Judging by the responses to the article "Cossacks of the XXI Century. Part ..." decided to give an answer to the author in the response article.

The author under the name Werr17 writes: "society was divided into two parts: 1) as many say, "massed" and 2) is the power that stands at the guard of Russia."And further:"To argue who is right and who is not is not my goal, I just want to convey my idea to you. The idea of converting from 1-x (charged) to 2-x (force, dangerous force). "Ie, the author in fact admits that today the Cossacks are 1) (STRANGED). Which is not so bad anymore. Further. What kind of political? Military? Oh, yes ... In" dangerous force "! Dangerous for whom? I will not include speculation on this issue. I'll wait for an answer.

Further. "First of all, we will transform all Cossack troops into mobile brigades of constant combat readiness. For example, the Amur Cossack army can be transformed into the 1 Amur Cossack brigade of constant combat readiness"That's it. Neither more nor less!"The main goal is the creation of universal troops capable of conducting military operations not only offensive, but also defensive in nature. "Just a find of military thought! The troops must not only advance, but also defend (!) And that is their universality!

" The highlight of the KV of the Russian Federation: The Cossack must repay a debt to the Motherland: for ordinary Cossacks, the service life is 5 years, for sergeant personnel - 10 years, for officers - 20 years. But (!), If an officer wishes to continue his service, he can write a report in the name of the brigade commander in order to transfer him to "secondary service", that is, the officer can become an educator in the Cossack cadet corps, while passing a strict professional selection"Not a quote! I choose brilliant thoughts.

All who were interested, read the original article. http://topwar.ru/24551-kazaki-xxi-veka-chast-1.html

Therefore, I will not quote this work.

I would like to express my opinion.

Let's finally not think for those who are obliged to do so. Everyone should do their own thing. And do it well! The driver - to drive transport, the pilot - to control the aircraft. Officer - to serve the people, the motherland. A manager - to manage. The thesis that every cook can rule the state is not true! The state should be managed by professionals. And it is not permissible to make experiments in the management of the state "it will turn out, it will not work"! Everything must be verified, calculated and only then there will be success. And every citizen should express his life position in government in elections. President, the Duma, the local government. And we have a third of the people first do not vote, and then they say that the power is bad. Yes, and to choose something not particularly from anyone. No professionals. That such opus are born about the creation of a Cossack army.

I must remind the author that 108 Guards PPD is deployed in Kuban, in Novorossiysk. Full name: 108-th Guards Airborne Assault Kuban Cossack Order of the Red Star Regiment. What prevents Kubanians from embodying their ideas within the framework of the existing army? Airborne - the elite. Even with this scenario, look at the composition of the regiment. Do you think there is no end of Kuban? No matter how wrong! Well, for a start, and would organize an interaction! In the same 7 Gu. The Airborne Troops of the 247-th Airborne Assault Caucasian Cossack Regiment stationed in Stavropol. At one time, the leadership of the region made considerable efforts to leave the paratroopers in the Stavropol region, for which they were honored and praised. But ... Anyone wishing to show the best qualities of the Cossacks - go ahead! Report to the contract, through the draft board for a term! And do not wrinkle poppy seeds! Serve normally need!

About the "mummers". At one time, the Cossack form (as presented by the author in the photographs) was progressive. New samples of the form in the first third of the last century were advanced samples of the industry of that time. 100 years have passed. Is it because people who wear this form are perceived as mummers that they wear it like at a carnival. I do not want to offend anyone! I will specify, earlier it was the FORM CLOTHING. Ie as it is now in the army. Look around. Military models of clothing are weights and no one calls them mummers! In the army "peacoats" and rybalochku go and hunt and in the barn for firewood. And in Cossack clothes? If only for the parade. It makes no sense now to spend money on sewing a Cossack pattern of a shirt or tunic with two small buttons under the throat for everyday wear! Who wore, he knows - it is not very convenient! What for? If there is a lot of modern comfortable clothes. Now, if they had invented a MODERN form for the Cossacks, taking into account the traditions and wishes of the Cossacks themselves, taking into account modern materials and industry achievements, I think the Cossacks themselves would not refuse such a form! And now there is no sense in this form. To go on a parade in an ethno village where tourists are shown how people on horses with saber cut plastic bottles on poles? Show and only.
It is much more important that people who identify themselves as Cossacks feel the need to be a Cossack in a SOUL. They feel the need to unite with the same in the community to achieve good. They feel the need to BE USEFUL TO OTHER CITIZENS. And there is no bad in it. Only good. And this state must take into account. Develop, help, support. The military registration and enlistment offices should call on the Cossacks in the Cossack units (the same 108 regiment). Duma to consider the state of the Cossacks, determine their status, if such a category is really needed by the state.

