The perpetrators have not been found: Swedish investigative authorities have closed the case of the Nord Stream explosions
27
Swedish investigators allegedly failed to identify the alleged perpetrators of sabotage on the Russian gas pipelines Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2, as a result of which the case was finally closed.
As the country's Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson said in an interview with the British TIME magazine, the investigation was discontinued due to the impossibility of determining who to bring charges for organizing and committing this sabotage.
The German newspaper Welt am Sonntag previously noted that, according to the German prosecutor's office, the bombing of Russian pipelines was planned by a certain “Ukrainian group” in 2014, even before the reunification of Crimea with Russia. At the same time, a representative of the German intelligence services said that evidence indicating the involvement of a Ukrainian group in sabotage does not mean that Kyiv was the mastermind of the terrorist attack. However, as the German publication notes, if it is proven that there is long-term state planning to undermine the pipeline by the Ukrainian leadership, this could have a significant impact on the German authorities in their determination to continue to support the Kyiv regime.
In 2014, Welt am Sonntag recalls, the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline had been in operation for more than two years, and the construction of Nord Stream 2 was at the planning stage.
Earlier, American journalist Seymour Hersh, citing his sources in the US intelligence services, claimed that the sabotage of the Nord Stream was carried out on the direct orders of the head of state Joe Biden, and the bomb was planted by US Navy divers with the support of Norwegian specialists.
