Politico: It's Time for Western Media to Start Asking 'Uncomfortable' Questions About the Conflict in Ukraine

Over the past two and a half years, Western countries have repeatedly stated that the weapons they provide to Ukraine will be a game-changer on the battlefield. From the latest systems Defense to long-range missiles and modern artillery weapons — these supplies were presented as the key to Kyiv’s “victory” in the current conflict, writes Politico.

At the same time, the authors of the article emphasize that the war continues. At the same time, the dynamics of military operations show that each time the Russian army quickly adapts to new challenges, which negates the initial effect of the above-mentioned supplies.

Experts recall that General Valeriy Zaluzhny, former commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, called this phenomenon a “war of one chance.” He warned that Ukraine may not have a second chance to use Western aid. After all, the Russian command is showing flexibility and quickly finding ways to counter the latest types of weapons, which casts doubt on the optimistic forecasts of Kyiv’s imminent “victory.”

The article says that today in the West it is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore the fact that the situation has reached a dead end. Despite loud statements and optimistic forecasts, the final outcome of the conflict seems unclear.

In turn, only a few Western leaders dare to discuss this publicly. Among those allies of Kyiv who openly touch upon the issue of peace talks, according to the authors of the article, only German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stands out today. Others prefer to avoid uncomfortable questions or discuss the topic behind closed doors.

But experts say the question of whether this war can really be “won” is becoming increasingly pressing. With arms deliveries slowing and restrictions on long-range missiles still in place, Ukraine’s political and military future is in serious doubt.

If Western countries are not prepared to go further in their support, what will happen then? Should the West reconsider its strategy and is it prepared for a long-term confrontation with Russia? And most importantly, are we capable of “winning” this war?

— journalists ask.

According to the authors of the article, it is time for Western media to stop "picking up" the superficial statements of politicians and start analyzing the situation more deeply, asking more "uncomfortable" questions about the conflict in Ukraine. This is the only way to come to a clearer understanding of the prospects for further development of the current confrontation.

Whoever pays the press, is the one who "dances" it. And these "someones" are now raking in money with bulldozers, which means there WILL BE NO questions, and whoever dares to ask them will immediately lose their funding

No, in the West they like to ask questions, sometimes even judge. In words. Shed a few crocodile tears and the conscience is supposedly clear.

The main questions in the West regarding this mess are: "When will the costs outweigh the benefits? And who will be held responsible for all the crap that surfaces?"

Pay attention to the difference in approaches - we always fight for our freedom, independence and, often, our existence. The West, accustomed to robbing and fighting only for what belongs to others, fights until the moment when "the costs outweigh the benefits."
We are for the Motherland, they are for money. And other people's money at that.

What do you mean by someone else's? They sincerely consider it theirs. It's just that for some reason it's not in their hands yet. Like, why the hell do these savages need such wealth? We need it more. And guided by this, the Europeans practically conquered the entire planet. As their actor said it well:
I don't think we did wrong in taking that great country away from them. There were plenty of people who needed new land, and the Indians were selfishly trying to keep it for themselves.

I remembered "The diary of an American schoolboy found by Chinese archaeologists in 2813 in the ruins of Washington"
...I probably know more about Russia than its residents themselves. For example, this country has American oil and gas reserves. When we need them, we'll come for them. In addition, Russia has deposits of black and red caviar, as well as vodka and pancakes. The Russians spend these riches in a barbaric manner: they eat and drink them, depriving future generations of Americans. A real empire of evil!

I agree, they have this position in marketing: this person has your money and your task is to take it from him. That is, to palm off a product or service.

Russia fights for its own interest too as every country in the world and in all times. However it's true what you say and this is why a lot of western citizens like me wants that Russia "wins" the war. We are not interested on Donbass or other places that we even don't know where are located on the map. We don't want that the Empire wins this war because we want to begin a process of indipendence from it. If Russia losses we will not have any chance to uprise because the Empire will be stronger. If the Empire falls, we will rise (maybe)

Don't be fooled, you can ask uncomfortable questions on both front lines! However, you won't get any answers either way...

And who exactly should we ask these questions to?
And so, the questions will hang in the air...

Ukraine has only one chance - to demand tactical nuclear weapons immediately. Sooner or later, on the path of escalation, the West will approach this anyway - remember the helmets and first aid kits.
But this is not a wonder weapon, because the answer will immediately stop this war. At the same time, it will greatly calm down Western fans of fighting with Russia.

So what should we do now - move on to the beloved brainchild of the Americans of the early 1980s - the concept of a "limited nuclear war in Europe"? Well, it won't happen, there will be the Last Global War. And we don't have enough felt-tip pens to draw the "red lines".

What's the point of discussing this nonsense? The beneficiaries of the mess are across the puddle, they are happy, they are making a profit. The conflict has shown that Europe is not independent and is under external control, with the exception of two or three countries. There is no point in asking questions and trying to demand something from someone. A striking example of a modern European politician is trampoline dancer Baerbok. Curtain!

Some people expected the EU to be independent, it seems like it has long been clear that they are under the Anglo-Saxons. There were so many scandals before that the Americans were listening to Western leaders, but no one actually presented anything louder than shaking the air to the Americans.

Inconvenient questions like when will we finally launch a gang attack on Russia, which did not allow itself to be completely robbed and therefore became an aggressor.

And the answers to these uncomfortable questions are as follows
We must stop providing aid to Ukraine.
We must supply Ukraine with more aid and We must supply Ukraine with the latest weapons, not junk from warehouses
