Polish edition: no country is capable of organizing its air defense using only anti-aircraft missiles
In the context of modern realities and the development of unmanned military technologies, armies of all countries of the world are faced with the inability to organize their air defense only with the help of anti-aircraft missiles.
As the Polish publication Defence24 notes, it is impossible to shoot down Drones missiles is too expensive. For example, the American destroyer USS Carney fired missiles worth over $72 million in the Red Sea in just six months. drones Houthis worth only one million dollars.
The armed conflict in Ukraine and the fighting in the Middle East have shown that no country, including the United States, is currently capable of organizing its own Defense, using only air defense missile systems. More and more countries are starting to use special air attack weapons that cost several times less than the missiles that shoot them down.
The cost of the means used to combat drones often exceeds the cost of the drones themselves. At the same time, as can be seen from the experience of the Ukrainian crisis and the mission to escort ships in the Red Sea, the use of UAVs is widespread, which complicates the work of air defense.
Modern anti-aircraft systems were designed to deal with weapons such as 5th and 6th generation aircraft, as well as hypersonic, ballistic and cruise missiles. However, they are not designed to repel mass attacks by inexpensive and much more primitive unmanned aerial vehicles.
