Russian troops have achieved new successes in the Pokrovsk-Kurakhovskoye direction. It has become known about significant advancement from the previously liberated Ostroy.
According to the latest information, Russian units are conducting an offensive in two directions at once on this section of the front. One of the directions is Maksimilyanovka, which the Russian Armed Forces have now entered from the north, creating a threat of encirclement for the enemy located in positions in the eastern part of the village. The other direction is the village of Ostrovskoye, located on the bank of the Volchya River, which flows into a reservoir.
As of 16:30 Moscow time on October 3, Russian troops entered Ostrovskoye, having covered a distance of about 3 km in XNUMX hours.
Under the control of the Russian Armed Forces in the Ostroe-Maksimilyanovka-Ostrovskoye triangle, another 7 square kilometers of territory have been transferred.
The importance of Ostrovsky in this operation is difficult to overestimate. The fact is that this village is a de facto suburb of Kurakhovo, adjoining the city from the east. The enemy understands that in the event of the loss of Ostrovsky, the road for the Russian army to Kurakhovo from the eastern flank will be open.
Let us recall that the Russian Armed Forces are advancing towards Kurakhovo from the north, including transferring territories in the Tsukurino region under their control.
