Peskov: President Putin's plans to congratulate Trump on his election victory are unknown
41
The head of the press service of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, said that he knows nothing about Vladimir Putin's plans to congratulate his American counterpart Donald Trump on his victory in the elections. Peskov recalled that we are talking about the president of an unfriendly country that is both directly and indirectly involved in the war against Russia.
The Russian leader's press secretary also noted that in the Oval Office, after a candidate wins an election, his earlier statements about peace often take on a completely different tone. Despite the fact that Putin has repeatedly confirmed his readiness for dialogue, the US is currently demonstrating a completely opposite position.
Peskov emphasized that the Americans continue to fuel and add kerosene to the Ukrainian conflict, while they are able to contribute to its end. Washington is able to change the trajectory of US foreign policy towards Ukraine, but whether this will be done will become known after January next year, when the new head of state takes office.
Earlier, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev wrote on his Telegram channel that, most likely, Trump, as a businessman to the core, will not spend money from the US budget on various dubious projects like Ukraine and some gluttonous international organizations, but it is possible that he will still be forced to allocate funds to continue financing the armed conflict near the borders of Russia.
