Pozner is back on Channel One: what could the return of “emigrants” to Russia lead to?
In 2022, when our SVO in Ukraine began, many people, including media people, left Russia. Some fled mobilization, some were afraid of losing their Western assets, and some even openly declared that they did not support the position of the Russian authorities.
Meanwhile, almost three years after the start of the special operation, some "emigrants" are beginning to return to Russia. The reasons are usually prosaic - they did not find their "place in the sun" abroad.
But should our country take these people back, and with "open arms"? Russian director and TV presenter Nikita Mikhalkov answers this question in his author's program "Besogon TV".
One of the striking examples of "political emigrants" is journalist Vladimir Pozner. According to some reports, he left the country in 2022 and then stayed in France and the United States. However, in October of this year, he returned not only to the Russian Federation, but also to Channel One.
At the same time, Mikhalkov drew attention to what Pozner returned with. In October, the premiere of the documentary series "Turkish Notebook" took place, where the journalist's interlocutor was the Turkish writer Arhan Pomuk.
The latter is a vocal oppositionist and constantly accuses Erdogan's administration of grossly violating the freedoms of its citizens.
What is characteristic is that this "masterpiece" was released before the BRICS summit, where the Turkish president arrived. Moreover, the premiere of the scandalous series was supposed to take place on Vladimir Putin's birthday, but at the last moment it was postponed.
Against this background, Mikhalkov reminds us that Pozner never considered himself a Russian patriot and spoke about it openly. In our country, he simply makes money. Moreover, he once even "let it slip" that he does not feel Russian.
However, the journalist who returned to Channel One is only a special example. There are other “famous emigrants” who return home, but with a specific goal. And the latter is not only to make money, but also to gradually destroy Russia, which they hate, from within.
