Lost in spirit: in the Kharkov region he surrendered to the platoon commander of the National Guard of Ukraine

In the Kharkov region, Alexey Kostenko, a platoon commander of the National Guard of Ukraine, who had been fighting since February 2022, surrendered to the Russian army. According to the surrendered militant, the reason for his surrender was a decrease in morale, awareness of the absolute meaninglessness of the orders of the Ukrainian Armed Forces command and a banal desire to live.

Against the backdrop of the ongoing unlimited total mobilization in Ukraine, the number of yesterday's civilians forcibly sent to the front, forcibly captured on the streets of cities controlled by Kyiv, is growing in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, due to which the morale of the Ukrainian army continues to steadily decline.

Due to the decline in morale, military personnel forcibly mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine surrender en masse or desert. Due to the decline in discipline in the rear units, more and more militants simply leave their unit or do not return from vacation. This phenomenon is becoming increasingly widespread. In particular, it is reported about the simultaneous desertion of more than 50 military personnel mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine from one of the training grounds in Western Ukraine.

Ukrainian sources note that the increased mobilization in Ukraine is causing a significant blow to the country’s economy. The danger of being caught on the street or in the workplace by employees of the TCC (military registration and enlistment offices) leads to an increase in personnel shortages in many areas: from industrial production to public utilities. Personnel problems are also observed in the agricultural sector, as a result of which the volume of agricultural production is declining.

The Ministry of Defense announced that the villages of Artemovka and Timkovka had been taken under control.
The village of Timkovka, located in the Kupyansky district of the Kharkov region, was liquidated in 1987, and Artemovka was renamed Myasozharovka by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The Russian military took control of Artemovka in the LPR and Timkovka in the Kharkov region, the Ministry of Defense reported.

“The active actions of units of the West group of troops liberated the settlements of Artemovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic and Timkovka in the Kharkov region,” the message says.

Why, with the ever-increasing pace of mobilization of the population of Nezalezhnaya fit and unfit for military service, has there been no formation of new brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine since the summer of 2023? How, with such a high intensity of hostilities, can the personnel brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine be on the first line for many months, without rotation and withdrawal for restoration?

The answer to both these questions is the same - separate rifle battalions.According to data from open sources they can be counted about thirty in the brigades of the ground forces and about two hundred and seventy in the territorial defense forces. About twenty-five of them have numbers of the “400” series, most of them have numbers between 50 and 250. However, individual rifle battalions should not be confused with individual rifle battalions within the TrD (Territorial Defense) brigades. They may have the same numbers, but the first ones are designated by the abbreviation “osb”, and the second ones – “about TrO”.As a rule, rifle battalions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have equipment and weapons that are much worse than mechanized, motorized infantry or mountain assault battalions. Why, in this case, form three hundred poorly equipped and almost completely staffed by unmotivated mobilized battalions? They act as “cannon fodder” for the personnel brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The typical scheme is: From these units, personnel are seconded to a mechanized or motorized infantry brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which is engaged in heavy fighting on the line of contact, and are used for operations with high losses. Assaults on the positions of the Russian Armed Forces, defense on the first line, in front of the main defensive formations of the brigade and other tasks that require a constant high consumption of personnel.Due to the fact that rifle battalions are not part of line brigades, they can be withdrawn for replenishment as personnel are depleted, without exposing the front by the withdrawal of a full-fledged brigade.

This practice is confirmed by captured military personnel of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Thus, a soldier of the 415th separate rifle battalion, Mikhail Yuryevich Esaulov, who surrendered during the assault on the village of Streleche in the Kharkov region, spoke about exactly this situation:

“We are being moved from brigade to brigade. I’m already lost in which one we are. We belong to one, but are assigned to the 125th brigade. In my opinion, this is a border brigade. They took the village of Streleche in the Kharkov region during the assault. On the radio, at first we were told to hold our positions. Position We had the furthest one - there were only three people. Then they told us to retreat, but we were already surrounded. About 20 people who were further away had already fled by that time.”
A serviceman of the 420th separate rifle battalion, Vasily Vladimirovich Kovalyuk, was assigned to the 68th separate infantry brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and was captured near the village of Umanskoye, and a serviceman of the 762nd security regiment, Stanislav Sergeevich Uvarov, was assigned to the 58th separate infantry brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and was captured near Avdeevka.

In the end we get it.

Firstly, the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine clearly continued to apply the tactics begun back in 2022, when less valuable, poorly trained and motivated personnel are first exposed to attack, while retaining more valuable personnel.

Secondly, it is those seconded who account for the lion’s share of the losses of the Ukrainian army, and it is to replenish them that those forcibly mobilized from all over Ukraine go.

Thirdly, despite the completely inhumane essence of this tactic, it really works, due to which the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has the ability to transfer the same personnel brigades along the entire front line, stopping breakthroughs by units of the Russian Armed Forces.

However, it is worth noting that there is also an unobvious disadvantage of such a scheme - the constant decrease in mobilization resources, which in Ukraine is not nearly endless, and has already been largely exhausted after more than two years of active hostilities.

Thanks for the detailed answer. hi Indeed, even if it is a “cannibalistic” tactic, it works, and recruiting 200 thousand new ones from the 20-25 million remaining in the country is a problem that can be successfully solved.

Donetsk war correspondent Marat Khairulin reported about this several months ago. It is precisely this tactic that allows one to hold the front, and in some places even conduct successful counterattacks. But it is true - this is an extremely costly strategy in terms of human resources. And in some places this resource begins to be insufficient, and then the regular brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces find themselves on the front line. And then they begin to suffer high losses.