And so that there are no such people as in the Great Patriotic War who were marching in orderly ranks as part of the Wehrmacht, now we need to think over the state policy towards the Cossacks. And in many respects it is a miscalculation of the state itself. Miscalculation in the international policy, when the state can not protect some of its citizens from others, too, its citizens. Miscalculation in education and culture. When some citizens believe that their culture takes precedence over the culture of who is close. Or even this culture is not! Inability to resolve economic issues. Pursuing political goals, billions of grants for the development of some regions are injected into the country without properly developing neighbors because there are fewer problems with them. And the people see and feel all this and live with it. And if the state cannot solve these problems, because some representatives of this state lack the brains, then the people themselves are trying to solve their problems. Cossacks is a structure in which many mechanisms of power are copied and displayed, and more rigid, based on submission and discipline. Ie the people are ready for discipline and strict leadership. Only a stick to bend on the back is not necessary. And as long as the state as a whole and local authorities do not create normal living conditions, there will always be attempts to take a little power away from this very power. For some reason, it seems that people would live normally and individual representatives of thoughts would not arise "we are ours, we will build a new world ..."

Why don’t they need to be afraid? So then any part of the people who have weapons is dangerous. Remember the saying that even a stick shoots once a year.

Yes, he is not afraid of Cossacks, but the selection and subsequent opposition of the Cossacks to the rest of the people. Well, the author does not want the gangs to be formed from the Cossacks. But regarding the fact that the cook should not govern the state, this is the author in captivity of liberal troubles. Initially, as a keepsake, it sounded something like this - We must give the people such an amount of knowledge that every cook can manage the state. Agree, there is a difference.

And so that there wouldn’t be those like in World War II who marched in orderly rows as part of the Wehrmacht

And what's so surprising about that? Cossacks, by definition, were semi-legal gangs that served anyone, just to pay. While there was a threat from the Crimean Khanate, the Cossacks suffered, disappeared, so the masses of the armed poorly controlled people became simply dangerous, hence the resettlement to the Kuban. In general, the phenomenon of the Cossacks only makes sense when they live on the frontier; in other cases, rapid decomposition begins. At the same time, the Cossacks' ambition is higher than the roof. In the Russian Federation there is only one structure entitled to a weapon more powerful than a pistol and a hunting rifle with AKSU - the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. As correctly noted, let the Cossacks go there. I am not opposed to territorial formations in the problematic regions, it is better to give Cossacks weapons than to Caucasians or to whom, but these should be normal rifle units, and not the devil knows who is in the form of the long-dead Empire.

No, you just have problems with history, you can even recall the turmoil of the beginning of the 17th century, when the Cossacks were part of the Polish occupiers. Actually, there are only 2 ways of organizing armed people: the army and the gang. A gang, in principle, can periodically be hired by someone. Actually, the Cossacks lived like that, or we serve you, or we will rob you a little. And if you recall the Khmelnitsky and Pereyaslavskaya Rada, then in fact it was a popular referendum to whom to join, the results of which somehow did not really please the Cossack foreman. After all, what is good for peasants and ordinary Cossacks is bad for hetmans who dreamed of noble rights for their loved ones, and the nuts of the Russian Tsar were tightened tightly. They could even hang for treason or theft of state money, which did not suit the fans of democratic Polish orders at all.

The authorities continued to have problems with the Cossacks, the same Pugachevschina. So we need to think 100 more times whether it is worth remembering what could work in the realities of the 17-19 centuries, but now it has nothing under it, except for the ambition that the ancestors of 10 knees back were chopped with checkers with highlanders. And we say not Russian, but Cossacks.

      Avenger711,
For the ending, "it's better to give weapons to the Cossacks than to the Caucasians," like + must be put ... For everything else, a bunch of - .. Regarding the "resettlement" to the Kuban .. Not your truth! - It was the creation of a STRENGTHENING (that is, already on the "basis of that what IS!) ... Mozdok-Azov line .. Along the rivers of Kuban, Terek (tributaries), Kuma .. 9 fortresses were installed (now they are Mozdok, Stavropol, Georgievsk, Krasnodar, etc.) .. These fortresses were delivered without the introduction of regular troops !! Why ?? !! How could it be? Yes, because the villages have already been there !! And from time immemorial !! You did not ask yourself the questions "And how is it, where did they come from, the villages on, now territories , Chechnya, Ingushetia ?? WHY, when there were no such fortifications yet .. "Caucasians" have NOT mastered such favorable lands, which we now know as the Stavropol, Krasnodar Territory ??? Why are they such fools in the "mountains" sitting ?? And right now, suddenly decided to "populate" these territories, and brazenly ??? Isn't it because someone didn’t give it to them from the FORMATION OF CENTURIES ??? .. Or maybe they will "turn" to the fact that now at the foot of Elbrus there are excavations of the "city" .., which is supposed to have been in 300g. AD (!) .. and RODA are mentioned (!); Alan and Cossack .. And how was the region of the Caucasian Mineral Waters (Kislovodsk, Pyatigorsk, etc.) suddenly "out of anyone's"? Did the Russians come and make a resort? And at the same time there is not a single mention that there they "drove out" someone! - Because the COSSACKS PENTIGORIA have lived there from time immemorial !! And right now, the "Caucasians" are pushing us that this is their land !! .. And this is because we ourselves do not voice our history and "hush up" .. And for the Cossacks it is generally necessary to write a whole historical encyclopedia .. And my great bow to them !!. ..

