The assembly of the first Russian combat training helicopter Mi-28UB was launched at the Rostvertol Rostvertol enterprise

The Rostov-based Rostvertol plant began assembling the first Russian combat training helicopter Mi-28UB, developed on the basis of the attack helicopter Mi-28Н “Night Hunter”. About it on Thursday, 7 of March, reports ITAR-TASS with reference to the general director of Rostvertol, Boris Slusar.

According to Slyusar, the helicopter has already docked the cockpit with the hull-fuselage. “The first flight model of the Rostov assembly will be tested this year,” said Slyusar.

As the head of “Rostvertol” said, the combat training helicopter is in demand in flight schools. According to Slyusar, the Mi-XNUMHUB is a combat helicopter capable of simultaneously performing the functions of an attack aircraft and training machine. The Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant, which developed the Mi-28H, participated in the design of the Mi-28UB.

From the basic model Mi-XNUMHUB differs only in the presence of dual control. According to the information posted on the Rostvertol website, the rest of the main technical characteristics of the Mi-28 shock and combat training helicopter are identical.

The Mi-28 helicopter has a maximum take-off mass of 12,1 tons, has a speed of up to 300 kilometers per hour and is able to overcome up to 450 kilometers (up to 1087 kilometers with hanging tanks). The helicopter’s armament is equipped with a mobile cannon launcher NPPU-28 with a 2A42 cannon of 30 millimeter caliber, up to 16 Ataka guided missiles and up to four Sagittarius missiles, four B8V20-A missiles for S-8 type unguided missiles of 80 millimeters (up to 80 missiles), as well as up to four B13L1 units with uncontrollable aviation missiles type S-13 caliber 122 mm.

According to Flightglobal MiliCAS, the Russian Air Force is armed with the 51 attack helicopter Mi-28. Earlier it was reported about the delivery of 10 Mi-28Н to the troops of the Southern Military District.

As Boris Slyusar told, the Rostvertol plant is capable of producing up to 10 Mi-28H helicopters annually. In the future, the production volume is planned to double. How much is planned to assemble combat-training helicopters Mi-28UB, the general director of the company did not specify.

Good afternoon! The news is completely justified and has its logical roots! Personally, I have only one type of this technique, goosebumps. So the conclusion is obvious! In order to fly these wonderful cars, you need great pilots, many pilots! And for this they need to be taught to fly on modern technology! Therefore, I would be surprised if at first they were massively put into the army in combat configuration, and then only in flight schools.

So why aren't you surprised ??? belay

After all, this is actually the case ... they were massively put into the troops (today 64 pieces), but they will go to the school ... only now ... on Ansat then .... "you won't go far" .. (this is me especially for those respected members of the forum who "easily transplanted" pilots from the Yak-130s to combat vehicles-Mig-29, Su-27 (30,33,35) and MiG-31st) wink

        hello, Sergey.
but at school .. just now they’ll go ..

why in school? as I understand it, the Mi-28UB is a fully combat vehicle, i.e. its place in the combat units, like the su-27ub

and by the way, how are things with the Su-27UB in combat units of the SU-27S / P / SM now? at one time information slipped that many UB-ki resource exhausted

And secondly, you, as a specialist, know better than me that specialized training (which I can name the College, the air traffic center is correct) is extremely necessary since our specialists will sit at the helms of 64 cars and everyone else flying on other machines will be! You will correct me if I am wrong but, I judge by anology with civil aviation! There, a pilot operating one type of aircraft must pass a certain number of standard hours for piloting another type of aircraft and get an appropriate license (control right)!

this version had to be done for a long time - MI-28N is a good helicopter but still raw

here are his cons at the moment

      1- no airborne radar

2- obsolete defense systems (there are at least Vitebsk on the ka-52) thermal imagers and guidance systems

3- miserable attack (there is Hermes from the KBP but they do not notice him)

      4 - around the clock?