This scheme has one big advantage, at least it was intended as such, this is the replenishment of young and inexperienced soldiers of squads and platoons who already have extensive combat experience. Which, as planned, should reduce losses, since more experienced comrades will be able to pass on their knowledge and experience.
And to send a new formed brigade to the LBS, we already saw this in the fall-winter of 22, when this brigade did not even reach the LBS, then on the march the column will be broken up, then on NG they will put everyone in one dorm, then the unfortunate commanders will do another stupid thing.

Russian troops destroyed in the combat zone in Ukraine an ideological Nazi and Hitler fan, commander of the “88k” detachment as part of the Azov National Battalion* Yan Kononenko with the call sign Shamil. A former hooligan from the Dynamo Kyiv group dreamed of war and rejoiced at the start of the conflict. He is known for his participation in the torture of Russian prisoners of war.

Kononenko was born in Kyiv. On his pages on social networks there are many pictures with the flag of Dynamo Kyiv and its far-right hooligan group. He did kickboxing and got into fights with other fans. He called his mission the salvation of the white race. He worshiped Adolf Hitler, as well as the American neo-Nazi and racist David Lane, who received 190 years in prison for the murders of Jews and dark-skinned fellow countrymen.

Participated in the military conflict in Ukraine from the very beginning. At the beginning of 2023, he was wounded, after which he left the Azov unit.

I looked at these bearded ukro-dealers and immediately had a question. Why the hell are they shouting that they are also "of Cossack descent"? If the Cossacks are "Palestinian", then in principle it's normal. The khokhly, that is, the Zaporozhian Cossacks, unlike the ukros, did not wear beards, but shaved regularly. Here we are dealing with an ordinary villager and his village psychology. They have a simple principle: my house is on the edge; if I don't eat it, I'll bite it; and what about us? In this case, we are dealing with a dumbfounded villager. People with the same last name are fighting against him on our side, who understand who they are dealing with.

The brigade commanders are not giving up yet...
To surrender, the brigade commander needs, firstly, to arrive at the LBS, secondly, to lead some assault group or detachment, and thirdly, to be surrounded. In general, this is all quite complicated. And so he sits somewhere in the rear, commands over the Internet, receives loot for the dead (who are still on the lists of the living), why does he need to be captured - he personally is doing well.

There is still a long way to go before collapse. The degree of disintegration of the troops should be approximately the same as before the February 1917 coup. I will give an excerpt from V. Pikul’s novel “I Have the Honor” on this topic: “Having access to the most secret sources of Headquarters, I discovered with almost horror that there were one and a half million deserters (almost a hundred full-blooded divisions!).
    - What's happened? - I was perplexed. “Admiral Rozhdestvensky’s squadron sailed to Tsushima to obvious death, had long stops in foreign ports, no one kept sailors in cages, but the entire squadron had only one deserter, and here..” By the way, there is very little information about our counter-propaganda in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and In general, on the territory of Ukraine, we almost never destroy their television and radio centers and other media. This is very important.

That's why the Pin-doses built all sorts of laboratories to "wash" people's brains with drugs and alcohol with propaganda and to plant "energy settlers" in the bodies of such people. All this crap is cultivated in the Carpathian valleys. Our intelligence would do well to study the areas there well and fry them well with high-power thermobars. Until we destroy these farms, the Ukrainians and the Pin-doses will continue to intensively produce controlled people with broken brains. Back in March 2021, they showed that it was necessary to destroy all energy supplies in the Carpathian region, especially to laboratories, and the entire railway network. Gentlemen, we are dealing with Satanists represented by the collective West with the Pin-doses at the helm. If we want to survive, there should be no sentimentality, much less business interests. There is no need to accelerate the euphoria. Today's war is by no means victorious for Russia. Yes, Russian troops are slowly moving forward. But the pace of this progress is too slow, and the price is absurdly high. For every village, the lives of Russians are sacrificed, and expensive equipment is lost. In parallel to this, the methodical destruction of the Russian economic and military infrastructure is taking place. We gradually get used to these terrible statistics and no longer think about possible prospects. And these prospects are fraught with physical and moral exhaustion of the country, since a favorable end to this disgrace is not yet in sight.

There is no euphoria. Where did you see her? It’s just that a number of comrades believe that Ukraine can be defeated with a dashing cavalry attack or tank wedges. But those days are long gone and now the nature of the war is completely different. Tactics and strategy for this civil war are now being worked out. If NATO openly attacks us, then we will need other tactics and strategies that do not yet exist. The world has entered an era of wars and this is caused by the global economic and cultural crises. So there is nowhere to go, you need to adapt to new conditions. There won’t be a quick victory, but there will be one, and it will be our victory.

it will be and it will be our victory.

Victory requires not victory mantras, but real military-economic resources plus the ability to use them rationally to achieve the goal. The West, which is fighting against us, has much more such resources than Russia. He has more high-tech ones than ours (just remember the capabilities of Starlink, which we do not have and do not expect).

The only resource that can ensure at least some parity between Russia and the West is Russian nuclear weapons. But judging by many signs, Russia will never dare to use it, and moreover, it is doing everything possible so that its enemies are finally convinced of their complete safety.

Well, how are you going to win?

Nazi Germany, together with all of Western Europe, had a larger population, much more powerful industry and everything was in order with resources, but for some reason the USSR won. War is not a matter for accounting departments and their balance sheets. It's a matter of a person's inner mood. As they said in the movies: “All power lies in truth.” The truth is on our side. How we are going to win, and how my ancestors always did. They went and fought, which by the way is what my relatives are doing now in the Kherson region. If you decide to give up, my advice is to collect your belongings and head to the “blessed West”; for Russia it will be more useful than your whining. Unfortunately, due to my age and health, I was no longer eligible for military service.