The fortification line from whom? That's right from the highlanders. That is, the warriors, who had nothing to do in Zaporozhye, were simply moved to where a job was found for them. Learn history. And the job appeared precisely when the Russians came to the Caucasus and met the "hospitable" local population.
And what the highlanders did was ask them, but when in the early years of secular power the Cossacks had a conflict with it, and their lands were transferred to the Chechens, most of the lands were left uncultivated. That is, there was no particular desire to plow among the highlanders, it is easier to rob. It is not surprising that soon the new government remembered the best traditions of General Ermolov.

You teach history .. And also go to Terek, Kuma, Kuban and tell this "theory" there .. I come from those places .. I am telling a "piece" of history. (The document is kept in the Stavropol Museum of Local Lore in free access from the Empress). Catherine-2, was a connoisseur of grape wines and was very versed in their origin .. Once at a feast they served her grape wine and said "Mother, did you determine where this wine came from?" .. The Empress tasted and said "This wine is Burgundy (France)" .. She was told "This wine was sent to you by the Cossacks who live near the town of Madjar, where they have lived from time immemorial .. That edge is favorable and requires development .." .. To which she said, "Name that place" Burgun-Madjary ".. it is and now my uncle lives there and I was there !!!!! And the Cossacks lived there .. BEFORE FATHER !! This was the only time when the Empress made a mistake in the tasting .. This additionally influenced her decision on the Mozdok-Azov Fortification Line. Which was NOT "created" from the highlanders .. But because of the victory of Russia in the Russian-Turkish war (!) And as a "designation" of its borders .. Etc. and so on ... (for grape wine- tell how many decades it is necessary to "grow" grapes to reach the level of "elite" ???) ..

The conflict was inspired by the Bolsheviks. Just the Ingush, Chechen, Ossetians, the Bolsheviks gave up the Cossack villages to be torn to pieces, which would provoke the outflow of the Cossacks from the army. The result is Cossack land (Grozny, including) under the banner of Islam.

The gene for a cultural and social lifestyle has not yet completely disappeared.
Cossacks, these "fragments" must be preserved and developed. Centuries, frontiers
the huge state was protected by the Cossacks, this was their way of life.
The relevance of such an estate in our time is not controversial. "Soft" expansion
the Chinese of the Far East, the "Islam" of the Stavropol region, shows that the border
the troops cannot cope with this task. Therefore, it is necessary to smoothly transfer "mummers" Cossacks into the category of real ones, with a traditional life
way of life. And to limit ourselves only to the creation, such as "Cossack Airborne Forces", this
    Another modern utopia.

I largely agree with the author that it is necessary to assess the current state of the “Cossacks”, and what to do with it. Leave as ensembles of songs and dances, as well as for tourist exoticism, or something else. I myself am quite negative towards Cossacks. Since I am of pre-retirement age, I remember well the stories of my great-grandfather, a participant in the civil war in Siberia. He and his brothers were in partisans, and then in the Red Army. So he spoke of the Cossacks as punishers and murderers, who did not spare the elderly, women or children. And as he said, white officers and Cossacks were not left alive. The history of the Cossacks is complex, as is the case throughout our country. There were pages of the Highest Valor in the service of the Motherland, and the most disgraceful pages in the war against one’s own people.
With the modern Cossacks, whose representatives I can periodically observe - a clumsy worthless drunk yelling about his special status, and with a frantic desire for budget money and privileges.
    Sincerely.

It is on this that you have built all the logic about the attitude towards the Cossacks.
The revolution, and even more so, the Civil War, cannot be an indicative criterion in determining - "who is the enemy, who is the friend." When a brother brutally killed his brother. Cossacks, like other estates, have always used politicians
in their own interests. (especially illiterate peoples)
All their life, the Cossacks defended the borders of Russia, but they preferred to remain silent about this in Soviet history.
So, it’s good to listen to the stories of my great-grandfather, but this is not a historical opus of the country. Better to study comprehensively
      the history of their homeland.

You have inattentively read my message. I do not deny the positive role of the Cossacks both in border protection and in various wars, in the development of Siberia and the Far East (I have read and have books by Arsenyev, Przhevalsky, Muravyov-Amursky, etc. - if these names tell you anything, books were published and reprinted in 50-80). But I also do not neglect the Cossacks’s war against their own people in the civilian, their bandit raids on the territory of the country from Manchuria, the oath of part of the Cossacks to the Nazis and their participation on the side of the Germans. I repeat, the story is complicated, but you won’t erase words from the song. And the history of the country, I think that I know no worse than you, and I do not accept mentor teachings on the study of history.

I carefully read both articles. Probably the truth is somewhere in between. Cossacks were different. If we take into account the Zaporizhzhya Sich, where the Cossacks did not have a family, land, etc. Those accusations made against the Cossacks probably have some basis. However, it must be borne in mind that not a single government (neither Ottoman nor Polish) was interested in the main value of the Cossacks of Zaporozhye - the Orthodox faith. An opposite example is the Don Cossacks, which, in addition to solving the territorial integrity of its territory and efficient land use, solved the tasks of initial military training and police functions. The absence of the need for military cover of the Don Region did not lead to the liquidation of the Don Army, as happened with the Zaporizhzhya Sich.
Moreover, under the same conditions, the experience of the Don Cossacks was spread across the entire southern border of the empire to the east. I agree with the opinion of the historical parallels expressed in the discussion.
However, at the same time, Cossack patrols in Moscow cause rejection and perplexity in me. This is not their task. Cossacks historically covered the borders of the fatherland, stopped migration, forced the population of the outskirts to comply with the laws of the empire.
The only question is whether the Cossacks will want to advance to areas dangerous for living, where their activity is needed, or whether it will also strive for the capital.

