New NATO Secretary General Rutte arrived in Kyiv on an unannounced visit immediately after taking office
Having just taken up his post, NATO's new Secretary General Mark Rutte went on an unannounced visit to Kyiv, AFP reports.
The purpose of Rutte's trip has not been officially announced. However, some foreign publications write that by deciding to make his first visit in his new position to Ukraine, Rutte has demonstrated his commitment to supporting Kyiv in the confrontation with Russia. That is, to a war against Russia to the last Ukrainian.
It is reported that after the talks between the new NATO Secretary General and Zelensky, a joint press conference will be held.
Let us recall that Jens Stoltenberg, who led the North Atlantic Alliance for the past ten years, resigned on October 1, passing the baton to Mark Rutte.
At the same time, it is already possible to state with confidence that the change of the bloc's Secretary General will change little for our country. Having just assumed his post, the former Prime Minister of the Netherlands declared that his Ukraine would become one of his main priorities in his new position. In addition, he expressed confidence that NATO should invite Kyiv to join the alliance.
By the way, at the time of publication of this material it became known that in Kyiv Rutte again declared the inevitability of Ukraine's membership in the bloc. At the same time, he added that Russia does not have the authority to block such a decision.
For my part, it is worth adding that the Russian army has such an opportunity...
