China began to move army units and heavy artillery. As transmits RIA News", PLA moves tanks and military equipment to the territories bordering the DPRK, which may be directly related to the recent announcement by the North Koreans of their readiness to respond to provocations under the "laws of war." This is described on the website of the newspaper The Washington Times. Anonymous US representatives are called intelligence sources.
The “movement” of the PRC troops in the border zones began as if in the middle of March, at present this process is only continuing. In the province of Liaoning, there has been a displacement of army units and heavy artillery of the People’s Liberation Army of China, including the 190 Motorcycle Brigade. A large number of fighters appeared in the sky over the border cities of Fucheng (Hebei Province), Zhan'u and Changchun (Liaoning Province). As the American edition, these combat units in the event of conflicts in the region will be able to respond to them.
RIA "News"Recalls that China is in favor of denuclearizing the Korean Peninsula and calls on all interested parties to solve problems related to the Korean nuclear program through negotiation."
Extension of Japanese sanctions against the DPRK. The Japanese government today decided to extend for two years unilateral sanctions against the DPRK - those that expired on April 13. This was reported by the agency "Kyodo", transmits correspondent RIA "Novosti" Ekaterina Plyasunkova.
The sanctions adopted in 2006 include a ban on the import of goods from the DPRK, the entry of North Korean ships into Japanese ports, as well as tight controls on goods exported to North Korea. After the DPRK conducted nuclear tests in 2009, Japan announced the complete cessation of trading activities with this country. Until 2009, the sanctions package was extended every 6 months, but after nuclear testing, the duration of the restrictions was extended to one year.
The decision of the Japanese authorities to extend the term of the sanctions to two years at once was taken in protest against the policy of the DPRK and the launch of the launch vehicle with a satellite and the third nuclear test.
Caricatures of the leader of the working people. Hackers broke into two North Korean sites controlled by the DPRK government. Accounts on the Twitter microblogging network and on the well-known flickr photovideo hosting site came under cyber attack, according to "Vesti" with reference to ITAR-TASS.
Notes on the events and photos of the meeting of Kim Jong-un with the war ministers on Flickr appeared a caricature of the North Korean leader. text messages were also posted accusing the DPRK leadership that the country was spending huge amounts of money on military needs, while the majority of the people in the country were starving.
On Twitter, notes were posted with links to various sites containing provocative information. One of the messages contains a message from the “hacktivist” group Anonymous.
Welcome from the mullah. Salafi Sheikh Yasir al-Adzhlavni, who was born in Jordan and 17 for years living in Damascus, posted his appeal on YouTube - a “legitimate fatwa” for Muslims who are waging war against Assad and trying to establish sharia. The fatwa allows Sunni rebels to “capture and have sex” with Alawite, non-Muslim and non-Sunni women, reports "Sight" with reference to The Washington Times.
Mullah calls non-Muslim women the Arabic term "malk al-yamin", which is called sex slaves in the Qur'an.
Earlier, Saudi preacher Mohammed al-Arifi “gave the right” to the jihad soldiers for “an act of marriage” with Syrian women and called for “to give their turn to each soldier”.
Who will get 48 tons of Russian humanitarian aid? Yevgeny Poddubny ("Vesti") told that the first batch of humanitarian aid for Syrian refugees was delivered from Moscow to Amman (Jordan): the EMERCOM flight brought more than 48 tons of food. True, there is no guarantee that help will reach the addressees: the Mafia takes away the products. Refugee camps have become separate cities where criminals thrive.
For example, in Zaatari, where thousands of refugees live around 200, there is not enough food, water, or medicine. The refugees say that part of the humanitarian aid is already intercepted by criminal groups, and then after being sold in the market in the center of the camp. The crime rate in the camp does not fall, but grows in the country every month. Some officials say that Jordan is on the verge of a humanitarian catastrophe.
In Africa, they did not recognize Jotodiya. African leaders refused to recognize Michel Jotodiu, the rebel group leader Séléka, as president of the Central African Republic. According to "Lenta.ru" With reference to France-Presse, this decision was made on April 3 at the summit of the Economic Community of Central African Countries (ECOCAS), which was held in Chad.