There is a feeling, judging by the events in our state, that the borders of the Fatherland already walk through the capitals, and the fact that the Cossacks showed up there is quite indicative. To recall at least the events with the exhibition of the blasphemer Gelman at the plant-300 Cossacks from different Cossack troops came and expressed their opinion. You will say that the event is not a military event, but such "exhibitions "They hit harder than bombs, since the goal is to kill the soul, but after killing the soul, the body is not difficult to make your own for the enemy. And the Cossacks have a common opinion about migrants, not to mention the external enemy. The Cossacks have a powerful motivation to defend the Fatherland in all respects ( spiritual, physical) and self-organization. coupled with a rejection of betrayal. I personally liked what Werr suggested, it was concrete and with concrete actions.

Have you ever heard of such a historical fact as the decree of the Bolshevik authorities "on decossackization." This is an order for the total destruction of all the Cossacks, according to which all polls were destroyed. They chopped up, shot, hanged, burned alive in huts children, women, old people in all the lands of the historical residence of the Cossacks. Read the documents, so the SS have a rest. These are genuine documents from the state archives. Here your great-grandfather also said that the Cossacks were not taken alive, this is the same order. And the fables about the atrocities of the Cossacks, this is the political information of the lousy commissars who were in every division of the red army, red paramilitary detachments. And they were masters of writing fables, most of the people were blown away by these fables.

Nevertheless, I try not to raise the atrocities of the Cossacks, not only in civilian life or after it, but also to screams about decossacking and other oppression and merits to the Fatherland, convincing a stubborn opponent: "This is our most difficult and difficult story." If desired, everyone can find a sore callus, and with the pleasure of a masochist, rebuild it. But, my message suggests that - personally, my attitude towards the Cossacks is more negative than positive. And to screams and squeals about special infringement, and on the basis of this requirement of a special status, it is unconstructive. Guys, as engineers and scientists say, "let's agree on terms." I do not understand what kind of dispute. I know one thing - never the Cossacks were organized "from above". This is a purely popular movement. It was the people themselves who united and their best sons went to fight, first with the Lyakhs and the Turks, and then with all the enemies of Russia. So: the current Cossacks should not be organized at all with the help of any bureaucrats.
Yes, the Cossacks must be loyal to the supreme power, but at the same time they must be on their own. The organization must come from the bottom. The maximum that can be accepted from the authorities is an additional payment for being a registered Cossack, ready to get together and go to war at any moment. Including, if necessary, then against the orange evil. (I already foresee a howl, about a "war with my own people")
The task of the Cossacks is to be ready for war, to defend at all levels the interests of the Russian people, including not quite legal methods, educate the younger shift in the basics of Orthodoxy, if necessary - then suppress the orange riots (i.e. only those performanceswhere the goal is to overthrow supreme authorityrather than individual local bureaucrats).
Atamans must be elected, bureaucrats in the appointment of atamans have nothing to do. In a word - authorities and Cossacks in no way, with the exception of the threat to the existence of the state and its integrity. At the moment, the active part of the Cossacks is struggling with bureaucrats-lovers of juvenile justice. I wish them good luck and I would not disdain by any means in their place in this rightful matter.

You're not right. Remember the story. Any attempts by the Cossacks to oppose the authorities ended sadly in the first place for the Cossacks themselves. How can one live at the expense of the state and conflict with it at the same time?
If the Cossacks follow the path of confrontation with the authorities, they will quickly slide down to the level of retirees, and will be beaten by their own population.
The task of the Cossacks is to counter external threats (uncontrolled relocation of the Chinese to our Far East, Wahhabism in the republics of the North Caucasus, protection of the northern sea routes)

After reading your philippic (this is not a curse, but a reason for reflection), I would like to nevertheless remind you of the existence of such a small thing as the Constitution of the Russian Federation. The right to carry out power actions rests with the power departments, and not like some entities (Cossacks, Pyatnitsky Choir or the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theater Orchestra). Action Permission Requirement

Well, thank God, there are people who want to think. When reading the first part, I immediately remembered the phrase: "He was a mighty, unyielding and fantastically ignorant man." So in the comments to the author they tried to explain something about the Constitution. What the hell, the Constitution, we will change, if the Cossacks need it, we will introduce a separate section that will be written exclusively for them. Then the bankers will demand the same. they also consider themselves the backbone of the state, further Pugachev. She only has a dozen husbands, and with all their relatives and friends, who can also be called the Family, they will make up a considerable (as they think to themselves) part of society. Ultimately, the Constitution will not represent the Basic Law, but a list of wishes written to Santa Claus by not very sober citizens. Even our national subjects of the federation do not verbally proclaim their primacy over the rest. And if they allow it in practice, it is because of the weakness, stupidity and meanness of the current government. In general, let's create another "elite" - quality, we just did not have enough to divide Russia.

