Russian specialists have developed a mobile drone suppression system PRES to protect vehicles

The Russian holding company Rostec's Roselectronics has developed a new mobile suppression system drones under the name PRES. The complex is designed to protect vehicles, including civilian ones, in frontline areas. This was reported by the holding's press service.

The PRES mobile system was developed by specialists from the Vector Research Institute specifically to protect vehicles from FPV.drones. After the system is launched into series production, it is planned to install the complex on ambulances, buses, trucks and cars. The device weighs only 14,5 kg, and no special fasteners are needed for its installation; magnets are available for this purpose.

As explained by the holding, the complex operates on the most relevant frequencies used by the enemy in its drones. PRES creates interference in the range of 400-1200 MHz, thereby paralyzing the control channels of FPV drones. If necessary, the interference generators can be changed directly on the spot, without the participation of specialists. At the same time, it does not require special power supplies, connecting to the car battery. The control unit is located in the cabin.

The complex operates at 360 degrees, creating a dome with a diameter of up to 150 meters around the vehicle. The product operates in any weather, in a temperature range from -40 to +40 degrees Celsius.

At the moment, the PRES product is undergoing operational tests; there are no other details yet.

The day is not far off when drones will lose their relevance on the battlefield.

To be honest, there are already means of destroying drones. And even effective ones. If I'm not mistaken, even on this site there was an article about tests in the USA of a machine gun (caliber 7.62) with artificial intelligence control, and this system shot down FPV-ek with the consumption of 2-4 rounds per piece!!! If this is true, of course. And ordinary hunting rifles work very well. The only problem is detection!!!

PRES is of course good, but SERP sounds better. . . hi

Many thanks to scientists and developers for such products!
Test a pilot batch of devices on the battlefield and quickly move into serial production,
Then to the front and into the frontline territory.
    Keep working, brothers developers!!!
    It's time to dare discoveries!!!!
    God is with us!!!
    Victory will be ours!!!

Scientists have nothing to do with these issues.

The main drone control frequency is 2,4 GHz, video transmission - 5,8 GHz. It was only later that they started looking for transmitters on other frequencies. Either the development does not jam these drones (then it is doubtful to protect), or there is a mistake in the article.

Various frequency ranges are used to control drones, from MHz to GHz. Judging by the sizes of the antennas in the photo in the article, everything is indicated correctly. The same range that you write about, 2,4 GHz with a wavelength of 12,5 cm requires direct visibility between the operator and the drone. Obviously, the developers of the system considered this frequency irrelevant.

maybe someone knows, and it is possible to create dome systems to protect entire cities in the frontline zone from all types of UAVs, but at the same time so that it does not show up for ELINT and is modular and highly mobile, with a large radius of action... so as not to fall under enemy attacks. For example, to protect Belgorod (35-40 km from the border) or Shebekino (6-7 km from the border)

Dome systems have a fundamentally small range because they block out everything around them within their range, and because they require a lot of power.

Wolverine, any source of electromagnetic waves is visible on the screens of electronic warfare stations. As a surge on the frequency line. Or in other smart ways. Including cell phones, radios of any military equipment, drone control panels, etc.
It is accurately localized using the triangulation method.
Powerful sources such as radars and jammers glow on screens like a fire in the steppe.
      This is a radar-stealing missile's dream.
Remember how Dudayev was killed by such a missile, who was talking on a satellite phone - a source of radiation. ? Then they found his head in the trees. They were convinced that it was him.

I understand that... but how, for example, to close for small UAVs (FPV) for example Shebekino... they are simply furious there, for example they can fly mockingly along the streets, and then hit a window... or hit a window with a double, so that the ceilings can collapse. For them, the city has become like a training ground with live targets.

Same. You just need a lot of jammers, but there is a plus, you can power it from a stationary power grid.

drones knock out substations there...now some areas of Shebekino have been without power for more than a day...the operational situation does not allow restoration - drones

What is so fundamentally new about this jammer? Broadband jammers have been used for a long time and everywhere.
They invented the bicycle and laundered the money?
Or is the whole novelty in the adapter for car voltage? Schoolchildren solder things like that in the young DIY club.
How many watts does this device consume, which is important for not very powerful electrical systems of cars. Will the battery and generator of the car handle such a load with its own consumers turned on? Or will the battery die from chronic undercharging, especially in winter.

14 kg on magnets is, in my personal opinion, not a good option.
6-8 corners and self-tapping screws, better screws with Grovers and M8 nuts, they will be more reliable. That the car body will start to rust... So we are all mortal.
About 400-1200 MHz... And 4 and 5 G? And Wi-Fi? And wired control?
And about 150 meters... This suicide drone will throw you off course a little. But the drone-observer and targeter will hang at least a kilometer away. Or more. And the jammer is unlikely to do anything to it.
Personal opinion of a graduate of a USSR high school.

Absolutely correct opinion about the suicide drone. This thing is designed for exactly this. But there is nothing new in this. The same thing has been assembled from Chinese components for a year and a half. It fulfills its tasks.
