Sweden is going to place its command in 500 anti-radiation containers

The Swedish Ministry of Defense has signed a four-year contract worth £100 million with the British company Marshall, which provides for the design and production of half a thousand anti-radiation shelters, which are intended to accommodate command personnel.

Command posts will be based in standard 20-foot containers. A total of 500 of these CPs have been ordered.

Highly maneuverable and quickly deployable command posts will increase the operational stability of the Swedish Armed Forces when conducting operations in open terrain, on the coast and in cities

- says the company’s website.

The execution of such a large order will be distributed between enterprises in Britain and Canada. CPs with electromagnetic shielding will be produced in 16 modifications, most of which are equipped with NBC protection systems, and one of the options has ballistic protection. The containerized systems will specialize in performing various functions, such as command, communications, technical and network support.

In modern combat realities, command posts sometimes become targets for missile attacks due to their long-term operation in one position. In this regard, the command post is required to have the same maneuverability as its subordinate units.

It's good that they are restless. But no matter how much they hide, they will not be able to keep themselves a secret. The best thing they can do is climb into garbage cans so that no one will find them.

The main thing is that they have time to get into their personal “ashtrays”! And in the event of a nuclear mess, the sizzling heat will come first, and then the radioactivity! But, let’s hope, they won’t care anymore!

Just in today's news: two amers, who escaped from the local kitchen, decided to hide in a garbage can and were caught. The best thing for the Swedish command is to cram 50 people into a container and at minus two

In American action films, usually a dumpster is a completely reliable shelter from pursuers. You climbed in, closed the lid behind you, and no one would look for you there. lol
These fugitives probably developed their escape plan based on the militants. If you search carefully, you can find a couple of films in which the Fed is robbed - let them try... lol

This option is for a day at most. Then the flies will flock to the smell. And this will no longer be a command post, but a booth.

I remember in the army I walked into the wind - a lit newspaper in one hand, a smoking spruce branch in the other.
Yes, and in the “fields” in the evening before lights out we placed a bucket with steaming spruce or pine branches in the middle of the tent. The mosquitoes fly out, the personnel quickly occupy the freed living space, tightly closing the “doors”.

It all depends on the circumstances. But a mobile command post disguised as a civilian truck is better than a truck with clearly military affiliation.
Our BRZD, say, or Club-K, are also weighed and painted?

Well, firstly, there is no need to level a command post not far from the front line with a ballistic railway at the rear station or a container with a missile defense on a cargo ship. And secondly, they are camouflaged to blend into the general background

When there is no one in particular to command, the command itself can hide anywhere. Of course, the Swedes like these big boy jokes, but they should soberly assess their ability to protect troops and bases in the event of a really serious conflict in the INF zone. No one will probably need their com. the composition is special, but the infrastructure, bases, concentrations of manpower, airfields and large ports will be covered - and what will they manage there, objectively?
I understand when amers are so active - a lot of things will survive “during and after”, but for the Swedes this is great optimism ..

Has anyone noticed the NUMBER of these containers???

This is the strangest part of this news...
What kind of sickly command are they going to place all the way in 500 containers?

It turns out that the command will be approximately equal to the active part of the army:
If you count 5 people in a container, that’s 2500 officers! Well, okay, if there are 4 people per container (hardly less makes sense), then 2000 officers is still too much for the small Swedish army. It now has only 26000 people (this includes the navy, aviation, etc.) + 22000 in the militia (reservists): https://www.forsvarsmakten.se/sv/organisation/om-var-organisation/personalsiffror/

And for headquarters there are already excellent bomb shelters, bunkers and even entire naval bases in granite rocks - here is an example, like our Balaklava: https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%91%D0%B0% D0%B7%D0%B0_%D1%84%D0%BB%D0%BE%D1%82%D0%B0_%D0%9C%D1%83%D1%81%D0%BA%D1%91 .
Made conscientiously and for at least 3000-5000 thousand people. No, we’ll put thousands more suicide bombers in containers on the surface...
As a result, it turns out that half of the Swedish army is going to spend the entire war in a bunker or in a container...
Brilliant plan, Karl! Much safer than Poltava...
