Tales of Chapai ... or how history is ridiculed
That is, just as the citizens who had not learned enough, having watched Tarkovsky's film "The Passion for Andrei", decided that this expression meant "The exciting adventures of Andrei", and not "The Passion of Christ as presented by Andrei," historical sources who read Wikipedia at best.
And the rest of the space is crammed with the usual serial hack. That is, the authors reached the nearest stamp or the nearest subject “approximately on the subject” - and popped it into the frame.
... In the office of the chief of the Cheka there are chairs from the nearest "Coffee House". On his desk is a vintage 1960-x lamp from a nearby club. The Red Army men are walking in suits, cropped in the nearest dressing room about Civilian - do not care that they could not be dressed like that in the described period. The demon of the revolution, Trotsky, with a huge wax nose, behaves as if information about himself was drawn from the literature of the “Memory” society. And when, in response to his order to surrender command, Chapaev (a professional military man, by the way) begins to cry that his legs were wiped out, and to quote the Golden Calf, written by 10 years later, on the subject “Academies have not finished” - Trotsky is not even laughs, and fiercely boom, like a psychopath of some kind.
Why? And because the most primitive demonic personality in the view of serial lazhemetchikov looks like that.
Why does Chapaev thump up and run after the women like mad, and these women — all as one in hysterics? Because the series, to think once, it is necessary to cut the loot, let's African passions about drunk Russian debauchery.
Why does Chapaev seem to be like a peasant from under Cheboksary, but speaks like a graduate of GITIS? Damn, but because he is a graduate, a serial workaholic, he has no time to retrain for peasant talk, he needs to cut the loot, and in the evening he will play with the same voice of an honest investigator.
Why, by the way, is the language of the heroes not even pretending to be the national language of a century ago? But because the screenwriter, about whom we are going to talk separately now, has no time to be credible. He has two more shows for the year, about Stalin and about Peter Leshchenko.
Why is the Cheka still just being born, and already nothing human, rapes everything, hits blood and shoots? And because it’s in all TV shows, I think this forever sexually preoccupied shaved-headed Chekist, who can only crave other people's women, shoot men at a flaky wall and beat real heroes in the balls, is always performed by the same actor.
Why does Commissioner Furmanov shoot Chapaev in the back? But because in the series the love triangle has to be intrigue, and a jealous commissioner is the same stamp as a lustful Chekist.
Why did they decide to make a film about Chapaev? And what, the untwisted brand and is bad.
... Now - about the main responsible director of this impassable lazhi is Sergey Shcherbin, and before that he filmed the unknown to me series “Russian Double”, “Loner” and “Highway Patrol 2”. And the writer of this impassable lazhi is Volodarsky Edward. And over the past decade, he has presented us with such hellish breakthroughs in Russian art, such as Ordinary Bolshevism, Inhabited Island, Shtrafbat, and Life and Fate.
And last year he died.
But, despite his death, this year we will have two more shows on his scripts:
1) "Peter Leshchenko." Since the singer P. Leshchenko was sitting - there is no doubt that shaven-headed security officers would beat him in the balls, and a lot of him, the Leschenkovskys, would fight women in hysterics.
2) "Son of the Father of Nations." If this is about Jacob Stalin, then there skinheads will beat some of his comrades, and a bunch of his former women will fight hysterically. And if about Vasily Stalin, then again a bunch of women will fight hysterically, and skinheads will probably beat the pilots and football players.
... And all this is not only because Edward Volodarsky, who died in the 72 year of life, like all the creators of his generation who were carefully nourished by the Soviet regime, was a stupid anti-Soviet.
He was hardly him when he wrote scripts for “His among strangers”, “Check on the roads” or “Ivan Lapshin”.
It’s just that a lot of water has flowed since then, and the creators, who have thoroughly traded themselves and turned, acquire something like an indifferent creative frigidity.
That is, all learned movements are repeated, but completely without taste and without involvement.
They don't care.
Therefore, the actual national history in the film “HRO” is about the same as the ancient history in the French classicist play from the life of Arcadian shepherds and naiads.
