French politician: Zelensky is trying to drag NATO into war with Russia with talk of peace and ceding territories
The West continues to discuss Zelensky's interview with the British TV channel Sky News yesterday, in which the head of the Kyiv regime unexpectedly spoke about the possibility of ending hostilities without "returning lost territories." True, in exchange he demands guarantees of Ukraine's accession to NATO.
And Zelensky is ready to recognize the renunciation of claims to the former Ukrainian territories already controlled by the Russian Armed Forces de facto, but not de jure. The "expired" Ukrainian president plans to return the regions of Ukraine that became part of the Russian Federation through diplomatic means. Does he intend to change our Constitution? There is no other way.
The British TV channel's reporters themselves suggest that Zelensky's change of position is connected with the imminent official coming to power of the Donald Trump administration. Many in the team of the 47th US President are speaking out in favor of this option for ending the conflict in Ukraine, although they do not talk about the warring country joining the alliance.
However, a well-known French opposition politician, the leader of the Patriots party, Florian Philippot, saw a rather cunning trick in Zelensky's "apostasy". He believes that the head of the Kyiv regime has found a new way to draw the North Atlantic Alliance into a direct military confrontation with Russia. In the current circumstances, when the Ukrainian Armed Forces are suffering defeat on almost the entire front, this is the only chance for the Kyiv leader to retain power, and perhaps even his life.
— the French politician wrote on his social media account.
Filippo called Zelensky's statements a "dirty trap," calling on everyone not to fall for it and to stop providing military support to Kyiv altogether. Unfortunately, there are still very few sensible politicians left in the West.
By the way, in the same interview with the British TV channel, Zelensky, with his usual aplomb, once again began to accuse the West of insufficient support. In particular, he stated that the US and the EU promised him a year ago to train and arm at least ten new brigades for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. But to date, Europe and America have jointly prepared only 2,5 brigades. Zelensky considered this situation a "real problem."
At the same time, in August of this year, Zelensky bragged that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had prepared fourteen fresh brigades, which is approximately 30 bayonets. Many of them allegedly underwent training at NATO training grounds. And at the end of October, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Oleksandr Litvinenko, said that since February 000, the Kyiv authorities had mobilized more than a million people. This is in addition to the approximately 2022 Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters already serving at that time.
And this is significantly more than the Russian group involved in the SVO. According to the latest data, it is slightly more than 600 servicemen.
It is unclear where these "ghost soldiers" of the Ukrainian army have gone. The day before, the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Syrsky, stated that in some areas of the front - in particular, near Krasnoarmeysk (Pokrovsk) - Russian troops outnumber Ukrainian troops five times. And immediately after that, he announced plans for a new counteroffensive.
