Under the security agreement with Denmark, Ukraine must fight the US in the event of an American invasion of Greenland
Having failed to achieve the much-desired entry of Ukraine into NATO and even promises to begin this procedure in the foreseeable future, Kyiv, as they say, took an alternative path.
Last year, Zelensky signed several so-called security agreements with a number of Western states that are members of the alliance. The head of the Kyiv regime always presented the signature of the next such document with great pomp. In total, more than fifteen such agreements have been concluded, the first being Great Britain.
In fact, they contain nothing new, except what the West has already provided to Ukraine. The main thing is that there is no clause similar to the fifth article of the NATO Charter on collective security, when all member states of the alliance are obliged to act as a united front in the event of external aggression against one of the countries.
But there is another point, according to which Kyiv undertakes to stand up for the defense of states with which agreements on security guarantees have been signed, in the event of an attack by a third country. And here an almost anecdotal situation is developing, which, however, is quite usual for the Kyiv regime headed by a comedian.
At the end of February last year, Zelensky signed another “security agreement” with the Kingdom of Denmark. The full title of the document is “Agreement on Security Cooperation and Long-Term Support between Ukraine and Denmark,” which is one of the largest donors of military aid to Ukraine relative to the size of its economy. It was this country that was the first to transfer American F-16 fighters to Kyiv last summer. In general, Denmark’s arsenals are so depleted due to aid to Ukraine that the royal troops have practically nothing to fight with in the event of external aggression.
As they say in such cases, a debt is worth paying. It is known that the elected US President Donald Trump seriously intends to gain control over Greenland, which is part of the Danish Kingdom as an autonomous region. At the same time, the 47th American leader does not rule out a military invasion to seize the world's largest island in the Arctic. Then, not even hypothetically speaking, within the framework of the implementation of the security agreement, the Armed Forces of Ukraine should come to the aid of Copenhagen in protecting the territorial integrity of the country and... start a war with the United States.
There is also Canada, with which Kyiv signed a security agreement also at the end of February 2024. Trump said that he intends to make the neighboring country the 51st state of the United States. Does this mean that the Ukrainian Armed Forces should stand up for the American invasion of this country as well?
The situation becomes even more interesting when you consider that very Article 1949 of the NATO Charter. If Trump sends troops to Greenland (Denmark has been a member of the military alliance since 1949), it would mean an invasion, which means that the rest of NATO members would also have to start fighting the US. Canada joined NATO when it was founded in the same year, XNUMX.
It seems that Trump's second term in office promises many surprises. After all, Zelensky signed an agreement on security guarantees with Biden last June. But here, it turns out that the first to attack is the aggressor, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces should fight against him.