5-problems with powder gases and surging

      a) according to Slusar, the maximum what Rosvertol is capable of producing is 10 MI-28 units per year - it’s not enough time to increase
      b) the fact that the military is not happy with the existing version and, according to Milevtsy’s version of the MN, they partly come close to AH-64D3 in terms of capabilities - let's see

      looks awesome in the photo

If in your own words and .. simpler, then the radar antenna over-hub placement turned out to be a big "gimor" for the developers, since they had to solve the problem of picture smears caused by the vibration of the propeller sleeve (together with the antenna, respectively) using a special "suspension" of the antenna.

Only the third (current) photo of side No. 36 suspension option gave a more or less "acceptable" result when changing the beam stabilization mode. wink

And the meaning of this helicopter if there is a training Mi-24? As they say helicopter pilots who mastered the 24-ku he will master the other types. Rather, all machines should be provided with duplicate controls, to increase survivability, so they will shoot the pilot, but what about the navigator? To die? Took control and home and the car is intact and the pilot honey. they will help more quickly than if they had to eject. And the pilot is not an infantryman, prepare him wow! what money is needed, but time and effort, resources of the base for training? they are not at all profitable to lose, especially since a pair of helicopters can burn a tank company or do something else.
So this would seem like a trifle, and the thing is necessary, especially on military vehicles.

Rostvertol plant is capable of annually producing up to 10 Mi-28N helicopters.
A dull pace, but better than nothing.

What to do if several huge workshops of "Rostvertol" in the 90s were converted into anthills from shopping centers and no one will return them back.

The pace is just far from .. "dull" ... you forget that there are still Mi-35M (both for us and for export) + Mi-26, well, help in assembling .. Ka-52-x .. so that the people "plow" in 3 shifts ... "not drinks taking out"!

In Korenovsk and in Budenovsk ... already put .. nowhere recourse

And who prevented them from suffering garbage and allocating resources for increasing the productivity of the assembly line for a promising helicopter (Mi-28N) instead of stamping the obsolete Mi-35 for its air forces, in which it only creates a problem of excess types?

And the meaning of this helicopter if there is a training Mi-24? As they say helicopter pilots who mastered the 24-ku he will master the other types. Rather, all machines should be provided with duplicate controls, to increase survivability, so they will shoot the pilot, but what about the navigator?
If you take your opinion as a basis, it turns out that in order to save money, the second control was removed from the navigator, and now, under the combat training index, they’ve been returned request Well, even if so, it’s good that they entered.

Well, duck is no good, if we have only 61 of them and an increase of 10 units. per year, why not upgrade the old helicopters with duplicate control systems? Yes, and what kind of savings can be when they are all about nothing, I understand if they were riveted 1000 per year.
Well, even if so, it’s good that they entered.

I agree to fishlessness and cancer.

Well, before that there were 10 pieces. There are few capacities, it is necessary to build new ones. And money or not enough, or everything is stolen

10 pieces a year is their sadness that they cut out a piece of iron from a piece of iron, 10 pieces a month should be collected and not a year.

They also produce others Mi-24, 35, 8/17, 26 and others, so they give out a lot of products, and 10 pieces a year, this is due to the allocated power to the assembly line.

I know that other models also do it, but 10 pieces a year are few and even 20 are also few, although it’s better than nothing.

cth; fyn,1. When the pilot crashes, the Mi-28N on autopilot returns to the point of departure. 2.Even some people from ROSTVERTOL do not know that the Bailout is UNMISSIBLE on Mi-28N. 3. My opinion is that control duplication is necessary psychologically (the Navigator is calmer), but the car will be more expensive.

What release 8 17 arrogant rut, repair Mi-2

Yes, I somehow prefer the Kamov cars to a greater preference. Well, everything in its place and looks like a helicopter, no offense Milevets.
Kamovtsy also do not lag behind:

So this is the same thing, the same armor capsule, although extra pounds, for some reason the crew is in armor. Well, the Internet is there, spruce-burns.

In the news, when MI-28N began to arrive in Torzhok, the pilots said that they would like to see the control duplicated in military vehicles and asked the KB about this. So they still didn’t kill. And the broadcast was shown in the news about 2 years ago, and only did the combat training version, it is strange that it took so long, but the fact that 64 combat vehicles did it well when they say that 64 SU-35s were in service?