As stated by the President of Chad, Idris Déby, a committee should be created in the CAR, which will represent the executive branch during the transitional period, and also elect a provisional president for a period of not more than one and a half years. Otherwise, countries are not ready to recognize the provisional head of state.
Nuclear Britain. In the face of the growing threat from the DPRK and Iran, the UK is obliged to have nuclear weapon. This was stated by Prime Minister David Cameron, reports correspondent ITAR-TASS Vladimir Kalinin.
The head of the British government arrived in Glasgow by helicopter yesterday, and from there he went to the naval base, where he visited the Victorious submarine. “The only way to counter this constant threat,” Cameron said on board the submarine, “is to develop his own defense industry.” We need nuclear deterrence now more than ever. After the end of the Cold War, the nuclear threat did not disappear, but on the contrary, it increased. Only the presence of its own missiles and warheads can guarantee an asymmetrical and incomparable response to the strike of a potential enemy in the UK or one of its allies. ”
So, the prime minister once again urged the government of the country not to abandon the expensive plans to replace the Trident ballistic missiles with new nuclear weapons. This is consistently opposed by the Liberal Democrats - the partners of the Conservative Party in the ruling coalition. In addition, Ed Miliband, the head of the united opposition and the leader of the Labor Party, has more than once spoken out at the criticism of these “inconsistent with the spirit of the times” plans.
“Under current conditions, it would be foolish to leave the country defenseless in the face of the growing threat from the DPRK, which has very dangerous nuclear technologies, and Iran, which continues to test the patience of the world community,” Cameron says. If the North Korean missiles can reach the territory of the United States, the United Kingdom could be in danger, he said.
More Red Square? Sergey Podosenov ("News") told that the Polish authorities are asking to allocate territory in 100 thousand square meters. m in the Smolensk region - under the memorial at the crash site in 2010, the liner Tu-154, in which the president of the country Lech Kaczynski and members of the government of the country flew. Izvestia has at its disposal a plan of the memorial prepared by the Poles.
The building plans of the memorial complex, in addition to the memorable building itself, 115 m long, provide for the construction of a chapel, the creation of a museum exposition, as well as security and parking zones.
“The Poles are asking for a territory larger than Red Square (90 thousand sq. M. -“ Izvestia ”). It will be strange if we satisfy her. Residents of the region will not understand if the memorial takes so much space, ”an unnamed source in the Smolensk administration told Izvestia.
Izvestia reminds us that an agreement on the creation of a memorial to those killed in the disaster near Smolensk was reached by Dmitry Medvedev and Bronislav Komorowski in 2011 year. The Poles were supposed to finance the creation of the memorial, and the Russian side - to equip its territory.
Romania and Moldova: a constitutional merger? The Romanian Constitution was proposed to make an amendment on the possibility of its reunification with Moldova. With such an initiative, as transmits "Lenta.ru" With reference to Moldnews and the REGNUM news agency, the Actiunea2012 movement came out.
The proposal will be presented at the Constitutional Forum, at which draft amendments to the basic law of Romania are submitted. In the autumn, these amendments will be submitted to a referendum.
The amendment proposed by the unionists states: “Romania can reunite in a peaceful, democratic and free way, based on the approval of both sides with any subject of international law that has become sovereign and independent as a result of the separation of the Romanian people during the tragic events of World War II and in general, occurred in the twentieth century.
The authors of the initiative refer to the international experience of states that were divided for one reason or another, and later reunited (for example, Germany or Vietnam). “Romania is one of the countries that was divided during the Second World War and the Cold War. When we talk about the Republic of Moldova, we are in fact talking about Eastern Romania, ”said the co-chair of the movement, Alexandru Surcel.
With a similar proposal, recalls "Lenta", spoke in the Romanian Parliament. The representative of the nationalist People’s Party, Eugen Michalake, as the Tribune reported earlier, said that the new constitution should include “at least one article concerning the common future of Romania and Bessarabia”.
Uzbekistan: guest workers dried up in the country. The Gallup poll, which was conducted from 2010 to 2012 years, showed: Uzbekistan ranked last - the twelfth - among the countries of the former Soviet Union whose residents would like to move abroad, writes "Lenta.ru".
