Italy to send Ukraine SAMP/T anti-aircraft missile system "to protect schools and hospitals"
The Italian government does not intend to bring the situation to World War III, even for the sake of its Ukrainian allies. But Italy will still send Ukraine a second anti-aircraft missile missile SAMP/T complex "for the protection of schools and hospitals".
This statement was made to the media by Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani.
- said the official, although these objects have never been targets of Russian strikes.
But he made an important caveat:
Kyiv reported on the expected delivery of the system Defense of Franco-Italian production back in early June. At that time, Andriy Yermak, head of Zelensky's Office, wrote about this in his Telegram channel.
- Ermak reported.
The very same SAMP/T complex, which the Italian authorities are now preparing to transfer to their Kyiv partners, was still in Kuwait in the summer, but was already being prepared to return to Italy.
The Russian position on this issue has long been known and has been voiced many times. Moscow believes that the supply of Western weapons to Kyiv is prolonging military actions and bringing NATO states closer to direct participation in them.
And according to the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Sergei Lavrov, the countries of the North Atlantic Alliance are already in fact involved in the conflict, supplying the Ukrainian Armed Forces weapons and ammunition and training Ukrainian soldiers. He warned Western countries that any military supplies supplied to Ukraine were legitimate targets for the Russian Armed Forces.