She, the story, is represented there in the form of several stilted characters from the “commedia de arte” of the anti-Soviet era. Tragic Hero-Lover - once; Merry, and at times the Evil Crowd - two; Lustful Chekist - three; Jealous Commissioner - four. Desperate to Kill a Russian White Officer - five.
At the same time, it is clear, by the way, that this time the leadership who felt the change in the wind (either the studio or the channel) explicitly asked the screenwriter and director not to go too far with the White Chimera. That is, do not overly breed admirals and ruddy gymnasium students, do not whip up the crunch of the pre-revolutionary French loaf and do not divide the sides into officers in white and unshaven sailor. In order, so to speak, to achieve historical reconciliation.
But the creators understood in their own way. That is, they grunt - and instead of devout white 1990's, they pulled out of the naphthalene brutal royal Cossacks from Hollywood musicals about pogroms. Apparently, they wanted to balance.
The result was even worse than it was: the red “HROs” came from anti-Soviet classicism, and the whites came from anti-Russian.
That is, because of what these two kinds of negative Russians are fighting - from the picture can not be completely disassembled.
... Well, and more. All this terrible crap, I mean "Chapay Passion", to the masterpiece of the Vasiliev brothers "Chapaev" has the same attitude as to the "Passion according to John" by I.S. Bakh.
A few days ago I watched a new television series from the first channel "Chapay Passion". In general, I do not enjoy watching such products, because of its traditionally low quality. And if we are talking about historical subjects, experience suggests that the product will be filled with ideological slops to the whole. This is despite the fact that officially there is no ideology in modern Russia. In fact, ideology, of course, is, and this is an ardent militant anti-Sovietism. So the films are shot so that the citizens do not forget what a totalitarian hell life was in the USSR, and how well they live now. However, the creators of modern domestic film production manage to squeeze the topic of horror of KGBism everywhere, even in the film about Ivan the Terrible. There are suspicions, if the first channel undertakes to put a plot about the Stone Age, then the theme of the mayhem of the domestic special services will be fully disclosed.
Well, here the acquaintances advised - a new series about Chapaev was released. And the series is good, truthful: for once, red is shown by normal people, whites are shown by ghouls and gangsters, historical events are reflected more or less adequately. And in general, the fact that the main state television channel turned to such a figure as Chapaev, already says a lot. It is said - done, tormented by known doubts (see above), began a thoughtful viewing.
The action begins in 1906 year: the future legendary divisional commander, lives on the Volga, works as a carpenter and turns love with his bride. If someone has forgotten, 1906 is the year in Russia - this is the peak of peasant uprisings, which almost grew into a civil war. A time when peasants massively rebelled, making up 85% of the population of the then country. They rebelled in response to growing hunger and poverty, powerlessness, progressive reforms that aggravated their extremely difficult lives. And the good king responded to these speeches with such terror, in comparison with which all the so-called Stalinist repressions are babbling. 1906 is a year in Russia - this is the time when the gallows stretched along the roads in orderly rows, when martial courts were introduced in peacetime in the country. Many people think that the so-called troika, that is, the state bodies of extrajudicial reprisals, were invented by Stalin in the year 1937. In fact, the tsarist government actively applied them already in 1906 year. But in the series, of course, this is nothing.
In the series, we are shown idyllic pictures of Russia, which we lost (s) (tm). Only not with balls, champagne and the crunch of the French roll, as in the movie "Admiral", but in the image of a cheap popular Russian hinterland. How do ordinary Russian people live at the beginning of the century? Perfectly! - the authors answer, - they live peacefully, work honestly, do not live in poverty, dress well, eat and drink heartily, and honor the Orthodox faith. The theme of religion is generally revealed richly - heroes begin to be baptized furiously after every second replica, there is a kind father - with a wise humble glance and the same speeches, and indeed the entire first series revolves around the construction of a new church.