The survey involved just over 40 thousand people aged from 15 years and older. The respondents were asked if they would change their place of permanent residence if they had the opportunity. Only 5% of inhabitants of Uzbekistan answered this question positively. The largest number of people willing to go abroad, around 40%, turned out to be in Armenia. This is followed by Moldova (32%), Ukraine (21), Belarus and Kyrgyzstan (17 and 16 percent, respectively). Russia ranked sixth in the ranking: here, the desire to leave the country permanently was expressed by 14% of respondents. Similar results are for Azerbaijan and Georgia.
13% of respondents would like to leave Kazakhstan, 11 - Tajikistan. Six percent of the respondents would leave Turkmenistan.
On average, about 15% of the adult population of the former Soviet republics want to change their place of residence. Half of potential migrants intend to raise their standard of living. Approximately the same number of respondents, about ten percent, reported that they would do it for the sake of the future of children or to find a good job.
Latvian nationalists will send "non-citizens" to America. The original proposal was made by a member of the board of the nationalist party “Visu Latvijai!” (“Everything is for Latvia!”) Konstantin Pupurs, reports "Lenta.ru" with reference to Mixnews.
The nationalist argues as follows: “We diligently executed the directives of the western countries - the EU and the USA. We were good. So why not help us solve this issue and relieve stress. Why would the countries of immigrants - the USA, Canada - not take a part of non-citizens to themselves. ”
According to Mr. Pupurs, Americans could "automatically" issue green cards to non-citizens who wish to emigrate.
Recalling the outflow of the population from Latvia after the collapse of the USSR (“We have already forced thousands of people to leave the country 350, who will never return”), a representative of “Visu Latvijai!” Said that “it’s better to let non-citizens leave who don’t like everything here” .
Russian gas was a threat to the national security of Ukraine. The Kyiv District Administrative Court began the process following a lawsuit filed by the director of the local law firm, Stanislav Batrin. He demands from the Ukrainian leadership not to eliminate anything, but a threat to national security that results from the contracts with Russia for gas supply concluded by the authorities in 2009 during the year, reports "RT" with reference to ITAR-TASS.
Kiev court began the process after it recognized the claims of the plaintiff grounded. Batrin told this to the newspaper Ukrainskaya Pravda. In the statement of claim, the lawyer referred to the fact that the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC), which is headed by the president of the country and is one of the key bodies in the system of power structures, recognized the gas contracts with Russia as a de facto threat to national security. We are talking about the meeting of the National Security Council, held in January 2012 year. According to its results, the NSDC Secretary Raisa Bogatyreva stated: “It is necessary to state: under the circumstances, there was in fact a real threat to the national security of Ukraine. The disadvantageous conditions of this agreement drove Ukraine’s economy into a difficult situation. ”
The court recognized the arguments of the lawyer as justified, and his demand was legitimate, and decided to start the process: “Attract as a third party, who does not declare independent claims on the subject of the dispute, on the side of the defendants of the NJSC“ Naftogaz of Ukraine ”. Offer the defendants and the third party to submit to the court written objections to the claim and all the evidence in support of them available to the defendant. "
In Kiev, many politicians, as well as representatives of the country's top leadership, have repeatedly stated their intention to revise the agreement. But in March, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov acknowledged that it was impossible to terminate a contract in court: there are no legal grounds for this.
Russian voice from Switzerland. Martha Schmid ("Frankfurter Rundschau"source abbr. translation - "Inopressa") interviewed the laureate of the Big Book, Mikhail Shishkin, who recently declared that he was ashamed of his country.
In an interview, Mr. Shishkin said that “the events of the past year had greatly changed the situation in Russia”: after the falsification of the Duma and presidential elections, “the contempt of the absolutely corrupt government for the people outraged people,” but instead of dialogue with the opposition, the regime “tightened the screws” and “ declared war on civil society. "
The writer says: “The illegitimate Duma passes laws that reject the country in the Middle Ages. Dozens of political prisoners are in prison. The courts became supporters of power. And state television, the only source of information for the majority of the population, is restoring the old picture of the world: Russia, the holy land, is surrounded by enemies; only a strong leader Putin can resist chaos and the West; all disgruntled are western agents. I do not want to represent this official Russia. ”
According to him, “The Federal Agency for Press and Mass Communication, our Ministry of Propaganda, has the task of improving the tarnished image of Putin’s Russia,” and international book fairs are suitable for this purpose as well as possible. He notes that he was very pleased that his letter caused a wave of support, since "cultural institutions depend on the state, and everyone is afraid of Putin's revenge."
