Demining of liberated territories: specifics of the work of sappers of the Russian Emergencies Ministry

During the current SVO, Russian military personnel are systematically liberating the territories of new Russian regions from occupation by Ukrainian militants. At the same time, even after the enemy has left a particular settlement, it is still dangerous for civilians to be in it and its environs.

The whole point is that when retreating, the Ukrainian Armed Forces often mine the territory, leaving thousands of deadly traps.
In turn, the neutralization of this threat is being carried out by the sappers of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, the specifics of whose work were described in his report by the presenter of “Military acceptance» Alexey Egorov.

As Nikolai Tiselsky, commander of the combined demining detachment of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, explained to a journalist, the area where the sappers are working can be up to several dozen kilometers long.

The video by "Military Acceptance" shows the process of demining in one of the areas in the SVO zone, which was liberated by Russian soldiers.

The work begins with the launch of a robotic sapper equipped with a trawl. The machine literally "grinds" small bushes and trees, and also cleans the surface to a depth of 25 cm, which allows for the neutralization of tripwires, booby traps and other explosive objects.

As the presenter put it, the Emergencies Ministry sappers are clearing potentially dangerous areas, strip by strip. But that's not all.

Following the wheeled robot through the plowed area is a sapper with a metal detector, who must ensure that there are no more dangerous objects left in the area.

Moreover, recently another specialist has appeared in the group of sappers of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, who also manages drone, but not wheeled, but flying. Drone, equipped with a thermal imager, perfectly sees mines in a metal case, which heat up during the day and are then easily detected from the air at dusk, when the sun sets.

The work of the Emergencies Ministry sappers is associated with enormous risks. After all, in addition to explosive objects, their lives are also threatened by regular shelling from the enemy. Meanwhile, it is thanks to their courage that peaceful life will soon be able to reign in the territories liberated by the Russian Armed Forces.
