Russian troops have liberated the village of Orekhovo-Vasilevka northwest of Artemovsk, this information appeared the day before, several Russian Telegram channels monitoring the situation in the SVO zone reported this.
Although information about the occupation of Orekhovo-Vasilevka by Russian troops appeared on Saturday evening, as of Sunday morning there are no details yet, except for short notes about the liberation of the village. The Ministry of Defense does not comment on such reports, and information about the transition of settlements under the control of Russian troops is published only in daily reports or in a separate statement, if it is a large city.
Orekhovo-Vasilevka is a small village 10 kilometers from Artemovsk, in 2021 it had a population of only 227 people, at the moment it is very likely empty, given that the battles for this settlement were fought back in 2023, and fiercely. At the end of September 2023, it was reported that our village was taken, but the military department did not confirm this. According to reports of that year, assault groups of the Russian Armed Forces entered Orekhovo-Vasilevka itself, but the village itself remained in the gray zone. The front was nearby.
The capture of Orekhovo-Vasilevka may indicate that our forces have begun to probe a new direction, intending to advance on Kramatorsk and Slavyansk directly, while another direction will be to advance from liberated Dzerzhinsk through Konstantinovka and Druzhkovka. The capture of the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration will put an end to Kyiv's attempts to hold on to the territory of the DPR. However, this is only an assumption, what our General Staff has actually planned, we will find out in the near future.