Looking at this idyll it becomes decidedly incomprehensible - why, all of a sudden, in just ten years, such a prosperous country will fall into the abyss of chaos and bloody chaos? Not by itself, not from the accumulated contradictions in society! Not from crying social inequality! Not from spreeing in Paris for some and hunger for others! After all, nothing on the screen is viewed in principle. So why? A well-known thing, the authors answer, is from the Bolsheviks. From them, damned, all the troubles in Russia! Here and there, a revolutionary Bolshevik in the form of the brother of the protagonist is introduced into the plot. What is he doing? Underground agitation? Rallying people to fight for justice? No, a revolutionary without drinking drank moonshine and darkly promises to arrange a slaughter after the seizure of power. It is clear that this is a stupid dangerous degenerate. For who else may desire the destruction of the revealed grandeur?
Further the plot is transferred to the years of the First World War. Carpenter Vasily Ivanovich Chapaev, like many of his compatriots, is sent to the front to fight the Germans. As we remember from history, there was no particular interest for Russia in that war. Unlike 1941, nobody attacked us, the tsarist government pulled the country into world war, following the lead of its own exorbitant ambitions and demands of Anglo-French lenders-investors. The first successes of our troops at the front quickly and naturally ended, because in the course of achieving these successes a cadre army with the available materiel was knocked out. And if the loss of personnel could be filled with new calls, then weapon and ammunition for replenishment was nowhere to take. Because there were no strategic reserves in the event of a big war in the country, and there was absolutely not enough own industrial resources to compensate for the losses.
Few people know, but already in 1915, the question of arming new rifle units with halberds was seriously discussed in the State Duma due to the acute shortage of rifles. A year later, the tsarist government was forced to pay for the military supplies of the allies, sending its soldiers as cannon fodder to France. Actually, now known stories about “one rifle for three” in the years of the Great Patriotic War, they are just based on the real facts of the First World War that were rewritten for the needs of the dominant anti-Soviet ideology.
Not better things were in the Russian army and with food, uniforms. And this at that time, as officials and capital speculators shamelessly profited from supplies for the front. And the life in the rear worsened in a catastrophic way, where millions of peasant families were forced not only to survive without breadwinners, but also to maintain a multi-million fighting army. So, the army, without having a proper supply and looking at what is happening in the country, after a vigorous start and first successes, began to lose ground and roll back deeper into its territory. Is it any wonder that such a situation very quickly led to a social explosion and catastrophe?
What is the royal army in 1916, the Chapaev TV series? In the series about Chapaev in the army - everything is fine. All are well armed, well-fed and clothed, Russian troops do nothing but attack and beat the enemy. True, soldiers occasionally recall fallen comrades and their families, who have a hard time without breadwinners in the rear. Officers always sit in a dugout, nobly cut into cards and lead political discussions. And all would be nothing, but once again revolutionaries-Bolsheviks muddy the water, confusing honest subjects of the Orthodox power, ready to lay their heads for the tsar and the fatherland endlessly.
Imperceptibly, the fateful 1917 year is sneaking up. The February coup takes place in the country. What is the February coup, also known as the February Revolution? This fall in monarchy in Russia, caused by the aforementioned misfortunes and contradictions, which have torn apart the country for decades and became extremely acute during the war years. But Tsar Nicholas himself and his entourage at the end undermined the authority not only of his own, but of the Russian monarchy in principle. As a result, the entire progressive public unanimously demanded the abdication of the king from power. Renunciation was demanded by the State Duma, demanded by the generals, but ahead of them was the Orthodox Church, which earlier itself anointed Nicholas to the throne. All these beautiful people betrayed their monarch, above them and the country set by God. And the monarch meekly accepted their demands and thus also betrayed - both his traitors, the people, the country, and God. What is characteristic, then about any Bolsheviks, as about influential political force, the speech then was not. The Bolsheviks at that time were a small, little-known faction within the Social Democratic Party. The most famous leaders of the Bolsheviks were either in exile or in exile and did not actively participate in politics.
