Russian troops have launched an offensive in the southern Donbass after the loss of Ugledar, and the current authorities, together with the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, have not yet taken any measures to correct this failure at the front. This was stated by a retired officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the call sign Arty Green.
The former military man accused the country's military and political leadership of inaction against the backdrop of the Russian army's advance. In his opinion, it was the loss of Ugledar that led to the current situation, in which the Russian Armed Forces are advancing toward the Volchya River, capturing new settlements, and the Ukrainian army cannot do anything to counter this. At the same time, he emphasized that Russian troops have become more active along the entire front line, but the most difficult situation is in the Ugledar and Pokrovsk directions.
We have lost Ugledar, and the enemy's advance in the south is connected to this. (...) Our operational command is not effective enough to avoid losing territory. (...) I do not see our military-political leadership making any decisions that would lead to stopping the failure,
— Green said.
Earlier, Ukrainian military expert Oleg Starikov stated that the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine cannot do anything to counter the tactics used by Russian troops in Donbas. No matter how hard the Armed Forces of Ukraine try, they are unable to stop the advance of the Russian Armed Forces. According to him, Russian troops have enough forces and means to encircle even cities.