many represent the Cossacks as armed settlers plowing on their plots and simultaneously engaged in military and political training. Plus those who dream of putting a riotous little head for Orthodoxy and Fatherland! This is a delusion, and this was understandable under Alexander I and Arakcheev with their military settlers. Cossacks served Russia, and not only Russia (for example, Turkey), for a whole range of nishtyaks and privileges. First of all, the Cossacks had their own, territorial autonomy with legislation that was different from the rest of the state (ordinary Cossack laws), and to a heap the Cossacks received payment for their service and did not pay any taxes at all. And even with such bonuses, no one was particularly eager to cossack on new lands with local violent natives. Therefore, many Cossacks to the Terek, Ural, Amur and even the same Kuban were sent administratively (tobish by force) from soldiers, state peasants, and partly from the Cossacks themselves and volunteers. And the Don Oblast (Oblast VVD) and the Cossacks were planning to liquidate with might and main at the beginning of the 20th century, because the Cossacks hampered the economic (industrial) development of these lands. But the courtiers were frightened by the large number of Cossacks and the possibility of their uprising (although Nicholas I was not at all afraid of plans to resettle all the Don people to Chechnya). And the Cossacks, yes, they formed as a special people with their own subculture, language and customs, and are no longer quite Russians or Ukrainians. True, since the time of repression and the Decree on decossackization, the order has lost its originality. Let me summarize. So yes, only the Cossack population can stop the "reconquista" of the mountaineers in the South of Russia. But the authorities must recognize the existence of the Cossacks as a sub-ethnos of the Russian people, grant autonomy to the Cossack lands on the border with the highlanders, and allow them to form their legislation based on customs. well, and increased funding for the people who suffered from repression and genocide (in general, everything that Chechnya has). very soon there will be no highlanders in the Stavropol region.

This is all unnecessary .. Allow the short-barreled weapons. The police would show loyalty, at least the same as for the highlanders. And that would not be forbidden to gather in groups. In half a year there will be order. And you don’t need any subethnos and the like ... Cossacks are the Russian population - do not fence the garden ...

The last Nekrasovites returned to the USSR in the middle of the 20th century because Nekrasov bequeathed not to return under the tsars, although the Tsar forgave them and the authorities suggested returning many times. Cossacks very often staged anti-state uprisings, because the State is an instrument of violence against free (free) people. Cossacks still were a little anarchists. well, and the Cossacks (Don) were Orthodox sectarians, tobish Old Believers. The uprising of Pugachev and Bulavin-Nekrasov was a struggle for the old faith, and in the Don, even after the immigration of the Nekrasovites, many Old Believers remained.

1876 - Zemstvo was introduced on the Don, but Don Cossacks protested against such an innovation and insisted on the revival, instead of Zemstvo representative institutions, of traditional Army Circles. The circles were not restored, and the Zemstvo was abolished on March 4, 1882.
-1904 - Don rumors came about the intention of the Russian government to carry out new reforms and destroy the last vestiges of ancient Cossack rights. They said that the administrative system on the Don land would be equated with the provincial one, and its population would have to abandon all remnants of democratic customs and equal rights and obligations with other residents of the empire. However, the Russo-Japanese War soon began, which required a lot of Cossack cavalry. Don Cossacks were also needed after its end to suppress the outbreaks of the 1905 revolution. The Donets, faithful to the oath, supported the Romanov dynasty, although the main cadres of the Don non-military intelligentsia of the revolution sympathized. The highest gratitude was declared to the Cossacks “for the selfless, tireless and faithful service to the tsar and homeland, both in the theater of war and in maintaining order within the empire”

Dear, you are talking nonsense! You stay a little bit in reality. First of all, all Cossacks from time immemorial were Orthodox, not formally by baptism, but true believers, they took an oath, and serving some other country, especially the "Basurman" country, is complete nonsense. Secondly, the formation of the first Cossack troops with their lands was the business of the Cossacks themselves and not an administrative initiative of the center, which in Russia in the 13th century, to which the first mentions of the Cossacks in the chronicle sources refer, did not exist. In 1631, the Don Cossacks took Azov from the Turks, after which the Turkish Sultan sent a complaint to Tsar Mikhail Romanov about the outrage of the Tsar's subjects and a request to punish them to return the fortress to him, to which the Tsar replied that these people were not his subjects. Thirdly, about the evasion of the Cossacks from campaigns. The military matter is the very essence of life of the Cossacks, the main part of their way of life without it, the Cossacks would degenerate in a short time. About the economic slowdown, the conduct of agricultural production, in particular in the area of the Great Don Army, was the most effective in Russia. empire. About the elimination of the Don Cossack army, it's like now planning the elimination of the Airborne Forces.

