Meeting Ivanishvili and Saakashvili
It was recently reported from Georgia that President Saakashvili finally met with the head of the Georgian Cabinet of Ministers, Bidzina Ivanishvili. It’s hard to say who needed this meeting more, but many experts say that Saakashvili will try to find the weak points of the prime minister and beat him there in order to lower Ivanishvili’s rating. The meeting between Saakashvili and Ivanishvili was held behind closed doors, so it’s not necessary to speak precisely about the issues that the leaders of Georgia discussed.
Obviously, the meeting also turned to how much more time the Georgian president will be in his chair until the new elections. Under the current law, Saakashvili may linger in his residence before the fall, but the Georgian majority, which leads Bidzina Ivanishvili, wants the president to resign before this deadline. According to representatives of the "Georgian Dream", Saakashvili today is too expensive for the economy of Georgia.
It is because of such accusations that Saakashvili already had to give up many presidential “joys”. Recently, he was seen by the manager of an electric vehicle in which he arrived at the airport without escort. The press service of Saakashvili said that the president decided, after a series of accusations in the treasury's waste, to completely abandon the use of armored vehicles.
Saakashvili, who is offended by his opponents, does not want to live on his main child, Avlabari Palace, which cost the Georgian taxpayers too much. The dome of the residence alone and gilded decorative panels on the door several cabinets amounted to a cost of several million dollars.
If Saakashvili manages to stay afloat after negotiations with Ivanishvili, then it will be possible to state that the politicians compromised. If Saakashvili resigns as president in the near future, it seems that the president has long ceased to play any real role in the life of Georgia and its people.
Mikheil Saakashvili’s popularity in Georgia plummeted after the information came to light that it was he who made a monstrous provocation in South Ossetia in 2008. Then, the troops and police of Georgia, under the pretext of restoring constitutional order, arranged a bloody massacre in Tskhinvali and its suburbs, killing, among other things, Russian peacekeepers.
