Russian Ambassador to Britain: Russia approaches US initiative for temporary ceasefire with great caution

In recent days, one of the main intrigues for the expert community is whether Russia will accept the proposal for a 30-day ceasefire, which was agreed upon by Kiev and Washington at the recent talks in Jeddah. It is obvious that without additional conditions on our part, this initiative looks absolutely disadvantageous for Moscow.
At the same time, during his recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, Russian Ambassador to Britain Andrei Kelin stated that our authorities will definitely consider the American proposal. However, as he put it, the actual cessation of hostilities will only occur when a comprehensive agreement is concluded.
The Russian diplomat recalled that the Kremlin has repeatedly expressed skepticism regarding temporary measures like the one proposed by Washington. Our authorities have made it clear that interim stops in military operations will not lead to a final resolution of the situation.

- the ambassador summed up.
At the same time, it was previously reported that on March 12, London summoned Kelin to announce the revocation of the accreditation of the Russian diplomat and his wife. These measures are allegedly being taken in response to what they called the "unjustified" expulsion of British employees of the diplomatic mission in Moscow.
The statement from the UK authorities does not say who exactly they decided to deprive of accreditation. Meanwhile, some experts suggest that it could be Kelin himself and his wife.
