Kirby: White House believes Ukraine is not ready for talks with Russia due to 'weak positions'

The Joe Biden administration, which is resigning after Donald Trump's inauguration, believes that Ukraine is not ready for negotiations on a peaceful settlement of the conflict, said John Kirby, coordinator for strategic communications at the National Security Council.

At another press conference for journalists at the White House, answering a question about the situation around Ukraine and possible negotiations with Russia, Kirby said that Ukraine is not ready for them today. However, neither is Russia, he added. According to the Democrats, Kyiv's position is too weak now, so Zelensky will not be able to speak from a "position of strength."

There is no expectation at this point that either side is ready to enter into negotiations,

— said a White House spokesman, adding that the Biden administration is taking steps to support Ukraine that should strengthen its position on the battlefield by creating the “necessary” conditions for negotiations with Russia. In other words, Washington is supplying weapon, in order to defeat the Russian army and force Moscow to enter into dialogue on Kyiv’s terms.

Before this, for three years they “created conditions”, but achieved nothing, and this time nothing will come of it.

Russia has previously stated that it is ready for negotiations, but taking into account the previously announced conditions. At the same time, a number of Western experts believe that Russia does not really need negotiations, it can achieve all the necessary goals by military means. At the same time, the West will not be able to prevent Moscow from doing this, since it does not have the strength and means to do so. But there is a way to achieve the same thing peacefully, without unnecessary casualties, so Russia is ready to discuss the situation.

This is a story about how a singer or other buffoon easily changes his last name, gender and nationality for the sake of profit. This is a story about how in the Middle Ages singers, musicians and other buffoons were forbidden to be buried in cemeteries together with citizens, and were buried outside the cemetery fence together with suicides and domestic animals. And only in our time buffoons began to rule states.

I understand all this. Russia simply did not invest so much resources into the war that we could seriously expect a total collapse of the LBS by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. And demographically, we also have a VERY delicate situation for large-scale battles with large casualties and potentially unpredictable results.
But, be that as it may, this means that Ukraine has time to change the situation in its favor. Call up more soldiers, equip them better, train them. In the end, Ukraine can simply continue to hold the line, slowly retreating to the West, in the hope that we will accumulate internal discontent with what is happening. Only the lazy do not speak out about mortgages, interest rates, migrants and prices. Personally, I believe this is a consequence of the heating up of the economy in the interests of increasing military production, so the measures are necessary, but it does not cancel the fact.
On the battlefield, I think we will definitely not fail. Our margin of safety in this regard is far from exhausted. I am concerned about the possibility of noticeable internal discontent. The probability of this seems non-zero to me. I admit, this feeling is purely subjective, not supported by any logical arguments or anyone's research.

A normal thought, not devoid of logic. Even Putin himself said something like "we should have started earlier..."

Total collapse of the VSU can occur as a result of the cumulative effect of fatigue from defeats.
About demography - it's funny. If we have a delicate situation, then Ruina has a catastrophic one.
In the end, Ukraine will not be able to hold the defense because it will simply get tired. And the more tired it gets, the faster their retreat will be. And if the front collapses completely, even the Dnieper will not be an obstacle.
And the Ruin has no time to change the situation in their favor. The more they fight, the more they die, and most importantly, their cities and industrial facilities are destroyed. And if the city is within range of the fabs and the barrel, then with a probability of 86% it will be impoverished.

The point is that neither we nor the Ukrainians will be able to make up for their losses in the near future. Only they, apparently, have accepted this and therefore are conducting their mobilization the way they are, but we still cannot throw people away, because we will still need them after the victory (and even more so after the defeat in case of one).

Yes, yes. Although, of course, we must understand that by changing the situation in favor of Ukraine we mean changing the situation in the Western military-industrial complex. And there are guys working there. And again, a negative internal scenario for Russia cannot be ruled out.

It's unclear how the hair from the head got there. Head hair usually doesn't cut heads in half. It's usually the pubic hair that does that, which is coarser and thicker.

According to the Democrats, Kyiv’s position is now too weak, so Zelensky will not be able to speak from a “position of strength.”

A clown will never be able to talk to Russia from a "position of strength". Except in drug-induced dreams.

There is no expectation at this point that either side is ready to enter into negotiations,

You know, I was in a complete trance when Yugoslavia was being bombed and Russia was silent. For the first time I realized that a strong leader had come to Russia, when instead of a NATO military operation, a decision was made to inspect chemical weapons in Syria (if I'm not mistaken). And they still haven't found anything.
And now on the topic. Negotiations are always better than war, BUT we can't stop the SVO until the Ukrainians are completely cut off from the Black Sea and our troops reach the border with Transnistria. Yes, it will cost many deaths and blood on our side. But, otherwise, if we stop, our children and grandchildren will be washed in even more blood. It's like in the yard life of my youth, you yourself can wash yourself in blood, or even die, and to bow = to walk in toadies throughout life. That's the whole truth, personally for me.

Farewell fart into a puddle from grandfather Kirby, who is leaving after the Self-propelled. Zelensky can only talk to Russia from a "crab" position, and who said that anyone would talk to him at all? Putin, if anyone hasn't noticed, is very scrupulous about observing the "letter" of international law, therefore Zelensky cannot be a participant in the negotiations on behalf of Ukraine, since legally he has not been the head of 404 for a long time. And this means that any signing of peace treaties, capitulations, self-liquidation, etc. by clown Zelensky will NOT have any legal force.
