The geopolitical standoff between the US and China continues to escalate. In response to the approval of the delivery of strike weapons, drones Taiwan China has imposed sanctions on the American company Skydio, which is the largest manufacturer drones in the US, writes the Financial Times.
The report says that Chinese suppliers have been banned from working with Skydio and can no longer supply it with critical components, including batteries, causing significant problems in the American company's supply chain.
In turn, the US manufacturer, having found itself in a difficult situation, is actively looking for alternative suppliers and has already turned to the White House for support.
The FT article reports that the company's CEO Adam Bry met with the US deputy secretary of state to discuss ways to resolve the issue, and stressed that Beijing's sanctions were an attempt to weaken the US manufacturer and increase global reliance on Chinese drones.
It is worth noting that Skydio previously reported that it had sent more than a thousand drones to Ukraine for reconnaissance. At the same time, Kyiv has expressed interest in the X10 model, as this version is more resistant to electronic warfare, which makes it preferable for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