What were the consequences of the February coup for Russia? The consequences, without exaggeration, were catastrophic. After the liquidation of the monarchy by the government itself, the interim government declared itself. Staying in a revolutionary frenzy, it quickly ruined the old order, the authorities, the life support systems of the country, but could not create anything in return. So in a matter of weeks, real power in the territory of the former Russian Empire did not become in principle. The warring army was completely demoralized and deprived of control. As a result, already in the summer of 1917, the front cracked at the seams, a massive desertion began. And the interim government itself, instead of restoring elementary order in the country and the army, instead of solving the most pressing issues, has been mired in petty political intrigues. By October, despite the fact that Russia was still in a state of war with Germany, there was no one to fight, the front was ruined, and the country itself did not even fall apart, but in general went into disperse. Independence was declared not by territories and provinces, but by districts and individual villages. It was in such conditions that the Bolsheviks took power.
Is it somehow reflected in the show? Not. At some point, we are shown credits with something like “February 1917 of the year, the monarchy fell,” followed by a scene of soldiers rally at the station, where a certain citizen (presumably, again, the Bolshevik villain) pushes the need for an immediate end to the war. The rally immediately dispersed Cossacks. Meanwhile, Chapaev returns from his leave to the front. How are things at the front? Everything is the same as before. There is no mess, no loss of discipline, no mass desertion, no absurd liberalization of the army (when commanders choose personnel, he decides by voting whether to go on the attack today or not). According to the series, all these charms begin strictly after the scene in which officers in the dugout discuss with horror news - They say a coup in Petrograd, the government was overthrown by the Bolsheviks, the country was gone!
The conflict in the army is shown here - all the soldiers are strictly for the Bolsheviks, all the officers are strictly against. Although in reality, after the October Revolution, the officers of the old army were divided into three approximately equal parts - those who actively supported the Bolsheviks, those who spoke out strongly against, and those who chose to withdraw from politics. Among the soldiers, however, there were supporters of not only Bolsheviks, but also Mensheviks, Socialist Revolutionaries, anarchists. But in the series everything is strict, as stated above - the soldiers are in favor, the officers are against. Why is that? Obviously, because the creators of the first channel, while filming a historical series, do not bother to read at least school textbooks on history. Instead, they continue to stupidly copy what was once seen in Soviet cinema, richly seasoning it with “their own vision”.
Further along the plot begins a civil war. How is the war on the show? Good Reds - from ordinary Russian people, they fight with evil whites, which are represented by non-Russian Cossacks and a little - by former officers. So that it was immediately visible who is who, both of them from the first days of the war are dressed strictly uniformly: red - in the field uniform of a protective color, white - in white uniform shirts. It seems that it is known that for the first year and a half the civil war is going on in a devastated country with a ruined economy, regular armies are not formed, there is a trouble with supplies. Look, as shown on the screen, the troops will be much later, when the reds more or less restore the economy in the territory under control, and the whites finally move to the maintenance of their best friends, in fact - the owners, from abroad. And before that, guerrilla groups, both dressed and armed, are fighting on both sides, who are ready for anything. It is known that the mass of ordinary fighters on both sides wore sandals, not having any boots or shoes. But in the series everything is strictly the opposite - the fighters are politely dressed in a new uniform, and the sandals appear in the frame exactly once - and then they hang around the neck of a drunken red army man. At the same time, in the dialogues of Chapaev with his superiors and subordinates, complaints are constantly heard about the lack of all the most necessary. However, the screen does not reflect this at all. The feeling is that during the filming costume designers, property man and screenwriters worked without intersecting at all.
So, for most of the series, we are shown Chapaev’s participation in the civil war. What, on the show, is this participation expressed? Maybe the legendary commander commanded the troops, organized the command, mastered the commander's science? Oddly enough, no. The serial Chapaev leads the troops into battle exactly three times over the course of nine episodes of 50 minutes each. The rest of the time he whips moonshine, indulges in sexual debauchery and beats off the snares of the ghouls commissars whom the party imposes on him. On the topic of commissars, security officers and other horrors of Bolshevism - a separate conversation, below. And Chapaev, in rare breaks between these occupations, falls into hysterics like a pregnant woman, giving out howls from the series: “Why did the church get ruined, the Herods ?!”, “What should I feed the troops - rob the people again ?!” and so on. Obviously, according to the authors, a true hero, a talented commander and favorite of soldiers, behaves in this way. However, the fighters in the series are not far behind the commander.
