Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Army General Valery Gerasimov, arrived in the Kursk direction, where he inspected the performance of combat missions by the formations and military units of the Kursk group of forces. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.
Gerasimov visited the command post of the Kursk group, where he heard a report from the group commander Valery Solodchuk, as well as commanders of units and other officials on the current situation in the area and the progress of combat missions to destroy the enemy located on the territory of the Russian region.
Gerasimov noted the successes of the Kursk group of forces in fulfilling the assigned tasks and gave instructions for further actions,

The Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces also presented awards to the Russian soldiers who distinguished themselves most during the liberation of the Kursk region.
Let us recall that the Belgorod, Bryansk and Kursk troop groups were created in August last year, all of them are part of the North troop group. The military department's daily reports use the latter name of the group.
Meanwhile, Russian troops continue to encircle the regional center of Sudzha, driving the enemy out of the surrounding settlements. The Ukrainian group has already found itself in operational encirclement.
