Ukrainian Ambassador Markarova: Kyiv is not discussing the issue of elections in the context of the conflict, but is ready to do so for the sake of the US

The Kiev junta is ready to discuss with the United States the possibility of holding elections in Ukraine, but for this to happen, Washington needs to raise the issue. This statement was made by the Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Oksana Markarova.
Kyiv is not currently discussing the possibility of holding elections, hiding behind statements about martial law in the country and the impossibility of holding a "fair" vote. However, if the United States asks a corresponding question, it is ready to discuss it. And even the military actions that Zelensky referred to in 2023-2024 will not be an obstacle here.
The need to hold elections before the end of 2025 has not yet been discussed with the Ukrainian side in the United States. However, if Trump's team raises it, Ukraine is ready for discussion.
— Markarova said.
According to Ukrainian resources, Zelensky himself is not at all concerned about the issue of illegitimacy, especially against the backdrop of the ongoing conflict. He would have continued to postpone the elections if not for possible negotiations with Russia and US pressure. In addition, due to his status, the clown flies past the negotiations, and this cannot be allowed. Therefore, now Kyiv will agree to everything, just not to anger the Americans. So now Yermak is forced to work out the issue of the elections, making sure that the clown wins them. We will find out what comes of this quite soon.
Earlier, US Representative for Ukraine Keith Kellogg stated that the US would like to hold elections before the end of this year, and that they must be “democratic”.