There was such a Soviet director Sergei Bondarchuk, who was distinguished not only by his great talent, but also by a wealth of life experience - he was a native of the peasants, he went through the Great Patriotic War as a simple soldier, communicated with people, and saw everyone. He approached work responsibly, M. Sholokhov’s novel “They Fought for the Motherland” filmed extremely carefully and close to the text. Thanks to all this, he became known as the creator of a number of the most powerful and war films. That is why the Russian soldier looks like a Russian soldier, the commander - the commander, in the war - everything is in its place, everyone is busy, all normal living people fighting for a just cause, for their land, for loved ones, for the Motherland. Therefore, his films look truly and deservedly loved by the people. Looking at what is happening in the films of Bondarchuk, it becomes really clear who our ancestors were and why they were able to break the backbone of the invincible fascist beast, behind which stood all the power of continental Europe.
It is quite another thing the current rulers of thoughts. They did not serve in the army, they didn’t see a living commander in their eyes, they don’t care for the material, weave it abundantly, seasoning it with their sick fantasies. As a result, the legendary Chapay from them is a hysterical drunk and a libertine, instead of fighters and commanders, a gang of clowns, instead of a nationwide feat and a nationwide tragedy, complete confusion and clinical nonsense. Who is fighting with whom, for what, who the Cossacks are, what they want, why they are repairing indecency is absolutely not clear.
The red thread runs through the series the story of the misfortunes of the noble maiden. The daughter of a colonel aristocrat, she is first declared a revolutionary, after which she is immediately linked to the war with her father-officer, to kill those same revolutionaries. In the first battle he is captured, after which he again recalls his revolutionism and jumps into bed at Chapai. Next, she gets into the dungeons of the Cheka, where she is vilely raped by a ghoul, a security officer, and behind him - in general, all who feel like it. As a result, the young lady again finds herself in the Chapayev troops, where she must be arrested and shot again - for the wrong origin and murder of the ghoul-investigator.
And here the legendary divisional commander is revealed to the full - the young lady is no longer interested in him, because by this time he is cohabiting with the wife of his commissioner. So that the young lady is not seized by the bloody security officers, he persuades her to flee to the whites, and with her inclines to the desertion of the Red Army lover in love. What white men will do with the young lady, when half the country is already aware that she is Chapaya's lover, the division commander apparently does not think. Nor does he think about what information she would give the enemy about his troops. Instead, he shares the scorching revelations that the revolution is not a struggle for a just cause and a better life, but only the dirt and blood that it, the revolution, has broken for him all his life.
In general, judging by the motives and behavior of the characters, the script was written by a teenage girl. Here and the behavior described above Chapaya. Here and experienced opera from the Cheka, who in the midst of the interrogation of the counterrevolutionary breaks down to declarations of love and, wringing his hands, asks: “Tell me, do I have at least some chances ?!”, and then gets drunk and dirtyly rapes her lover. Apparently, according to the authors, the Chekists were engaged in precisely this - rape, torture and beating of detainees, mass executions of innocent people, abuse of official position.
Special mention deserve the commissioners. Military political workers in the series - only vile filth, cowardly and vile. Instead of performing direct duties, commissioners are engaged in strictly weaving intrigues, sabotage and the satisfaction of personal ambitions. Commissar Zakharov - scum and psychopath. Commissar Furmanov - scum and nothingness, not able to control not only the troops, but also his own wife. Because of his wife, by the way, he shoots Chapay in the back in the midst of the battle, because of her, without a respite, he scribbles slander on the divisional commander.
Somewhere in the middle of the action, Trotsky, chairman of the Revolutionary Military Council, appears in the frame. Honestly, I personally never had any particular sympathy for Lev Davydovich himself, nor for his activities both before and after his overthrow from the Soviet political Olympus. But at the same time, an objective historical fact: his merits in the establishment of Soviet power are significant. It is also known that by the end of the civil war in popularity and prestige, he was slightly inferior to Lenin alone. It is also known that Trotsky was a powerful orator and a subtle psychologist, enjoyed the glory of the “demon of revolution”, and was able to competently hold and pump up the audience at rallies and meetings. What is Trotsky on the show? Muddy nasty hog in a leather coat. Standing on the podium in front of the fighters, he eats a watermelon and spits seeds in the nearby colors. It is strange that, contrary to the established tradition, they did not show Stalin, who was rushing around the Kremlin corridors with a bloodthirsty hoot in search of another innocent victim.
