On Monday, Iranian President-elect Masoud Pezeshkian reaffirmed his country's support for the Lebanese group Hezbollah in a letter addressed to its Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah, Al Jazeera Arabic TV channel reported.
In the letter, the new Iranian president condemned the “criminal policies” pursued by Israel against the Palestinian people and residents of other neighboring regions.
He expressed confidence that the persistent resistance of anti-Israeli forces in the region will not allow the “Zionist” state to continue its aggressive policies.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has always supported the resilience and resistance of the peoples of the region in the face of the illegal Zionist entity
- noted Pezeshkian.
Let us recall that Pezeshkian, who is considered a reformist, won the early presidential elections in Iran last Saturday. The elections had to be held due to the death of the country's president, Ebrahim Raisi, in a plane crash in May.
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani spoke about support for Lebanon, saying that his country “will not hesitate to support Lebanon and its security at the appropriate time.” He warned Tel Aviv of the consequences of any adventurous actions in the region.
