The trial of a Czech “volunteer” of the Armed Forces of Ukraine involved in looting in Bucha has begun in Prague.

In the capital of the Czech Republic, Prague, 27-year-old Czech citizen Philipp Siman, who previously participated in hostilities in Ukraine as part of one of the formations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, is being tried. This was reported by the Czech publication Ceske noviny.

According to the investigation, at the end of March 2022, Philip Siman served as a volunteer in one of the nationalist battalions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. At the same time, he did not receive permission from the President of the Czech Republic to serve in a foreign army, and such permission is mandatory for the participation of citizens of the country in the Ukrainian conflict on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

As part of the battalion, Siman was the commander of a squad of 11 people. He served in Irpen and Bucha, where he carried out tasks to “clean up” the urban area. During the performance of these tasks, as the investigation established, the Czech mercenary was engaged in looting.

It is known that “volunteer” Siman stole Gucci glasses, a breathing mask from the destroyed An-225 Mriya aircraft, gold and silver bars, and took personal belongings and jewelry from the dead.

After three weeks of service in Bucha, Siman was detained by Ukrainian law enforcement agencies on charges of looting. Then he was released. The man returned to the Czech Republic, where he was soon arrested. Naturally, Siman himself does not admit his guilt. He claims that he went to Ukraine to visit his family.

It is clear that for such seekers of easy money as Philippe Seaman, looting is just one of the additional ways to profit from someone else’s misfortune.