        Galinanp,
Well, too, not everything is right .. The official "land" legalized was precisely "The Sovereign was determined" .. As for the Don and "Cossack agrarians" .. So you can return to the "first Don Cossacks" .. and there we learn that they are they did not even have a permanent camp and for a very long time .. And they lived, moving from place to place, in dugouts and not having wives .. And about the "agrarians" .. they had a specially written "Whoever will plow the land with rods" ( And why? Yes, "Will-Free" was the most important thing for the Cossack !! And the "personal land" was already beginning to "keep"! What kind of free Cossack is this ?!) .. And if you read "Stenka Razin" (which was a program piece in the USSR in schools) then you will read there that "the Cossacks received grain from the State" .. And there is also a letter from "informers" to one of the Empresses where it is written .. "Mother !! You do not deprive your Cossacks of your affection .. And they are damned you You give them money and grain ... so that they can carry out military service and don't know their needs .. And they have the land next to them ... runaway peasants They began to give them ... they took payment for plowing and grain! And then the grain to sell .. ". (Before the" empresses "how many Cossacks were on the Don ?? That is .. centuries ..). This is about the" agrarians ".. Well, according to these" denunciations "and it was decided later" To cut the land for the Cossacks for their personal needs "but at the same time the Cossacks themselves did not plow the land, preferring to hire runaway peasants ... But when the runaways began to be missed, they had to get up for the plow themselves .... From this began the self-sufficiency of the Cossacks themselves .. And before this was 100% State funding ..because there was a CONTRACT with Tsar John 4 (the Terrible) according to which "the Tsar gave money for the service" !! so then .. Many Cossacks themselves do not know their history ..

Once again about history. Don Cossacks were put into public service by Peter the Great, before that Russian tsars invited Cossacks to participate in any military campaigns. The boundaries of the lands of the Don Army under Peter1 were determined by the fact of the Cossacks' residence. Geographically, this is the boundaries of the former so-called Wild Steppe dominated by mainly warlike detachments of Tatars and Nogais, whom the Cossacks partially exterminated and squeezed out of its borders for about two hundred years. So the Cossacks coveted this land, and did not receive "the sovereign's grace". About agriculture among the Cossacks - there are historical documents, in the fragments of the narrative of which it is indicated that as a result of the sudden raids of the Crimean Tatars, fields sown with cereals belonging to the Cossacks are burned. The documents date back to the period 1480-1530. The Cossacks already then led a sedentary lifestyle, they were family and it is not realistic that they depend on the given grain. If the king or wants, the families need to be fed. Your quote from the denunciation to Catherine is about the Zaporozhye Cossacks, in their charter, by the way, there was a prohibition to have families. Stenka Razin is an ordinary Cossack who, having recruited a band of Cossacks, stood out from the Cossack army. He left for free trade. All his further deeds are his deeds, but not the Don Cossack army. Your reference to the historiography of the USSR is unsuccessful, for ideological reasons then it was argued that Stenka Razin and his vatazhniki were the entire Cossack army.

Cossacks were Orthodox, that's right. But they were Old Believers, and Solovetsky monks and monks fled to the Don. And with the Old Believers they fought very fiercely until the introduction of Unity at the end of the 19th century, however, few of the Old Believers accepted it. Only in 1917, at the Council of the Russian Orthodox Church, the rituals of the Old Believers were recognized as God-saved. The Cossacks and the Chernomorites were "novovers", for Nikon decided on reform after the reunification of Ukraine with Russia, and in Kiev for a long time they held a service according to the Greek rite. The uprisings of Bulavin and Nekrasov took place under the slogan of the struggle for the true faith (Old Believers), and then at least half of the Cossacks left the Don for Turkey. well, the Zaporozhye (Danube) Cossacks quite successfully served the Port and the Sultan. If you watched the opera Zaporozhets beyond the Danube, the main character saves the Sultan there. The Cossacks also took part in the Russian-Turkish wars on the side of the Turks. This is what prompted Potemkin to the idea of creating the Troops of the Loyal Cossacks, as the antipode of the Unfaithful (Transdanubian). True, the Unfaithful army still united with the Verny (Black Sea) in the Kuban, where they moved after they fled from the Turks under the ataman Gladky.

Forgive me, you are right about the Cossacks, in the heat of the polemics I strayed to generalization, meaning all the Cossacks in general. I mean the Don Cossacks, this topic is closer to me. You have inaccuracies here. Don Cossacks, basically without any excesses, accepted the "new faith" during the reform of Patriarch Nikon, only Cossacks of yurts along the Medveditsa River and partly along the Khoper River opposed. Some of them, led by Nekrasov, went to Turkey, but they did not get up to serve the Sultan, they left military affairs altogether, and were engaged only in agriculture. They retained their faith and did not "get drunk", and now Nekrasov Old Believers live there. But they did not fight on the side of the Sultan against anyone, this is what I distinguish in principle. And there are still Old Believers in the Bear, and they have not quarreled on Khopr. But those Old Believers who remained on the Don, they were not infringed on their rights, they also remained part of the Don Army and took part in all the military campaigns that the Russian Empire waged.

Not even in this article, even to say anything about the modern Cossacks, is not a hunt, because the articles were written by people far from the Cossacks, their daily activities and life. And the Cossacks are somehow fialetovo, for 20 years they have already got used to watering and trying them by all and sundry. As the Cossacks say, "Don't bother, they didn't interfere."
    - Cossacks have a new uniform since 2010.
    - Many Cossacks serve in the armed forces, explosives, police and other systems.
    - A lot of Cossacks civilians are engaged in addition to their main professional activities, the military-patriotic education of children and youth, the promotion of the Cossack culture, public order in the ranks of the national squads, and so on.

