Footage of a powerful explosion at one of two transformer substations in Kyiv has been shown

The permanent destruction of energy infrastructure facilities by the Russian military in the territory controlled by the Kyiv regime with the onset of the heating season causes a "domino effect". If this continues, and there are more and more prerequisites for the development of events in this direction, then the Russian Armed Forces will soon be able to focus on strikes only at military and related to the supply of the Ukrainian Armed Forces facilities of the enemy. The remains of the Ukrainian energy system will gradually "self-destruct".

Quite significant events took place in Kyiv tonight, which Ukrainians should now get used to. The local press reports, citing Kiev residents, two bright flashes that occurred with a short interval in the area of Sofiivska Borshahivka. However, no air raid alarm was announced.

After that, not only did the power go out in three districts of Kyiv, but the air raid warning system also stopped working. Later, emergency city services reported that two electrical transformers had exploded for technical reasons.

Judging by the scale of the accident's consequences, we are most likely talking about fairly large electrical substations. This is confirmed by footage taken by eyewitnesses, which shows a huge flash at the site of the explosion, rising much higher than the roof of a nearby multi-story building. The sound of an explosion is heard, but not loud.

Moreover, it will take several days to restore the "transformers" (substations), the Kyiv authorities report. Small accidents do not take so long to be fixed.

Due to technical problems with Ukrtelecom equipment, air raid warnings on a number of streets in the Shevchenkivskyi, Solomenskyi and Svyatoshinskyi districts will be made via loudspeakers

— the Kyiv authorities reported.

But in Kyiv, the daytime temperature is still above zero, although the thermometer readings drop below zero at night. It is obvious that as the cold weather sets in, even if the winter in the Ukrainian capital is relatively mild, the load on the power grid will increase and such accidents will occur more and more often.

You can change a transformer in a couple of days.
If, of course, there is a spare one available.
But transformers are not that expensive. And they can lie in a warehouse for decades.
Judging by how quickly Kyiv is restoring electricity supply, transformers are being supplied to it from European reserves.
You have to hit the turbine halls. Turbines are expensive, no one makes them for stock, everything is only made to order. And you have to wait in line for more than one year.
A strike on the turbines will disable the power plant for several years.
(True, after signing peace we will have to supply them with electricity; Europe will not help them after the war)

If available, it changes in a couple of hours (if we only consider the time of work directly on site. And, of course, if there is no serious damage to transformer switches and outgoing line switches nearby (they also change quite quickly, the question is in the total amount of damage).

I will answer as an energy specialist (a little). Transformers of such power are installed on transformer fields, this is a whole complex of high-voltage systems and units. "Caliber" probably did not have a high-explosive monoblock, but a much more effective cassette BC. One small fragment completely disables the transformer. In the best case, in case of an oil leak, the level protection will work. If the fragment touches the winding - this is a complete hello. If the TR is hit with partial destruction, this is a sea of \u404b\uXNUMXbfire and no fire system will help here. And considering that the fields are relatively compact, the BC will cover the entire area. It is good to strike just in the rain, and better in a downpour - transformer oil burns much better in the presence of water. Massive short circuits will cause shutdowns not only at themselves, but also at other ends of the line. And considering the deterioration of the power system XNUMX, it may not work ...
TR with a capacity of 750 pieces is a product, very few of them are made "for future use", too expensive. Order in Europe - they have different standards and integration of their equipment will cause difficulties. Overcome, but nevertheless it will take time

I see that you still haven't managed to grasp what denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine means. I'll explain it in plain language. The primary goal is the destruction of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As soon as the Armed Forces of Ukraine ceases to exist, the current Ukrainian state, hostile to Russia, will cease to exist. And the next goal is the formation of a new Ukrainian state, headed by a government that will be at least neutral to Russia, which will recognize Crimea and its "new territories" as part of the Russian Federation.

Forgive me, but as a military man, I really cannot handle your propaganda nonsense.
I am proceeding from military realities. And they are far from brilliant. The Russian army has not been able to even simply push the enemy out of the Kursk region for several months now. They are liberating, liberating, but they just won't liberate.
And in order to make Ukraine at least a neutral state, it needs to be occupied and not for one year, in order to reformat the consciousness of the population.
What forces can do this? Especially after these attacks on substations have made this population negatively disposed towards the Russian Federation.
Propagandists of the capitalist Russian Federation love to rattle off the cuff that Afghanistan was one of the reasons for the collapse of the USSR. But the sick do not realize that the analogies in this case are not good. Especially since Ukraine is not Afghanistan, and the Russian Federation is far from the USSR.