On the "protesting" writer Shishkin on "IN" has already been told - in the issue "Geopolitical Mosaic" (an episode entitled “Mikhail Shishkin about impostors, insane laws, prostitutes and the Russian Middle Ages”).
The decline of Europe? According to the Eurostat agency, unemployment in the EU states in February 2013 of the year reached its highest level since the introduction of the euro into cash, reports Oleg Severgin ("Voice of Russia").
The agency’s report says that in February, a million people in the single currency area did not have a 19,07 job, which is thousands more on 33 than in the previous month. And compared with last February, the growth was 1,8 million people. The number of people unoccupied in the 17 states of the euro area has thus reached 12%. This is a record figure for the last 11 years. In general, in the European Union, the unemployment plan rose in February to 10,9%. It was even higher in the “problem” countries. But if in Portugal the number of jobs lost was 17,5%, then in countries such as Greece and Spain, this figure exceeded 26%.
The EU Commissioner for Labor and Social Affairs, Laszlo Andor, quoted by the German newspaper Junge Welt, called the data Eurostat "a tragedy for Europe."
Against this background, the EUobserver portal writes about the growth in Europe of doubts about the benefits of EU membership.
And according to the results of the study of the German fund "Questions of the Future", provided to the Voice of Russia by its supervisor, Professor Ulrich Reinhardt, from percent 60 to 75 Germans trust only family and friends. Banks are trusted with 5%, politicians with 3, and batches with just 1 percent.
Russia is in debt like silk. The website of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation reports that in the first quarter of 2013, Russia's foreign debt increased from 632 to 684 billion dollars, reports KM.ru.
The growth of debt was secured mainly by the non-financial sector: its debt grew from 366 to 412 billions of dollars. Government liabilities decreased by 1,4 billion dollars, and banks' debt rose by 4 billion dollars.
According to Nezavisimaya Gazeta, the growth of corporate debt is the most alarming for experts. Last year, national debt rose to 6,5 trillion rubles (by 22%), which is 10,5% of GDP. The Accounting Chamber has already promised to test the effectiveness of the debt policy of eleven state-owned corporations.
As KM.ru reminds, earlier in the Accounting Chamber it was stated that Russia's total foreign debt in recent years has been growing steadily: in 2012, it increased by 92 billion dollars, in 2011, in 50 billion dollars.
Russia, gray and drunk. Timothy Helenyak (Chatham House, Great Britain; source of translation - "InoSMI") cited some Russian demographic data: population - 142,9 million people; at the age of 65 years and older - 13%; life expectancy at birth is 66,5 years; population in 2050 year - 114,12 million people.
Timothy Helenyak is the head of the research department of the American Geographical Society and a researcher at the University of Maryland.
The author points out that the life expectancy of men in Russia in 1994 decreased to 57,5 years compared to the already low 64,9 level of years in 1987, but the life expectancy of women by 12 years is greater than that of men, and by this indicator Russia leads in the world. Such a difference is mainly due to the high mortality of men due to cardiovascular diseases and for reasons of an external nature, such as murder, suicide, accident, poisoning. All of these factors led to a reduction in Russia's population to 142,9 million people, compared with the maximum 148,6 million in 1993 year. Where do people come from in Russia? High mortality is partly offset by the influx of migrants from the former republics of the Soviet Union.
By 2040, the American expert continues, the average age of Russians will be 44,9 years, and as a result, the country will become one of the oldest in the post-Soviet space and almost the oldest in the world.
The measures taken (programs to increase the birth rate, the fight against smoking, the anti-alcohol program, etc.) turned out to be ineffective, according to the author. Russian men are still among the world's top consumers of alcohol and tobacco.
As for the growth in the number of Russians of “foreign origin” (today they make up 9% of the total population), the analyst connects this process with the continuous immigration and natural decline of ethnic Russians.
"Paternalism without ideology." "InoPressa" made a review of the Western media on the Russian economy. We give some indicative excerpts.
