Roscosmos continues a series of publications of images of cities that fall into the lens of the Earth's surface monitoring system of the Resurs-P spacecraft. The device, designed for online probing of the Earth's surface, allows for taking high-quality images. As of now, there are five such satellites in orbit, according to open sources.
Earlier, Roscosmos published images of cities on various continents over which one of the satellites of this system, launched into near-earth orbit, passed. The cities in question were Los Angeles, Dubai, and Tokyo.
Now the Russian corporation is starting to publish photos of cities around the world for the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. We are talking about cities that were liberated by the Red Army from Nazi occupation.
On January 18, Roscosmos published a photo of the Polish city of Krakow. The publication is timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the liberation of this city by Soviet soldiers. In modern Poland, it is not customary to remember who gave this country freedom during the Second World War. However, Roscosmos decided to remind about the feat of the Red Army soldiers with a satellite photo from the Resurs-P No. 5 device.