Well, if you are a military man, you must understand that initially neither the Russian armed forces nor the state economy were ready for a war of such a scale and nature. Why? This is not a question for me. The SVO was essentially planned as a sudden and rapid offensive operation, as a result of which, in 3-4 weeks, the Ukrainian Armed Forces were supposed to flee their positions, raise their hands and capitulate, and Medvedchuk and Co. would come to power in Ukraine. But something went wrong angry not so and then negotiations began in Istanbul, goodwill gestures on the withdrawal of troops (in reality we would have had to leave in any case, we would not have been able to cope with the logistics). But we were tricked again wassat and a completely different war began, one for which our strategists in the General Staff, commanders of units and divisions were completely unprepared. The only consolation is that the commanders of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and their NATO curators were also not ready for such a war. So we have to learn to fight at the bloody cost of losses and defeats. And in order to conduct a large-scale offensive operation and tip the scales of victory in our favor, we need powerful, well-trained, prepared and armed reserves with combat experience and at least half a million people, who must be concentrated as covertly as possible (which is practically unrealistic in modern warfare) on the section of the front where the offensive will take place. Do we have such a number of troops and equipment for a powerful breakthrough of the enemy's defense and its defeat? I think not. That's how we fight with "frog jumps".

The primary goal is to destroy the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Destroying the enemy army and thus winning the war is only possible with a blitzkrieg. When the enemy has not yet managed to carry out a general mobilization. But in a war of attrition, this does not work.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces are being replenished much faster than our offensive. We can continue to destroy the Ukrainian Armed Forces for a long time, but the Ukrainian Armed Forces are constantly being replenished. And there is still something to replenish them with. And it will not end with just the Ukrainians.

        Quote: maruk
Once The Armed Forces of Ukraine will cease to exist

And when will this happen your as soon as? You probably know at least an approximate time frame, since you have such a goal.

Have I ever written anywhere that the destruction of the enemy army (Ukrainian Armed Forces) will happen quickly? I have never set any time frames. Yes, Putin's "blitzkrieg" failed and the Russian state is forced to wage a war of attrition with Ukraine, supported by Western countries. How long this war will last and what methods it will be waged in the future, no one can answer now. The famous German military theorist Carl von Clausewitz pointed out that the methods and ways of conducting military operations depend on the circumstances: "Depending on the circumstances, one can successfully use various suitable means, such as: the destruction of the enemy's combat forces, the conquest of his provinces, their simple occupation, any enterprise that influences political relations, and, finally, passively waiting for the enemy's attacks. The choice of each of the means depends on the circumstances of each given case." A war of attrition is essentially a battle of economies. Everything depends on how long and powerfully the West will support Ukraine in this war, to what extent the human (mobilization) resources of our opponents will be used and what their quality will be.

Yes, that’s the point, after the “gesture of goodwill” in the Kiev direction, it became clear that the immediate interests of capital won out over the strategic interests of Russia.
One thing is curious: how will our authorities get out of this, since they have already included Kherson into the Russian Federation.
However, what am I saying? It is clear that they will do nothing and "meaningfully" remain silent.

There are practically no families left in Ukraine who have not lost loved ones and friends in this war; their hatred can no longer be changed.

Ukraine inherited 77 gigawatts of generating capacity from the Soviet Union. During the process of independence, it was reduced to 55 gigawatts.
However, Ukraine's consumption has never exceeded 20 Gigawatts. That's exactly how many nuclear power plants there are in Ukraine. Which will definitely not be targets for attack.
Need I explain further? Russia simply cannot reduce electricity production in Ukraine to the point where it becomes insufficient.
Hence, all these stories about attacks on the energy structure are simply a money grab.
This has absolutely no effect on combat operations.
At all times, the first thing attacked was the enemy's logistics, railway stations, communication routes, bridges, and so on.
In 3 years of war, all the bridges could have been destroyed