The Central Bank of Russia 2 April left the discount rate unchanged (8,25%) due to the “inflation risk”, writes the French newspaper Le Monde.
“No matter how much Prime Minister Medvedev plans for 5-percent economic growth, which, in his opinion, is achievable by lowering rates, there are all signs of a slowdown in activity,” a Mari Zhego correspondent reports. Consumption is decreasing, the recession in the EU has reduced the demand for energy and metals, the growth rate of the Russian economy has fallen to the lowest level since the crisis of the 2009 year. Another cause for concern is the crisis in Cyprus. Putin’s generous campaign promises were also questionable. While “Putinism”, this paternalism without ideology, is losing momentum, the rental economy model is running out of steam. Having exhausted its potential, the economy needs to diversify to recover. Therefore, the priority is to improve the business climate in order to attract investment, the journalist sums up.
The Russian ruble is weakening amid fears of lower interest rates, write Alexander Kolandr and Andrei Ostroukh in the blog "The Wall Street Journal". The Russian ruble fell on Wednesday to the lowest level since November against the US dollar amid growing concerns that the Central Bank would give in to increasing political pressure to ease monetary policy. In recent months, economic growth has stalled, amounting to just 0,1% in February, and political leaders, starting with Vladimir Putin, have publicly urged the Central Bank to lower rates. But Sergei Ignatiev did not give in to pressure, citing the risk of rising inflation. What's next? The slowdown has increased, and Putin puts Elvira Nabiullina in place of Ignatiev. So, the government puts pressure on the policy of the Central Bank.
From the words of Deputy Prime Minister Olga Golodets, it becomes clear that the Russian government has no idea how 44% of the working-age population of Russia makes a living. It is about 38 million. Russian officials are generally unable to track all employees and income taxes, writes Sergey The Loiko in The Los Angeles Times.
Many workers hide information about their earnings, as they do not trust the authorities. "Russia as a state has very bad credit история in the eyes of his citizens: they have already been confronted many times with deception and unfair treatment, ”said observer Irina Yassina. Further, Loyko cites a story by a Moscow-based entrepreneur Andrey, who provides apartment repair services and does not pay a penny of taxes: “What has the state done for me and for my family, or for all these guys I hire? Why do we have to pay for the luxurious 13-room apartment of the mistress of the former Minister of Defense and other such abominations? ”
The growth of Russian arms exports. Arms exports from Russia to 2012 increased by 12% to 15,2 billion dollars. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting of the commission on military-technical cooperation with foreign countries, adding that the order book amounts to 46,3 billion dollars, reports ARMS-TASS.
“This is one of the best indicators in this field of activity, and it can be said with confidence that Russia is one of the undisputed leaders in the sales of weapons and special equipment; we have more than a quarter of the world market, only the United States is close by, ”said the president.
“Supplies of Russian special military equipment are carried out in 66 countries, and we have agreements on military-technical cooperation with 75 countries, that is, there is also a prospect for the development of these relations with a significant number of states,” Putin noted, recalling that the order book is 46,3 billion dollars. "It is necessary to develop these positive trends, because it is a very significant contribution not only to the state budget, but also to the development of high technologies," the president stressed.
Scandal with a microphone: "This old witch is even worse than that cross-eyed." Uruguayan President José Mujica called the head of Argentina, Christina Kirchner, "the old witch". Reports about it "Lenta.ru" with links to El Observador and other sources.
Yesterday, Comrade Mujica, waiting for the start of the press conference, talked with one of his subordinates. Not noticing that the microphone had already been turned on, he said the phrase: “This old witch is even worse than that cross-eyed one.”
Many South American journalists immediately suggested that the phrase referred to Argentine President Cristina Kirchner and her late husband Nestor Kirchner, who was her predecessor as Argentine President and died in 2010 year.
As the Buenos Aires Herald points out, the Argentine Foreign Ministry summoned the Ambassador of Uruguay, Guillermo Pomi, and handed him a note of protest. The Foreign Ministry called the statements of the President of Uruguay "unacceptable and insulting the memory" of the late Nestor Kirchner. Christine Kirchner herself refrained from commenting.
A few hours after the news appeared in the media, the President of Uruguay, as reported by France-Presse, said that his words did not apply to Christine Kirchner and her late husband. He added that he was not going to make excuses about this.
