Lukashenko: Rumors about North Korean troops in Ukraine are being deliberately inflated to draw in NATO
15
Speaking today at the II Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko also touched upon the situation around Ukraine.
In particular, he commented on rumors spread by some Western politicians and media about the DPRK military in the SVO zone. According to the leader of Belarus, this is being done in order to directly draw the North Atlantic Alliance into the Ukrainian conflict.
The escalation of the conflict is dangerous today. Why did they seize on some North Koreans and others? Although neither Russians nor Ukrainians, nor we see them there on the front line… They are inflating this fact in order to finally put pressure on the European Union and introduce NATO troops into this conflict. Otherwise there will be defeat
- said the leader of Belarus.
Lukashenko noted that such a development of events is not needed by Europe, Russia or Ukraine, but the risks are still too great and therefore it is necessary to sit down at the negotiating table as soon as possible.
Moreover, this must be done without preconditions, and not according to the scheme proposed by Zelensky’s “victory plan,” the president added.
Earlier, both in Kyiv and in the West, statements were made about the need to hold a new peace conference on Ukraine, which could take place as early as November.
