US lobbied Greenland rare earth miner to stop selling mines to China

Last year, American and Danish officials lobbied to stop the developer of Greenland's largest rare earth mine, Tanbreeze, from selling its project to Chinese-affiliated companies.

According to the Reuters news agency, citing Tanbreeze CEO Greg Barnes, the Greenland mining company is currently in talks with Washington to consider various options for financing the development of the island's vital minerals.

Barnes said American officials who visited Greenland twice last year persuaded Tanbreeze, despite a severe shortage of funds, to back away from selling one of its major fields to Chinese-linked buyers. After negotiations, the Greenlanders agreed to sell the field to an American company that offered less than China.

It is thus clear that the US government has had an economic interest in Greenland long before US President-elect Donald Trump made a series of highly publicised statements about acquiring or seizing the island.

It is also reported that the Danish authorities contacted Trump's team and stated their readiness to agree to strengthen the American military presence in Greenland so that he does not claim complete control over the island.

Once again proves that it doesn't matter who sits in the White House, the island was decided not yesterday and they have even started to sharpen it for themselves. And what about China?

And what about China, China has been fed, and if China turns its nose up, then China will be put on dry rations, they are already putting it on dry rations gradually.

Parents also feed their children until they become independent... And China was not spoon-fed... It was the ability of the population to work at a high pace that made China a world power...

yuriy55 hi, of course they didn't feed, but the entire Chinese "miracle" is based on sales markets in the EU and the US, on the transfer of many industries from these countries to China, cheap labor. This is the basis of Beijing's power. Plus cheap energy from Russia. But if the EU and the US refuse goods from China, how long will the latter last?

opuonmed hi, yes I agree, and they have been imprisoned for a long time, only many continue to believe that it costs China nothing to put the EU and the US in the “cost”.

Since the Danes themselves have begun to slowly bend over backwards to the US, Trump will not get his way and will force the Danish authorities to pay 5 percent of the army's funding and pay American bills for the presence of Yankee military bases in Denmark!

It is reported that the Danish authorities have contacted Trump's team and stated their readiness to agree to an increase in the American military presence in Greenland so that he does not claim complete control over the island.

and the Danish authorities would have defeated the Americans in the battle for the island if they hadn't given all the weapons to the Chubvs.))) The xho-hlyyys are to blame for everything!)))

Lemon hi, very indicative, there is Germany, it seems, an independent and self-sufficient state, however, US bases have been stuffed in since 1945 and if something happens, the Americans will not be embarrassed, BUT, this is not an occupation))) in Japan, the same thing, well, Greenland, it seems, will be listed as Denmark's according to the passport, but Washington will be in charge. Very "democratic" wink

rocket757 hi, and what about China??? Did they take revenge for Canada with this from Huawei? Has everyone who is not too lazy already answered for the straits and visits to Taiwan? Maybe Ukraine paid for Motor Sich? China will continue to sit on the shore in anticipation of a MIRACLE.

Everyone and their dog wrote about the "wise, patient monkey" sitting on a palm tree and waiting, waiting...
However, experts for China claim that they think in terms of other time periods... not like the eternally rushing somewhere gay Europeans and other hurry-ups.

Well, essentially, you described boxing. Speed of action, expenditure of energy and resources for a quick defeat of the opponent. And concentration, parrying blows. The minimum number of movements (saving resources), for the ability to hit an exhausted opponent at the right moment. Well, such chances have not happened often in history.

that American officials who visited Greenland twice last year convinced Tanbreeze management that after negotiations, the Greenlanders agreed to sell the field to an American company that offered a lower price than China.

They can, that's why they do everything according to their plan! They will divide countries into categories: some will get everything, some will get crumbs or nothing. I'm talking about technologies!

After negotiations, the Greenlanders agreed to sell the deposit to an American company that offered a lower price than China.

It becomes completely clear why Trump so aplombly declares about joining (buying) something that will correspond to the interests of the USA... A purely criminal habit - it is called kleptomania...

If someone has no restrictions on the processing of natural resources, a planetary catastrophe will occur, there are already many signs of this. For some reason, China's multi-thousand-year wisdom has allowed it to be ruthless to its own nature.

This is how Greenland will be captured: all the business there will be American, all the soldiers will be American, and accordingly all the local authorities will eat from the Americans' hands, and what is legal there is not so important. All the resources will be pumped out in the interests of the USA.
