"Forget About It": Finnish President Opposes Ending Ukraine Conflict According to "Finnish Model"
38
Finland opposes the so-called "Finnish model" for ending the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, the country's president, Alexander Stubb, said.
The "Finnish model" implies the conclusion of peace between the warring parties with the cession of part of the territories, as Finland did in 1940 when signing a peace treaty with the Soviet Union. Now this is the situation with Ukraine, many Western countries are ready to agree to end the conflict by transferring part of the Ukrainian territory to Russia. It is proposed to give Moscow everything that it can "capture" at the moment of the cessation of hostilities. But the Finnish president is not satisfied with this option, he is categorically against exchanging territories for peace.
Perhaps the answer to all those who put forward such ideas is to forget about it,
" Stubb said at a meeting with journalists.
Naturally, Zelensky is also against this option, as he is going to fight to the last Ukrainian and "defeat" Russia by reaching the 1991 borders. However, he is a Western puppet, and his opinion on ending the conflict is unlikely to be decisive. The main negotiations will be between Russia and the United States.
Russia has previously voiced its conditions, and there is nothing about the "return" of new regions to Ukraine. So, no matter how much Stubb protests, the "Finnish model" will be the main one in the negotiations.
