The Pentagon announced the allocation of another package of military aid to Ukraine worth almost one billion dollars

The United States has announced another package of military aid to Ukraine, allocating almost a billion dollars for it. However, Kyiv will not receive the allocated weapons and ammunition immediately; the supply will not come from Pentagon warehouses.
The outgoing Biden administration is rushing to spend the funds allocated to Ukraine, announcing almost weekly the allocation of another package of military aid. The day before, the Pentagon published a statement on providing Kyiv with $988 million as part of a program to purchase new weapons. The Americans included ammunition for the HIMARS MLRS in the new package, Drones, equipment for repair tanks and armored vehicles.
However, Kyiv will not be able to get all of this quickly, since the funds were allocated through the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI), i.e. not from the warehouses of the American army. In fact, the US kept the allocated funds for itself, concluding contracts with American companies for production weapons for Ukraine. The terms of the contracts and other details are not reported. It is noted that Biden still has $2,21 billion left in this line, so another statement on the conclusion of further contracts for weapons and ammunition for Ukraine can be expected in the near future.
Earlier, the White House stated that they intend to “prepare” Ukraine for a further war with Russia before Trump’s inauguration by spending the entire remaining $6 billion on weapons for Kyiv, since they are not sure that the new president’s administration will continue to allocate funds for the war.