Corr. RIA Novosti Oleg Vyazmitinov quoted the words of the President of Uruguay: "I will not ... run around the world and explain something. Let them invent all sorts of nonsense. ”
All the ills of the world are in corruption. The G20 countries must work out effective anti-corruption measures, which is one of the main causes of the global economic crisis that began in 2008. So say the participants in the forum of the heads of parliaments of the G-20 held in the capital of Mexico, reports correspondent RIA "News" Dmitry Znamensky.
“Having accurate, reliable, and global financial regulation is a requirement that the whole world places on us,” Ernesto Cordero, head of the Mexican senate, said yesterday. According to him, the 2008 crisis of the year and its consequences hit primarily thousands of simple families in different parts of the world. “The irresponsible work of the financial system in one country (in the context of globalization) created the conditions under which the accumulations of the entire life of families or pensioners in another country, located thousands of kilometers away, suffered,” he stressed.
That is why, the head of the Senate continued, from now on, it is precisely financial regulation that becomes a worldwide topic, and each of the G20 countries should adopt its own laws in this area. An important point in the fight against money laundering Cordero considers the introduction of restrictions on the circulation of cash and the transition to the use of electronic calculations.
Two movies about Gorbachev. The TV channel “Bi-bi-ou”, producers Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks announced yesterday about plans to tell Mikhail Gorbachev’s own film history. The script will write John Shiban, known for the TV series "The X-Files", reports correspondent ITAR-TASS Alexander Urusov.
M. Gorbachev and his translator Pavel Polazhchenko will act as consultants to the film crew. The plot is centered on the collapse of the USSR and the role of Gorbachev in ending the Cold War.
British director Mike Newell plans to film Reykjavik in the USA. His desire is to remind the viewer about the historic meeting of the leader of the USSR (he will be played by Christophe Waltz) with American President Ronald Reagan (Michael Douglas will play his role) in October 1986 of the year.
Another drunkard and libertine. The general, who headed the joint operational unit, which is part of the African Command of the US Armed Forces (“Afrikom”), was removed from his post with the phrase “For alcohol abuse and sexual promiscuity”, reports RIA News" with reference to the Associated Press.
Major General Ralph Baker lost his post. According to the agency interlocutor, the major general headed the Djibouti-based unit in May 2012. The head of "Afrikoma" General Carter Ham 28 March removed him from this post as a result of an internal audit.
However, a high-ranking military officer flew to Washington and complained to Chuck Hagel. (To be continued…)
Is American nuclear cemetery about to explode? Kirill Rozhkov (Utro.ru) said that the “Hanford Nuclear Reservation” cemetery in the USA, where a major nuclear waste was recently leaked, could explode at any time.
The fact is that hydrogen accumulated in the storage can react with oxygen - and then the tragedy cannot be avoided. Such recognition was made at the Nuclear Safety Council in response to a request from Democratic Senator Ron Wyden. Residents of Hanford in Washington State are in danger.
Comrade Rozhkov reminds that for the first time it became known about the leakage of radioactive waste in the burial ground in mid-February. Authorities reported that only one of the 177 tanks was damaged, and on average 150-300 gallons per year (roughly 500-1000 liters) of radioactive substances resulted from it. Later, State Governor Jay Insley said that there were six underground tanks in disrepair.
If there is no water in the American tap, then it drank it ... John Kerry. The results of a curious study conducted by the American sociological company Public Policy Polling probably stunned the Americans themselves. By the way, this study is not an April Fool's joke, reports "RT".
The survey was conducted from 27 to 30 in March 2013 of the year. The study involved 1 thousand 247 Americans eligible to vote. The purpose of the survey - an analysis of common American misconceptions.
Among the "conspiracy theories" the theory of global warming turned out to be the most popular: 40% of Americans consider it fake.
In second place is the theory of the presence of aliens on Earth: 29% of US residents believe in their existence.
The third position in the "rating" was taken by the theory of "a secret society that seeks to seize power over the world." 28% of Americans believe in this society. The same number of respondents believe that Saddam Hussein personally organized the attacks on the World Trade Center.
20% of Americans surveyed believe that vaccinations in infancy can lead to the development of autism in children.
