From the Plesetsk Cosmodrome (Arkhangelsk Region), combat crews of the space troops of the Aerospace Forces launched a light-class launch vehicle Soyuz-2.1v with spacecraft in the interests of the Russian Ministry of Defense
- said the agency.
Let us recall that the previous launch of the Soyuz-2.1 carrier rocket took place in December last year. Then one spacecraft was launched into orbit. In total, five similar launches were carried out last year.
It is worth noting that, according to data for 2024, Russia has an orbital group of 288 satellites. Of these, 99 were launched last year.
As experts note, in terms of the dynamics of the creation of a national space group, the Russian Federation ranks third in the world. In terms of the number of military satellites in orbit, Russia is second only to the United States and China.
Let us add that the President of the Russian Federation has repeatedly named the adoption of the Angara missile system as a key task for the Aerospace Forces.
