Special Operations Center in Kubinka
As expected, the center is designed for 500 special forces contract soldiers. According to the current schedule, the formation of the Special Purpose Center will be completed at the end of 2013. In Kubinka-2 there will be additional training under the special program of junior command personnel of special purpose groups of military districts and fleets. It is planned to spend about 700 million rubles for the construction of service housing for contract employees. The new center is subordinated directly to the command of the special operations forces of the Ministry of Defense of Russia. The creation of this command was announced at the beginning of March 2013. According to General of the Army Valery Gerasimov, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia, the formation of the command has already been completed, it is based on the successful experience of the leading states of the world in military conflicts of the 21st century. According to a number of media reports, special operations forces in addition to special forces of the Ministry of Defense will also include special forces of the Federal Security Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Federal Guard Service, the Federal Penitentiary Service and the Federal Service for Drug Control. According to a newspaper source, in the military districts, the operational control of the special forces of the security services will be transferred to the command of special operations only when necessary. For special operations abroad, it is planned to attract Special Forces of the Ministry of Defense "Senezh", Airborne Forces, Special Forces Brigade of the Main Intelligence Directorate and Special Forces "Thunder". Inside the country, such operations will be conducted by internal troops, units of the Federal Penitentiary Service and the Federal Security Service.