Another 15% of Americans are convinced that the government is transmitting special signals via television. The same number of people believe in the invention by medical companies of new diseases. For what? To cash in on the appropriate medications.
14% of US residents believe in the existence of a snowman. Approximately the same number believe that the CIA is responsible for the distribution of heroin and cocaine in the cities of the southern United States.
The theory that the US authorities are under the control of forces hostile to a person was in sixth place on the list of misconceptions. 13% of Americans consider Barack Obama to be the incarnation of the antichrist, while other 13% “doubt” the diabolical essence of the president.
9% of respondents believe that the US government is manipulating water supplies for secret purposes.
Finally, 4% of Americans said that the survey does not make sense: after all, earthly governments control huge humanoid lizards. And the lizards change shape, successfully posing as politicians.
Russian image will be made by Americans. Officials are confident that Russia's problems lie not only in the poor quality of government institutions and the judicial system, but also in a bad image. If it is changed, then foreign capitals will flow to Russia. At the beginning of 2013, the government hired American investment bank Goldman Sachs for 500000 dollars, which should help improve Russia's image, reports Interfax.
Officials created a permanent group, which included employees of the presidential administration, the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Finance and other departments, representatives of Sberbank, Ketchum Maslov PR Agency and Goldman Sachs. Responsibility for promoting the image of Russia abroad was decided to be entrusted to the Ministry of Economic Development.
Russia has three main tools for increasing its investment attractiveness: a) you need to understand how best to convey “objective information” about Russia to the Western investment and expert community; b) investors and experts should be informed about the positive actions of the government to improve the investment climate; c) it is necessary to promote the brands of Russian state and private companies abroad.
Members of the group have already come up with an "activity algorithm". Its essence is as follows: to convince only a few dozen reputable international experts that Russia is quite a safe and promising place for investment. Then these experts - Western journalists, economists, political scientists - will convince the whole world of this. The list included former US ambassadors to Russia, well-known economists, for example, Nouriel Roubini, heads of investment companies, including Bill Gross and Mohammed El-Erian of PIMCO. There are about 80 surnames in the list: approximately 50 journalists and publicists, about 30 heads of investment funds and members of their boards of directors. Among the journalists should be called Charles Clover (Moscow Financial Times bureau) and Edward Lucas, editor of The Economist.
Neither Roubini nor Clover, we add from you, you can’t call the Russian glorified even with a stretch.
Moreover, William Browder was also on the list, against whom the Russian authorities had recently opened a criminal case.
As Interfax notes, many participants in the list are extremely negative towards the Russian authorities and do not plan to fall in love with Russia in the near future. Foreign experts believe that this program is a substitution of concepts. Russia needs reform, not propaganda.
The program was highly appreciated only by the Russian participant in the list - the Rector of NES Sergey Guriev.
It is very doubtful, we note that many outspoken "dislikes" of Russia after cheap PR from Goldman Sachs will turn their swords into plowshares. Is that “Goldman Sachs” will give them half the dollars received.
Russians will become immortal in 2045. As the Hindustan Times (translation source - GearMix.ru), Russian 32-year-old billionaire Dmitry Itskov revealed the data of his project, in which he hopes to give people immortality.
The main goal of the 2045 Initiative is to transfer the human mind from the living brain to the machine while preserving the personality and memories. The cyborgs of Comrade Itkova will not be physically fit and will exist within a network similar to the Internet. They will also be able to travel at the speed of light, both on the Earth and in space.
Its program's minimum program is the Avatar A project, which will give a person the ability to control a robotic body with a neuromachine interface by 2020 for a year (this technology already exists). Further, the Avatar B phase of 2025 will make it possible for a human brain to be transplanted into an artificial body “at the end of its life”. The Avatar C phase of 2035 will also include neuromachin transplantation, but with preservation of the personality and the memories of the person.
Itskov expects that the Initiative program will learn so much about the human mind that it will completely free him from his physical form by the 2045 year.
“We believe that this is possible and even necessary: to destroy aging and death itself, and overcome the fundamental limitations of physical and mental abilities that our physical body now imposes on us,” the project website says.
Now Comrade Itskov is recruiting scientists for the project and is going to send a letter to the UN Secretary General. The latter, according to the initiator of the program, should support the transition to “non-humanity”.
