The value of contracts concluded by the Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates during the 11-th international exhibition IDEX-2013, increased to 14,1 billion dirhams (3,84 billion dollars).

On the third day of the exhibition, 17 contracts were signed with a total value of 4 billion dirhams (1,088 billion dollars).

Most of the agreements were concluded with companies from the United Arab Emirates. According to the representative of the organizing committee, Major General Obeid El Ketbi, this was made possible by the creation of joint ventures with foreign suppliers by national companies, which increased the capabilities of the national defense industry.

The largest contract on the third day of the exhibition was 1,1 billion dirhams ($ 299,32 million) for the operation of the fueling infrastructure and the supply of fuel for aviation and UAE ground equipment, signed with national manufacturer ADNOC (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company).

Global Medical Solutions has a contract worth 550 million dirhams (149,66 million dollars) for the training of medical teams.

An agreement was signed with Al Shamil worth 516,8 million dirhams (140,63 million dollars) for the training of staff officers.

The contract worth 390 million dirhams (106,12 million dollars) was concluded with the company Hydra Trading for the maintenance of the OBL Leclerc, BMP-3, BBM Hammer, Tatra cars, mortars and self-propelled howitzer G6.

The contract worth 330,6 million dirhams (89,96 million dollars) with the International Golden Group (IGG) provides for the supply of various military equipment. Another agreement worth 210,8 million dirhams (57,36 million dollars) was signed with the company for the supply of artillery ammunition.

Mubadala Development Company (a division of AMMROC) was awarded a contract worth 143 million dirhams (38,91 million dollars) for the maintenance, upgrading and repair of Panther helicopters.

Piroseif Technologies Trading will supply equipment worth 16 million dirhams (4,35 million dollars) for the UAE Navy.

Abu Dhabi Shipbuilding (ADSB) received an order worth 126 million dirhams (34,26 million dollars) for the installation of satellite communication systems on board Bainuna class corvettes.

Caracal Light Arms (Tavazun Holding) will supply various types of rifle arms to the UAE weapons and ammunition worth 132,3 million dirhams (36 million dollars).

A contract was signed with Al Fattan Shipbuilding for the supply of HITROL-N naval artillery systems worth 16 million dirhams (4,35 million dollars).

Al Badi Group will supply spare parts for tank tractors worth 34 million dirhams (9,25 million dollars).

The largest contract with a foreign contractor on the third day of the exhibition was signed with an American, Lockheed Martin. The agreement worth 134 million dirhams (36,46 million dollars) provides for the supply of ground equipment.

The contract with the US Geoye Solutions provides for the provision of satellite images worth 40 million dirhams (10,88 million dollars).

The Italian WASS (Whitehead Alenia Sistemi Subacquei) will supply torpedo protection systems for Abu Dhabi class corvettes in the amount of 28 million dirhams (7,62 million dollars).

The agreement for 181,1 million dirhams (49,28 million dollars) was signed with the Canadian Aerospace Limited company for the supply of a satellite communications system.

The American Fidelity Technologies Corporation will supply rifle trainers with a total value of 49,7 million dirhams (13,52 million dollars).

UAE AF also expressed interest in purchasing an additional 1000 Nimr highly mobile tactical armored vehicles (NIMR) from Nimr Automtiv. Thus, the UAE Sun plan to purchase a total of 1800 units. equipment of this type.

In general, during the work of IDEX-2013, the Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates signed 55 contracts.

Recall that on the first day of work IDEX-2013 with the Tula Instrument Engineering Design Bureau (KBP) signed a contract for the amount of 472,7 million dirhams (128,63 million dollars), providing for the supply of various types of ammunition.

The IDEX-2013 exhibition was visited by about 80 thousand people. It was attended by 1112 companies from 59 countries. The event was visited by more than 500 chiefs of staff, ministers of defense and other high-ranking officials from different countries.
