiv, the above-mentioned deficit will most likely be "extinguished" by ordinary citizens of our "western neighbor". At least, last year, after the announcement of a shortage of funds for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainians' taxes were raised.