All these conversations are good and interesting, but what do we have in reality. All these are attempts not to look into the future, but nostalgia for the past or ideas about this past. Do you need the Cossacks? Definitely yes! I would say it is necessary! But the main question arises in what form? When trying to prove the necessity of the Cossacks or "disguise", everyone remembers the past, someone glorious exploits and valiant service, and someone betrayal. But alas, not only the Cossacks betrayed, and not only they were valiant warriors. We are all people, we should not idealize or denigrate the Cossacks. What the modern Cossacks are is an expression of resistance to a change in the social order of a separate patriarchal community, which is trying by any means to resist the change in social realities. Yes, the Cossacks in the 19th century were a successful social tool that solved many problems, but alas, time is passing and the tasks that the Cossacks were solving are not relevant today. To solve the problems of law and order, there is the Ministry of Internal Affairs (not worth talking about its level, this is a solvable task for reforming); to protect the state, there is the Armed Forces - so why do we need the Cossacks? You are talking about rapid response brigades, and why should they be created within the framework of the Cossacks and not the RF Ministry of Defense, what's the point of creating the VS-2? Actually not what. Modern society implies narrow specialization in any field of activity, what is an ordinary Cossack specialist? Alas, the Cossacks as an armed formation outlived themselves a century ago. But as an ideological and pedagogical education, the Cossacks have all the prospects for development. Let's look to the future and not dream about the return of "glorious times".

Many of the former enemies of Soviet Russia fought against Hitler's troops, and the priests of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad often did not bless our compatriots to participate in the fratricidal war on the side of Germany. Shkuro and Krasnov thought about their personal interests, trying to occupy their niche among the numerous hangers-on of the fascists, and not at all about the independent "Kazakia". The main role in persuasion was revenge against the Bolshevik regime. The same arguments were cited for many representatives of similar military units from Ukrainians, Georgians, Chechens, Latvians and other peoples who considered themselves the most affected by the communists. Bolshevism oppressed people not on a national basis and Russians suffered from not less, but more often more than other peoples. .But fascism was even more terrible and our grandfathers had one homeland too! People who come to their own land with foreign hordes can only be called traitors. For comparison, 279 Cossacks during the Second World War were awarded the title of Hero of the USSR, more than 100 were awarded military orders, the total number of Cossacks who took part in hostilities against Nazi Germany is more than 000 people, including Twice Hero of the Soviet Union Alexander Efimov (future Marshal of Aviation) , Hero of the Soviet Union Georgy Kuznetsov (later - Commander of the Air Force of the Navy), Hero of the Soviet Union Viktor Konyakhin (in 300 he will become the first ataman of the revived Terek Troops, Tank ace No. 000, Hero of the USSR D. Little Russians settled not only in the Kuban and Terek, but also the old Cossack lands. An example of this is the resettlement along the Ilovlya River (a tributary of the Don). The villages and farms alternate there, one through one.
The task is to "dilute" the dense Cossack settlement in order to have someone to rely on if necessary.

The Terek was intensely settled by serfs from Ukraine and linear Cossacks from the Don.

The Terek was never settled by serfs, especially from Little Russia. 1722 the cordon line was established along Sulak until it merged with Agrahan, for which a part of the Terts and a thousand Cossack families from the Don were relocated to a new place and formed the Agrahan army. below Kizlyar, making up the Terek-Kizlyar army, which soon merged with the Terek-Family.
In 1746 this army united with Grebensky. The new army was called Grebensky, but nine years later, an independent Terskoe-Semeinoe army emerged from it. Both the Grebenskoe army (exhibiting 450 service Cossacks), and Terskoe-Semeinoe (exhibiting 400 service Cossacks) and Terskoy-Kizlyarskoe (exhibiting 200 service Cossacks) were subordinate to the Kizlyar commandant, the Astrakhan governor and the highest authority - the Military Collegium. In 1770, 517 families of the Volga Cossack army were resettled, settled in five villages (Galyugai, Ishchera, Naur, Mekeny and Kalinovskaya), 100 families of gunners from the Don, who formed the Lukovskaya stanitsa, 250 Don Cossacks to strengthen the artillery and all the lower ranks of the Cossack team of the Moscow Legion. The two-hundred Mozdok mountain Cossack team was formed from the Kabardians, and then 200 families of baptized Kalmyks, the serf militia, transferred from Saratov and created the Stodarevskaya stanitsa, were enrolled in the Cossacks. All these settlements formed the Mozdok Cossack regiment, which nominated one thousand service Cossacks. In 1777, in order to extend the line of Cossack settlements from Mozdok further to Azov (which passed to Russia according to the Kuchuk-Kainardzhiyskiy treaty of 1774), a number of fortifications were erected - from the confluence of the Malka River into Terek and further along the Kura, Zolka, Kuma. The remaining 700 families of the Volga Cossacks (mainly from the Don) were transferred to this line, who founded the villages of Yekaterinogradskaya, Pavlovskaya, Maryinskaya and settlements at the fortresses of Georgievskaya and Aleksandrovskaya, which later made up the Volga Cossack regiment (out of six hundred). And one more thing, the Cossacks never married peasant serfs, a simple example is enough, the appeal to the Cossack "muzhik" was equated with an insult.