In general, looking at the screen, this impression is created. I remember that recently they tried to convince us that in the Great Patriotic War, the people won in defiance of the communists and Stalin personally, who in every way interfered with the people. The creators of the series “Chapay Passion” seem to have decided to broaden and deepen this subtle thought. They and in the Civil War, won the people strictly in spite of the machinations of the Bolsheviks. It is possible to list other ingenious finds of the creators of the series for a long time, but it’s quite enough to formulate a certain idea.
Do I have to watch this circus? If you are a normal person, you respect your country, history, the memory of ancestors - you should not watch this categorically. Instead of historical cinema - watering the national hero with mud, instead of a meaningful action - stupid and wretched teenage fantasies. It is better to review the old Soviet film about the legendary commandant. Although it is black and white, and filmed almost eighty years ago, it still looks quite decent. Unlike squalid crafts of the first channel.
As recently as yesterday, the IN was a discussion of the intentions of V. V. Putin to publish a single textbook on the history of Russia. Many and vigorously discussed this news. However, no history textbook, even the best and the most correct, will help as long as such articles are displayed on our screens. The dominance of the series, of course, many alarming. But one thing is when fictional characters like “My Fair Nanny” or “Matchmakers” become the heroes of the series, and quite another thing when in this format we are trying to impose illiterate and perverted “historical” events. "Chapay Passion", just from the category of such completely mediocre and harmful serials that show the "author's" interpretation of history. And most likely, not even the history (who is it interesting, really?), But digging in the dirty linen of historically great people. And was it the dirty laundry that we were shown? Most likely, these are just uncovered ambitions of hacks from the cinema. To the need of the viewer. It’s not for nothing that everybody is so popular: “Let them say,” “You won’t believe,” etc. It became interesting for people to delve into someone else’s dirty laundry, it’s probably easier for them to forget their problems ...
V.I. Lenin also said: “You must firmly remember that cinema is the most important of all arts for us” (from Lunacharsky’s memoirs). This thought is shared by many now. Look at Hollywood. The "factory of dreams", with all its ambiguity, strictly adheres to certain rules ... About America is either good or nothing. Albeit not true, but for the benefit of America: “Save Private Ryan,” “Armageddon,” “Red Heat,” and many others. I do not call to make films on Hollywood themes, I just want to finally watch NORMAL films! In which the police, and not the cops, in which the soldiers, and not a gang of idiots, drug addicts and drunks, in which the folk heroes, and not invented ersatz directed by ghouls and jerks. Such as: "Police Sergeant", "Soldier Ivan Brovkin", "They Fought for the Motherland", instead of: "Capercaillie", "Soldiers", "Scum". It is useless to create the right textbooks until the order is fixed on our television and movie screens. And especially in historical productions. Pseudohistory, flavored with truth-like "facts", will do more harm than outright lies, or even ignorance!
Technical implementation of the film, let it remain on the conscience of hacks. To discuss the shown "division" in the size of a company (at best), even as it is boring. Or Cossack hundreds (not one!) Consisting of 20 people in shaggy goat hats stretched over their eyes (it is likely that the same faces of "hundreds" of Cossacks would not become familiar in different frames). About the appearance of the warring, already enough said above, I will not repeat.
Imagine what children in the subject of Chapaev can write in their essays? "Furmanov shot Chapaev in the back, out of a feeling of jealousy" - there is no such thing even in numerous anecdotes ... Children of the present who, unlike us, did not read Furmanov. Who did not watch the real movie "Chapaev", and not this pathetic hand-made article about the 12-series. When, once again watching the final shots of the film about the heroic divisional division, we squeezed our fists from impotence with tears in our eyes, and to the last hoped that Chapay would swim!
You know ... I began to dream of censorship ... And for a long time.
