Iran unveils analogue of Israel's Iron Dome

Iran recently deployed a new air defense system, Zoubin, also known as the "Iranian Iron Dome," military publication Army Recognition notes.

According to the authors of the publication, the Zoubin system is specifically designed to counter a wide range of low-altitude air threats that are becoming increasingly common in modern warfare.

By deploying the system around Tehran and other strategic areas, Iran aims to strengthen its defenses against threats such as Drones, loitering munitions, cruise missiles, artillery missiles, low-flying fighters and helicopters. In light of recent events (Israeli strikes), such weapons are vital for Iran.

Iranian system Defense Zoubin is mounted on a 6x6 truck chassis, allowing it to be quickly repositioned as needed to meet changing conditions. This flexibility is combined with 360-degree protection, providing wide coverage and adaptability.

According to the Iranian military, the Zoubin system is capable of detecting up to 100 targets simultaneously within a 30 km radius and can engage them within a 20 km radius. This short-range missile system is equipped with eight missiles, which allows it to respond to several threats simultaneously.

Iran unveils analogue of Israel's Iron Dome

The "Iron Dome" is strong because it unites ALL air defense systems of the country, allowing it to determine what is flying, where it is flying and to suggest how dangerous it is; and what is the best way to shoot down a flying object, and all in automatic mode...
and what is shown in the picture is nothing more than a part of the air defense system...
The Pantsir, perhaps in terms of its performance characteristics, is better than what they showed us here.

Possibly... Or perhaps not! Most likely, the "Zubin" uses ZURs with a seeker head! Which increases the number of simultaneously fired targets... It is more difficult to do this with "radio command" ZURs!

It's not a shell, it's more like an analogue of THOR.

Iran unveils analogue of Israel's Iron Dome

If this system was involved in repelling Israel's attack on Iran, then Zoubin is probably more serious than the Iron Dome. It is still a question whether the Iron Dome will be able to cope with a massive attack of modern missiles, and the Iranian system worked quite well.

There are quite a few videos posted of Iran's air defenses working on attacking missiles. Quite visual and informative.

You seem to be on a specialized site that deals with military topics, including air defense issues. Of course, there is a lot of empty talk here, but there are also serious articles. At least enough to at least have an idea of what a modern air defense/missile defense is, what it consists of and what its tasks are.

What you are writing is, unfortunately, from the category of our own Ministry of Defense: “we shot everything down, but the debris fell, the grass caught fire and therefore the protected object was damaged.”

What's in those videos doesn't mean anything at all. Well, yes, the air defense was firing... but it could also be firing at decoys, like our simplified "Geranium" imitators with "Luneberg lenses"... there are many different ones.

For me, proof of the effectiveness of Iranian air defense would be footage of several Israeli planes burning on the ground somewhere in Jordan.

The air defense of a country that is ready for a modern war is:
-early detection and warning systems (from over-the-horizon radars to agents on the ground)
          - AWACS aircraft
-fighter aircraft, which must intercept CARRIERS (not missiles and bombs)... well, cruise missiles too.
          - and only last of all, ground-based long-range and short-range air defense systems.
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, we need a unified system of management of all this economy on a national scale.

Without this, it is better not to start anything with a country like Israel. Ground-based air defense systems alone, even the most modern ones, are not a problem for IDF aviation at all; it overcomes them playfully. At the very least, it simply does not enter their zone of action.

Of course you are right. Nevertheless. Probably the task of destroying Israeli aircraft somewhere over Jordan was not set, and who in Jordan would agree to such operations. You can simply compare the videos of strikes on Israel and Iran and observe the work of the air defense of each side. Satellite images also show the effectiveness, but in the case of a strike on Iran, there are practically none.

The latest version of the Israeli Iron Dome has one unrivaled option. It is capable of drawing dense clouds on space images in case of enemy missiles hitting its facilities to hide the destruction on the ground. We saw this during the Iranian attack on the Israeli military airfield. There was a discussion about these clouds here on VO. Air defense systems of other countries are not yet capable of drawing clouds.

What do you mean by drawing: create aerosol clouds or hack any satellite constellation and replace the image?

Most likely, they are replacing the image to preserve their image. Because out of 180 missiles, a third hit the airfield and there are no satellite images of the hit. There is a cloudless sky over all of Israel, but there have been dense cumulus clouds over the airfield for several days.

Just because you don't have them doesn't mean others don't. To replace the image, you need to hack the military satellite constellation of all countries (do you think that's possible?). What are they needed for then, if they're so easy to hack? Rather, there's an agreement with certain private companies that they retouch the footage and don't give out the real photos to just anyone. You don't need to hack anything for that.

To replace the image, you need to hack the military satellite group of all countries
We don't know how it works. But about 30 missiles hit the airfield and there are no pictures from the satellite. The picture started when everything at the airfield was patched up.

probably narrow specialists saw these pictures. But the pictures did not get into the public. Satellite pictures are a convenient thing. It's almost like with the Boeing that fell in Donbass. There were pictures from the satellite, but no one saw them and they blamed whoever they thought necessary.

Before writing, the author should first familiarize himself with the goals and objectives, and therefore with the features of the so-called "iron dome"... And the main thing here is a local missile defense system that evaluates the trajectory of a missile and calculates the point of impact! This is a very specific system designed to intercept subsonic and extremely inaccurate homemade Hamas missiles. Its purpose is to not waste relatively expensive SAMs on intercepting missiles flying past! At the same time, intercepting missiles flying at speeds above 400 m/s is actually unlikely. The main feature of the "iron dome" ("iron house", "kipat barzel") is the interception of multiple low-speed ballistic targets with selection by priority... Iran doesn't need such an analogue! Actually, no one else does, except Israel... It can't effectively intercept even Grad-type MLRS missiles (the accuracy and speed of M-21-type missiles are too high).

In fact, ardently exposing the author is the first sign of Ukrainianism and another ethnicity whose mention is prohibited in VO. No one is stopping you from sitting down at your desk and writing a decent article on this topic. That's when you'll shame the author. And spewing slop in the comments is ridiculous.