not serfs, but state villagers were sent to wives. The serfs were not sent, I put it wrong here. Naturally, for the serfs are the property of the nobles and the nobles would never give up their property, but only for money. Even Suvorov did not give his serfs to the miracle heroes. But the fact is that in Ukraine, after the destruction of the registered Cossacks and then the Zaporizhzhya Sich, the Cossacks did not go anywhere. Yes, partly the former Cossacks formed into the Army of the Loyal Cossacks, the Little Russian and suburban Cossacks partly into regular regiments. But there were more than a hundred thousand registered Cossacks and assistants, as well as families. They became state peasants or remained in the Cossack estate, albeit without a military administrative structure. From these half-villagers, half-Cossacks, Ukrainian Cossack regiments were formed in almost all wars of the 19th century. And also from these people the "feeding" of the Kuban and Terek was carried out.

There is also an inaccuracy. The Kuban Cossacks are direct descendants of the Cossacks of the Zaparozh Sich. The military interaction between the Don and Cossacks has existed since the development of the Wild Steppes by the Don Cossacks. Further, the most striking fact of the military alliance is the help of the Cossacks to the Don to capture Azov. By the way, in several historical documents there is evidence that one of the Cossacks was a young Cossack, literally, Bogdan Khmelnichenko. During this period only these two Cossack associations existed, it was not surprising that such close interaction. At that time, when Catherine abolished the Zaporizhzhya Sich by her decree, the Don Cossacks led heavy fighting in the North Caucasus, Nogais at that time were crowded out from the plains of the modern Krasnodar Territory. Military operations were in the mountains against the highlanders. The Don people called the Cossacks squeezed out of Sich to settle on the conquered lands. After the resettlement, the Cossacks took a joint part with the Don in fighting in the mountains. A part of the mountainous area was recaptured, on which there remained watchtown Cossack villages inhabited by Don and Cossacks, which eventually took shape in the Terek Cossack army. By the way, the war against the Nogais and Highlanders was not enlightening in nature, but a response to the frequent attacks of highlanders and legs on the Cossack lands .

Who remembers them? What for? You want to poke the Cossack collaborators and say that they are worse or better than the ROA soldiers, SS Galicia divisions, and so on. That is why the participation of hundreds of thousands of real Soviet Cossacks in the ranks of the cavalry corps and other types and arms of the Red Army were not involved in the Victory over Germany? What do you show and prove by this?

The Cossacks were the only ones who enjoyed the full confidence of the German command, and therefore fought in the most critical sectors of the front as well.

And so they never fought on the Eastern Front, and in Yugoslavia with the partisans of Tito, what kind of trust is that they did not trust to fight against their own? Someone who, but the Balts and Galicians enjoyed great confidence of the Germans for their Russophobic position was a synchron of their racial theory, although they both considered the same manure as the Slavs.

In the same year, the Cossack corps entered into combat contact with units of the Red Army. For a month now, over and over again, articles devoted to the Cossacks have been thrown onto the forum. Articles by outside observers, sort of Great Russians about worthless, "half-bandit" rabble.
Reading the comments, one can see how non-Cossacks belong to the Cossacks in the past. present and future. Fear, hatred, incompetence. Fear and hatred can be understood, but ignorance is already enraging. Well, yes, God is the judge.

I would like to ask, does Russia need borders that are closed (above all) from the creeping militant Islamization? Do Russians want to maintain their national identity?
Is it possible to resolve these issues without the Cossacks?
But with the Cossacks it would be more reliable! Not just (you need to change the administrative division, change the constitution). But, when the question is about the presidency, the term of the board is changed.
There is a fear that giving the Cossacks a special status, other minorities will require this status. And here we have to take that very step — to finally understand that in a multinational country all ethnic groups cannot be equal (otherwise it will be even worse later)
The Russian people (and the Cossacks, if you want, their special forces) must bear great responsibility and a great responsibility for the integrity of the Fatherland.

Another interesting historical fact is associated with the relocation of Little Russian Cossacks to the Terek. Caught in the mountains of the Gentiles and Cossacks, Old Believers, Chernihiv and Poltava yearned for home. In addition, the mass of unmarried Cossacks was not completely linked to the colonial policy of the Russian government, which involved the creation of Cossack villages inhabited by family Cossacks. The question was simply resolved - all in the same Chernigov and Poltava provinces, unmarried state peasant women were recruited who wished to move to the Caucasus. This resettlement, which has received semi-legendary coloring in Ukraine, is popularly known as the “Girl Set” [7].

The first correct article on the topic of modern Cossacks. If there really is such a great desire to serve the Motherland, go to serve - to the army or law enforcement agencies, they will only be glad there. Some will again write about the venality and evil injustice of the authorities in the police departments, about the atrocities of Caucasians in the army and the accompanying officers without liberty. But after all, here it is a field for the manifestation of their prowess, honor and valor. Just don’t sell yourself if asked and don’t s_ste before the authorities and "evil" Caucasians.
